By far one of the most unpleasant stores I have been in. I came into the store ready to try some things on and purchase a new swimsuit. The min I walked in, the lady at the front looked me up and down, said not one word to me, and then proceeded to follow me around the store and watch my every move. I have never in my life felt this way. I picked up a little girls dress I was thinking of purchasing for my niece, the lady stood behind me and when I put it back, she picked it back up and shook it off....almost like I did something to the dress and she had to wipe my germs off. Again, have never felt like this in a store. Maybe these women should be working at Boulmiche (pretty women), they would fit right in their judgy, rude attitudes! read more

I had a really disappointing experience at this store. One of the employees was extremely rude and spoke to me in a condescending way. I have NEVER been treated poorly like that in my life. I later checked Yelp and saw that I'm not the only one--there are several reviews mentioning rude and unprofessional behavior. Definitely won't be back and suggest others do not shop there. The ladies working there were nothing but kind and very helpful with putting together outfits for me and my daughters. While I've never shopped at this store in person I had an excellent experience purchasing online. During the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale last week an item I was looking for was sadly not available from the company, but through a quick Google search I found it exactly what I wanted, for the same price, on The Island Cabana website! Shipping was fairly quick, and item is exactly as described. I will say though that the website can be a bit tricky to navigate and I found it difficult to get back to my cart once I had clicked away from it. If you're looking to support a small shop Lilly retailer online, they're not a bad choice! read more

I walked into what I thought was an adorable store with my Mom and my three children and as we started to look around the staff followed us around like we were fixing to steal something and literally watched our every move. Awful customer service. I wish I could give 0 stars. I went in here to get clothes for my baby. My brother came in with me, he has autism and the ladies working here were horrible towards him. I told him to go outside because they kept leering at him and harassing him. When he left the one lady said to the other saleslady that she was going to call the cops on my brother! He literally did nothing in the store! When I confronted them the lady said that she was "scared" and that the store had "women working there." My brother didn't do anything. He walked in, looked around and then he left, and these intolerable women were going to call the police on him? Why? Because he talks in a monotone voice? Because he doesn't understand the same social cues as them? That's wrong and awful. I will never go back there again. I'm really happy I didn't buy anything. read more

My husband and I walked into the store with an open can in our hand. Our teenage daughters were in the store, likely to spend quite a bit of money. However, we were quickly told by a woman, who looked like she was angry, and in front of many other patrons, that there was a tray at the front of the store we could put our drinks in(doesn't seem Covid safe!). It was incredibly rude. I understand that some people may have spills, but I'm not a child. And shouldn't have been treated like one. If I had a spill, I would have gladly taken care of what I had messed up. I'm a grown adult. Her pretentiousness was not needed. I don't recommend patronizing businesses that treat people as such. As another user mentioned, one of the employees was incredibly condescending about bringing a drink in and insisted the cap was kept on. On top of it, we had a ring we intended to purchase and the same employee took it from us and said it would be kept up front, as if we were going to steal it. Presumption of guilt: I took my daughter into this store to try on some clothing. I was completely offended by one particular sales person who never said "hi" or "hello", rather, simply followed and stalked me around the store while my daughter tried on clothes. I have never in my 45 years felt so uncomfortable trying to spend money on clothing. I would not let my daughter purchase the one item that she did find (without the help of any of the employees) . The one employee that acts as some sort of law enforcement officer needs to tone it down a notch. It is hurting your business. I did however spend lots of money at the the neighboring boutiques that acted genuinely pleased to see paying customers. read more

I love shopping on the island every year when I come to visit. I usually do shop in the island cabana but sadly this year when I went it, it just wasn't the same. I was trying to shop and walk around but I couldn't help but hear the 4 employees talking bad about previous customers that had shopped in the store or had tried on items. I was completely mind blown at how rude and for them to be talking about other customers when you have customers trying to shop. Especially when I was about to try on items and heard the workers talking about how "one lady spent $500 and looked horrible in everything." I am just so disappointed that one of my favorite stores had turned into this. read more

