Came back here for happy hour for the second time, and it's quickly becoming one of our favorite casual spots to hang out. The food is really good for bar food, and the happy hour deals make it even better. My favorites so far are definitely the bang bang shrimp and the soft pretzels. I've also tried the mac & cheese bites, Gilroy garlic fries, hand-breaded pickle chips, and the 6-piece boneless wings that were part of the happy hour special. The Asian chili crisp flavor was really good, and my friend's lemon pepper wings were also tasty. For drinks, I tried the Purple Haze and really enjoyed it. They also have a solid selection of beers and cocktails, so there's plenty to choose from during happy hour. Asked waitress what's up and said she said she had to charge since I asked for honey mustard as well and it's was totally up to her manager and nothing she could do. This was my second visit to the brass tap overall I was happy with my experience. I love the inviting and fun atmosphere. The service was excellent. The beer selection was excellent. I enjoyed the beer thoroughly. I would say my one disappointment about this place. Is the food menu? They don't offer enough items to eat that people would want to eat. I usually come to brass tap only a couple times a year, but I definitely need to come more often. I got a burger, it had pulled pork, fried Mac and cheese, and bacon on it. The patty was cooked PERFECTLY, pulled pork was tender and flavorful, and overall it was absolutely AMAZING. the service was excellent, our server was sweet, personable, very nice and one of my favorite servers I've ever had. The Brass Tap - Roanoke We have tried to enjoy this local spot multiple times. Every time, their prosecco is warm and I have drank it or asked for something different and paid for both drinks. I ask every time, before I order if the prosecco is cold. I get told yes and it is never cold, lukewarm warm at best: tonight, after the same experience; even though I asked multiple times... it was warm again. I immediately took my glass to the bar tender and explained it was warm. I ordered a different drink and went back to my sear. We came here before our 8pm movie, Got there a little before 7 to give ourselves plenty of time. Sat ourselves and nobody came to greet us so we went ahead and grabbed our own menus. Brass Tap House - Disappointing Experience with Overly Entitled Staff My friends and I (six grown adults in our mid-40s to mid 50s) 3 couples, decided to check out Brass Tap for a nightcap after a lovely dinner and birthday celebration. We had heard good things about the atmosphere, so we were excited to unwind for a bit. However, our experience quickly turned sour, thanks to the extremely unpleasant behavior of the server. When we arrived, the server immediately asked the men in our group to "walk a line," and we all thought he was joking. We laughed it off, playing around and all of us easily passed the test. But then, out of nowhere, he tells us that he won't serve us because we didn't "pass" the test. Seriously? We all looked at each, shocked, confused still thinking it was a joke. It was utterly embarrassing and completely uncalled for, especially considering we had all had just 2-3 drinks over the course of several hours at dinner, and we Ubered to the bar. We were definitely not out-of-control 20-somethings stumbling around. As if the situation wasn't bizarre enough, I walked to the restroom, and when I returned, I made my way to the far end of the bar. The bartender there had no issue serving me and my girlfriend, which makes the whole thing even more confusing. We enjoyed a beer, while our husbands ordered an uber home. Why was one part of the staff treating us like we were trouble, while another had no problem serving us? This was our first time at Brass Tap, and although the atmosphere seemed great, we will absolutely never return. It's a shame, because we would have loved to frequent this place! We all have kids that play sports in the area and are always looking for a place to get some food and watch a game, after some games, but the poor attitude and absurd behavior of the server has completely turned us off. The Brass Tap is a local tap room with pub food located between North Fort Worth, Roanoke, and Southlake. It's a convenient spot for me to meet a friend from Flower Mound, half way between us. It has a large beer menu, cocktail menu, and a decent selection of unremarkable, largely expected food. Beer is the main reason I chose this place. Both times I've visited there has been plenty of room at the bar. The bar keep, also the manager, during my second visit was very good and quite edgy about being under staffed, understandable as people can really be rude to wait staff when food is slow to come out. Makes me wanna slap strangers when I hear about this. If you or anyone you care about has ever worked in the service industry, you know it pretty much teaches you how awful humans can be to each other. If you come here, please be kind to the staff and remember they are supporting families and working long hours in a pandemic that has reduced resources everywhere. Having said that, our food came out quickly anyway. None of it was spectacular. But, I did appreciate having several high ABV stouts to choose from. We had a nice long visit and tipped well. Good news is we had great service and I enjoyed my Texas Ale Project Pilsner. Unfortunately - the food missed the mark this weekend. We started with a pretzel bites appetizer and strangely every other pretzel was either fresh or stale. While soaking the stale pretzels in either the queso or spicy mustard dipping-sauce made them pallatable - I found myself hoping to win the pretzel lottery each time to receive a fresh one. :) Surely the wings or the ceasar salad with sirloin steak would be better? Meh. The