I attended the 9:30 am service and 11am bible study so this is what I've observed and experienced at those specific times. You might have a different experience from what I had at depending on the time you go! For starters, the worship building was beautiful! Walking around this campus was super overwhelming though. I got lost trying to find my friend here because it's HUGE. I got here about 10 minutes before the service started but did not have trouble finding a good seat. Worship was about an hour long; 15 minutes of singing and about 45 min of preaching. I really liked Ben Young's style of teaching; I truly felt like I was being taught rather than the propensity preaching that most megachurches present. Their bible study sessions was also great; I could be there all day listening to the lady teach. I really regret not bringing my bible and taking notes. Although this was a great church to attend, I personally don't think it is the right fit for me. Cons: Mega-Church Lack of young people Lack of diversity (in my opinion) Pros: Multiple worship/bible study times Lots of organizations/groups to be apart of Beautiful campus

She will be joining the emerging first grade program in the fall. From the moment you step into Blossom there's a sense of curiosity wonder and amazement at the endless possibilities of creativity one can imagine. Even as an adult I wanted to go to school here! This is a child led program and my daughter is blooming learning so much, right now she's very focused on sewing ! She designed her first dress this spring and loves cooking and learning with her peers in an intimate class setting. I really appreciate the teachers participation in her enrichment and I'm so glad my daughter is open to being taught by them. We are so fortune to have found this gem in Houston! This is truly a magical little place. I hunted around for months to find somewhere with a program…read morethat included ample outdoor time. Based on all the data for how important this is for kids, this doesn't seem like a challenging request -- but Blossom Heights was one of the only places I found where kids spend more than 2 hours outside (and most places it's more like 30-45 minutes). They have full and part-time programs, too, which is a major plus. It is not near where I live, but 100% worth the drive. The emphasis on open-ended play and being in nature is perfect. Each classroom has a dedicated outdoor area curated to their age/development. My son is outside for hours every day--painting, reading, playing with leaves, learning about bugs--it makes my day when I get pictures in the communication app of all the cute things he's doing. I'm so grateful he isn't stuck at a desk baking under fluorescent lights, or in a room with a million beeping toys. The classrooms are warm and cozy, full of open-ended activities but not overwhelming. The teachers and administrators are all so kind and loving. His teachers have been so patient with his reluctance to nap, and they give us the cutest insight into his days and growth. "Open-ended" and "play-based" is not a code word for laziness here, the teachers are extremely involved in crafting an environment that the children can learn from and guiding/nurturing them. They've been very careful with Covid precautions, too, and I never feel I'm taking unnecessary risk by bringing him to school. My only complaint is that I can't go to school here!

We all agree that it just felt right when we found St. T. We did not know a single soul when came here but now have many close friends. It is a hidden gem, but worth looking for. Super location at the edge of Memorial Park. It is not unusual to see runners and golfers pop in for mass. Very diverse: students, singles, couples, young families, seniors; all kinds, all walks. All are truly welcome here. Each Sunday obligation mass has a different "flavor", so try another if you aren't feeling the right fit. Also, our pastor Fr. Phil is awesome. Check us out. You will not be just another name on the parish roll. Join a club, a ministry or a class and you will meet lots of really genuinely nice people. I really encourage runners to come by. My dream is to have a runners' mass maybe once a month, I think that would be really cool! P.S. I give 5 Stars because I love this church, but I know it is not perfect. We are working on some physical changes right now that will make St. Theresa's 5 Stars plus! * There is also an excellent PreK3 - 8th Grade School here. I will write about that in another review.

The large book known as the Bible contains the tenants of the Christian faith. In it, the Gospel of…read moreMatthew presents a short passage that spells out the top priorities of those who call themselves believers in Christ. In a nutshell, they are (1) Love God; (2) Love neighbor. Everything else written in that book hangs off of these principles. If you attend a Church that has an agenda that supersedes this, allow me to suggest that a roadblock has been thrown in the path that follows the teachings of a carpenter from an uncool backwater of the Roman Empire 2000 years ago. In our "me" focused culture, sacrificial love can appear unintuitive and not particularly cool. Many attend church to be filled with theologically uninformed promises of personal prosperity if you love Jesus. Real Christianity offers no such thing. If you're currently looking for a Church that truly acts on the tenants of "Love God; Love neighbor", you may wish to check out Memorial Drive United Methodist Church (MDUMC). Found just West of the toll road on the West side, MDUMC offers many opportunities to serve others including: - Support a Community Center in the Larkin area of town that includes day care and an emergency food pantry - Volunteer at a soup mobile in downtown Houston - Participate in prison ministries - Mentor children at a local elementary school - Share your talents to aid those in need in many mission trips scattered around the country and globe - Volunteer to work with hundreds of teenagers in large-scale work camps that transform communities around the State of Texas - And the list goes on and on... The Gospel that is preached at MDUMC challenges all who listen each week to take the focus off yourself, trust in God and achieve miracles in the lives of others (and, by doing so, transforming your own).

Charlotte is the BEST! Do not hesitate to proceed with her!…read more Charlotte Manning is awesome. She is so gentle and kind. She made the whole process seem so smoothe. I went into this in a panic, with my heart racing and my mind all over the place, and as soon as she open the door it was like a calm took over. Her smile, the office was warm, she beckoned us in and captivated mine son from first impression. He explored her office and she was understanding of his interest. When it was time for testing, she closed the door and I could have flown away for bb I it mattered. I had zero apprehension. She allowed me an office so I could get work ER done, I set up my laptop made calls and did business work and before I knew it my son appeared for snack time. He looked pleased, we ate out apples and granola and he was just as pleased going back into the testing room. I don't know what I imagined for a 5 year old doing diagnostic testing but this wasn't it. After it was all done and finished, we departed and I made an appointment for 2 weeks later for results which is the quickest turnaround time in Houston! I was swamped the day of the appointment with three sick children at home and she understood so we met via zoom. She delivered our diagnosis and was very helpful in explaining every little detail. She took her time, made suggestions, recommendations, I felt heard and we laughed and she encouraged me. I honestly felt like I left that meeting EMPOWERED. Can you imagine that? My son gets a diagnosis that rocks my world and I am empowered to handle it all because of Charlotte! I thank her! She is truly the best. And I pray she continues to thrive in what she does and can touch many people like she touched my heart 10 out of 10 - EXCELLENT!!

When I asked the tester about dyslexia, she shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't know. Thankfully, we saw an excellent neuro psychologist and developmental pediatrician in Austin, who did do appropriate testing and diagnose our child correctly. I wouldn't recommend this educational testing company to anyone. It's probably better to spend more money on a neuro psych for accurate testing so your child can succeed.