My granddaughter bought a two piece bathing suit here. She wore it one time two days after purchasing and the elastic in the bottoms broke. It is unwearable now. This shop would not return nor exchange it, even though we had the receipt in hand. VERY poor customer service. Will NEVER shop here again and will tell everyone I come into contact with the same. read more

We went shopping today, me and 2 nieces, we had the best experience! The ladies there were super helpful ! We were looking at things and we asked for their help with outfits, holding items at register so we didn't have to carry it all around and even had the fitting rooms prepped with what we handed them that we wanted to try on. They were AWESOME! I have read the reviews but went in open minded and had the BEST experience and I will definitely be back when we come for next vacation. They were amazing and it was so much fun! Like i said too, they were great at helping us pick out cute outfits! and plus that they had sanitizer out and wearing masks the entire time read more

Really cute store, but unfortunately if you go there you'll be subjected to being stalked by the employees, especially if you're a teenage/young woman. They must have an issue with people stealing because every time I go in there I leave feeling uncomfortable and annoyed. I get this for tourists and such, but I live on the island and used to make purchases there quite often and I am still watched like a hawk. Hate it. read more

One of the employees was very rude to my friend and me. I brought a coffee in, which she aggressively yelled at me for putting down on the counter. I thought the issue was the drink being set down, so I picked it up and decided I wouldn't look at the clothes anymore and just let my friend shop so I didn't aggravate her again. Then she chased us to the back of the store and yelled at me for holding the drink in my hand. I understand having a no drink policy, but she was very rude about it, didn't communicate this clearly (or in a mature way), and overall was nasty to us. I read another review that the employees were rude to young women- maybe she had a problem with our age (23). The clothes aren't even that cute - not worth the nastiness. I don't recommend spending your dollar here, plenty of other pleasant stores around. I totally understand the no drinks policy- however there are polite way to let customers know without making them feel so small. Ridiculous behavior for a grown adult. read more

This is the cutest shop with the greatest group of ladies. I'm lucky enough to be a local so I shop here often and every single time, these ladies go above and beyond. They are always smiling and ready to help. I almost always leave with something and they bring me things to try on that I normally wouldn't go for and I usually end up loving them! read more

O M G. ~This store is my weakness. It's usually my first stop before the beach, and my last stop before I leave the island (to make sure I didn't miss some tiny little trinket). I'm a huge Lily Pulitzer fan, and my goodness, do they Deliver on the goods!!! They have an incredible selection of Lily and similar style designers, and offer a wide range of sizes, including plenty of larger sizes(yay). The staff is always so helpful, nice and inviting. (Of course, they all probably know me by now anyways). There's something for everyone in Island Cabana, whether its gifts from the beach, or a new beachy wardrobe, or housewarming gifts. I love supporting local business, and this store gets two thumbs, way up! read more

Customer service is horrible! Associates are rude! Do not recommend this store. I found the perfect dress on the 50% off rack outside. Went to purchase the dress along with a small trinket. Was told the dress was not on sale and shouldn't have been on the sale rack. Questioned where I found it (as if I lied about it). Then told me I couldn't purchase the trinket with my credit card as it didn't meet thE $10 minimum. We will take our $100 purchase elsewhere. read more

We go to AMI every summer and I always love coming to the Island Cabana because of the massive Lilly collection. However, last week was the last time I will shop here. We always have the same experience....the second you walk in, the ladies working watch you so closely, it makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience. They act like everyone is out to steal or touch or break. It's awful....no one asks if you need help unless you are a local or someone they know. Last summer, we bought enough to start our own Lilly store....so it's not like we aren't spending money. This year, after visiting the store twice and feeling uncomfortable both times, I refuse to go back. The point is, relax a little....treat ALL your customers with some respect. You are bound to lose customers this way. I am reading other reviews and seems the feelings mutual. Take a hint....might want to hire new staff or give some lessons in customer service. read more