sirlion reminded me of 1980's "steak-ums" and the wings were unfortunately over-cooked. The world needs more places like the Brass Tap. My first impression upon pulling up was that of a little uncertainty - as I'm usually weary of restaurants in shopping centers that look like they could share the building with a cell phone store. Regardless, work travels brought me to the area, and I was hungry, so I proceeded. I'm always a sucker to try a place with an entire wall of taps. I counted 68 taps on the wall behind the bar - far too many options to try and expect to make it home safely afterwards. I was promptly greeted as I sat down at the bar and was presented with an extensive list of drink and food options. I opted to try the Squatters Hop Rising Texas Twist IPA and the Deep Ellum Dallas Blonde for my drinks. For food, I chose the pretzel basket and grilled chicken BLT wrap. The food was very tasty and complemented the beer choices very well. Throughout my whole experience, my waitress was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. We were looking for a sports bar with good food and beer to watch college football. This place had everything. Multiple TVs, not too loud, great service, decent beer selection and good food! My only complaint is the portions. The appetizers were less than a serving for 1 person and fries with the burgers were skimpy too. For the price you'd expect at least a notmal serving size. I was told about this place by a fellow Yelper - you rarely go wrong when a fellow Yelper tells you about a spot. This place was no exception. Craft beers galore! Seriously, their draught beer list is Long & changes regularly. A very sweet waitress let us know we could sample any of the draughts. The first four that my hubby & I sampled were so good that I told our waitress I was having trouble deciding what to go with. She responded, "No problem, we offer beer flights." For about $12-14, you can score a flight of four unique, well-crafted brews. I went with two that were "java infused," one that incorporated coffee and chocolate, and one that added coconut into the brewing process. I had never had coconut brew! Check my pic for the names of the brews I tried. Not only do they offer some excellent beers here, but they also have good food. I'm a lightweight, so I have to gnosh on something before or while I drink. We started with the Combo Appetizer. We liked most items on it, but the standouts were the tots and chicken tenders. After that, the hubby and I split the Korean BBQ burger and subbed tots for fries. That burger was good, and it was a huge plus that they didn't hassle us about splitting it. {I don't like it when restaurants charge a "plate fee" in order for two people to split an entrée.} Of course, there was more beer drinking. Then, our buddy KevinH who introduced us to this spot, got the Korean BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos. It's an appetizer, but is plenty large enough to be a main entrée. Around 6pm or so, folks began flooding in and the place began filling up. It's definitely a "hot spot" around here. The inside has a modern, polished, yet easy-going, laid back vibe. What a remarkable place. Can't believe as many times as we've come to Roanoke that we haven't tried this yet. When you walk in a beer lover is in heaven. I couldn't even count how many taps are on the wall. I tried two different ales and my bride likes the lighter beers. The service was good even though it wasn't busy in a Wednesday night. Lots of TV's to watch about anything. We had to try to the cheese curds based on the Yelp reviews. Wow! They were just as good as the reviews I read. I ordered a (single patty) cheeseburger with the fires and my bride had the wings. We both love Brussel Sprouts so she substituted her fries for them. That single patty was plenty big and the double would have been too much. Loved the hamburger patty and the fact that it wasn't a frozen hockey puck. Great flavor! Fries were ok but nothing to write home about. The same with the wings. They were good but didn't blow us out of the water. Honestly, we were both disappointed in the Brussel Sprouts. My husband and I decided to stop by on Sunday to try this new place out. We had trouble finding it as we assumed it was on restaurant row in Roanoke so if you do the same thing it's actually in a shopping strip next to the cinema. When you walk in it can be a little confusing as you can see staff but it's open seating. So walk in and pick a seat. We sat at the door for 60 seconds not sure what to do. Management might want to look into placing a sign that says seat yourself. We were greeted by Kevin and he was great. He helped me pick out some beers to try on my beer flight and he suggestions matched my tastes and preferences. I selected Saint Michael's Outcast, Firestone Walker 805 Blonde Ale, Wyders Dry Pear Cider and Austin Eastciders Ruby Red Grapefruit. I liked all of them but I wouldn't order the 805 again. It was too bitter for me. My husband ordered the Rum or Run? He said it was really good. We ordered from the appetizers. We got Angus sliders (Very bland and not a suggested item to order if you're thinking about it), 10 wings with bam bam sauce, chips and sauce and mac and cheese. The wings and mac and cheese were great. They have quit a few items to choose from like pizza and burgers. I hope the bigger burgers are better then the sliders. We loved the decor and the tv's were great but 6 of the tv's were on the same channel. We asked for one to be put on the Ranger game and one to be put on NASCAR. They have a very good waitstaff that knows exactly when to come by & ask if you need another drink as well as bring out your appetizer well in advance from your main course! We've tried the Brass Tap twice. The first time they were packed. The menu is quite small and this time the food was decent. We came back about a year later to give it another shot. This time, there were only a few people there, and they looked at my family like they were tying to figure out why we were there. It was weird. The menu is still small, and we'd probably give it three-ish stars. Pretzels with cheese, Fish and Chips, Tacos, and Burgers is what we ordered. We probably won't go back. The patty was flavorless, not cooked as ordered & didn't look anything like the patty in the photo on the delivery app...it could have been pre-packaged & from Wal-Mart & I wouldn't have known the difference. The Gourmet Grilled Cheese had so little cheese on it I had to raise the bread to see if there was any. The Brussel sprouts had great flavor but were simply underdone... not like the "personal preference" underdone.. but the truly underdone. I like everything a little al dente, with a little firmness and texture... but this was simply under-cooked. We've been coming here for a few years... it's just gotten worse over time but I'll share my most recent experience because that was the last time we'll ever go... The service was firstly the worst.. nobody greeted us, and it took almost 10 mins before anyone brought us menus.. we were brought the menus and still did not get asked what drinks we wanted.. then about another 10 mins later we were brought waters and then asked what we wanted to drink... the kid didn't know the menu and I was brought the wrong substitution side instead of what I asked for with my meal and then was told if I wanted the side I asked for, I would need to pay extra for it... the entire time we were there he never took the menus off the table, so I put them on the empty table next to us so we had room and he still never took them away... We had to ask for napkins and silverware after our appetizer was brought to us, when he should have brought them to us when he brought the menus. The restaurant was pretty empty so there was no reason for absolutely piss poor service. Everyone who worked there was pretty much just standing around. The food was not good. The salsa was too spicy from the chips and salsa appetizer. I ordered the shrimp entree like I usually do and the cocktail sauce was not cocktail sauce.... It tasted like ketchup mixed with a splash of cocktail sauce and vinegar so I didn't really eat much of my meal... The restaurant has gone downhill... Now, I try to give servers/restaurants some grace since I used to be a server for years, but this one just didn't deserve it. Not to mention the time before this, we had my baby with us and they don't have high chairs! So we walked right out before we could even have a table. We never realized they didn't have high chairs until that time because it was the first time we needed one going there. Discovered this place from Yelp reviews. Loved the decor and outside patio. We really loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our waitress recommended the cheese curds. OMG! They were so good. It comes with two sauces. The honey pepper one was so unique. First bite, reminded you of a donut! The peri peri sauce was good too. We split the All-American Pub Burger. Loved it. The wait staff was nice and the food tasted fine. We got two of our items in a timely fashion (less than 30min), but one of the items (a plate of steak nachos) took an hour and a half to come out. When it did arrive, we counted eight small pieces of steak on it (lol), which was disappointing after such a wait to say the least. The server told us he would look to get it removed from the ticket, but it ended up being discounted 25%, which was nice but still less than promised (a theme with this place, it seems). We stopped here this afternoon for a few beers and appetizers. The beer selection is excellent and everything on the menu look great. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a few beers each and shared a order of pretzels. It wasn't very busy when we arrived and as we sat watched it became busier but too busy. We were the only two woman sitting at the bar and for a short period of time the only female customers . What we discovered was the bartenders for the most part completely ignore us. They were too busy flirting at the other end of the bar and we sat waiting for long periods of time for refills or simply a acknowledgement. We would have ordered more beverages and food but finally gave up and asked for our check, which took forever to get. My wife and I are wine drinkers but decided to hang out here. Wine drinkers but we relate to the beer drinker crowd. We have been to a number of micro breweries and have enjoyed many different types of beers. I personally like German beers and beers finished is a bourbon barrel. We had a couple of lights and shared the last one. We also had the pretzels and wings. The wings a little soggy. Beer was great, pretzels great, service outstanding! Trevor was very attentive answering my wife's copious questions about different beers. The evening was nice. Thanks to Brass tap for a nice evening. We were deciding where to go on Memorial Day. We saw the happy hour specials on the website at the Tap House in Roanoke. We drove all the way there only to find out that the owner/manager will not honor any of the happy hour specials as advertised on the website. We walked out and went to Horizon 22 which honors their advertised happy hour specials. The waitress was very pleasant and apologetic. We told her that is not about the money but about the principle of honoring what is advertised. The owner can blame it on corporate/franchise policy or miscommunications but I took my phone out, and showed their company website which lists the specials. At that point, the owner could have had integrity and honored the advertised price but he didnt. why support a business like this? read more
