Ohhhh BOY‼ do I wish that I would have came to The Italian Kitchen 9 years ago when I first moved to Hesperia I ordered the salad and meatballs and it also included bread it was so GOOD‼ everything was made fresh with lots of flavor‼ I can't wait to comeback and order the lasagne and then come back for round 3 and order a pizza‼ I was so full that I could barely walk to my car the staff was very friendly too‼ What a treat in the high desert I can't wait to come back‼

Everything services friendly and reliable and the food is so original excellent food and the owner is the cook and he is the best Sicilian cook ever.

The middle of the lasagna was cold, no flavor just bland. Sent my plate back. Bread was dry i requested butter to help eat the bread, I ordered mushrooms and they were drenched in oil. No flavor of Oregano, Italian seasonings. I can say this, if an Italian person was to walk into this restaurant and taste one of these dishes, he would probably cuss out the cook! Don't waist your money, go to Johny Carenos, Olive Garden or Mama Carpinos! Or purchase a Stouffers Frozen lasagna it's better than this! Read these reviews of one star or less, we are truthful! The 5 star are lies!

Friday, we went to the last Over the Hill Gang's cruise night at Charlie's Cheesesteaks. Linda won a $25 gift certificate to The Italian Kitchen in Hesperia. We had no dinner plans on Saturday, so we decided to go. All we got was the pizza, but it was the best pizza we have had in the Hi Desert. It's a small place and cash only, but it was FANTASTIC!! Super friendly people and great service. The other dishes we saw looked tasty and were large portions too. We will go again soon. If you like good, authentic Italian food, give them a try. You will love it.

I really wanted to like this place. It's a nice, small place. However, my food was horrible. The picture looks really nice of the chicken piccata. It was more like soup too much sauce. the flavor was bitter and very lemony. The pasta was overcooked, and the chicken was thick and rubbery. I will definitely not be going back.

Their food is authentic and made from scratch. It takes a while to make, but worth the wait. They are very friendly and attentive.

I love the asparagus soup, it really takes me back to childhood, it's so good and comforting. Every time I've been there Francisco has been my server, he is kind and I never feel rushed, he always gives us a great experience. I've tried several dishes but some of my favorites are the fettuccine Alfredo, manicotti, and cheese ravioli with a cream sauce. Tonight I had a dirty martini and it was on point, very good. Always a wonderful dining experience here.

I've had several menu items and they've all been very good. Asparagus soup is a good starter. Eggplant Parmesan is good, but I would like it a little more crispy. Others have ordered the Penne Alla Vodka (ordered al dente, and it was perfectly al dente). Cannelloni Grattanati is a flavorful, attractive dish. I've had the chicken with spinach & cream sauce and Chicken Cacciatore - both were good. I would order either again. The Lasagna Forne was very flavorful, but too salty for me. That's just the way Lasagna is no matter where you have it. This is a delightful local place for lunch or dinner!

The kids had a hard time with the menu because it shows the names in Italian, but the description is in English and easy to understand. The food is still good, the ambiance nice for a date night where you might want privacy, and the staff was pleasant and attentive. I was also pleased that the waiter was able to suggest a wine like they do in fancy movies. I love wine but always forget the names of the ones I like most. We will definitely be coming back here again.

My husband ordered the Smoke House Pasta and said he would choose that dish as his last meal! I ordered the Bruschetta Pizza. It was good but needed something. And we ended our date with the chocolate cannoli for desert. Highly recommend you order one of those! We will definitely be going back there and taking family & friends who come up to visit us. Here are some things I…read morenoticed.. 1) the building is under construction which is fine, but I noticed that the table we were sat at and all of the surrounding tables were filthy. There was food all over the floors, tables had stains and stuck food that looked like it had been there all day. The menus were greasy and sticky. We were sat close to the bathrooms and could smell EVERYTHING. A smell that didn't just build up in an hour so I can only assume that both the restaurant and bathrooms are not being properly cleaned and maintained. 2) The 2 cooks in the kitchen male and female need to be retrained on basic hygiene standards. I observed the woman on her phone for the entirety of our stay (little over an hour). Texting/watching videos and laughing and then putting it away and touching all of the food without gloves. Then, right back on her phone. I watched her also playing with her hair that was fortunately tied back and then continuing to touch the food with no gloves on. I observed the man on the other side of the kitchen sweating so profusely you would think it was the middle of a 110 degree summer. He was wiping sweat off his forehead, his neck, his nose and then continuing to touch all of the food without gloves. Laughing and talking so much I could see the saliva shooting out from his mouth. So unsanitary. You don't teach your staff basic sanitation??? I spoke to our server about it and she just said "yeah I know". Then I spoke to a manager on our way out and let her know what I had witnessed and she said "oh really?" And then let us know that she has mentioned it to the General Manager, but he refuses to hold anyone accountable. I asked to speak to the gm directly, but he wasn't available. Hopefully this reaches someone who cares about the cleanliness and safety of their customers who are paying to consume this food. I was given the number to another Johnny Carino's location in hopes of speaking to someone "higher up". Please hold your staff accountable..

Anyway, this location is at Jess Ranch Marketplace in Apple Valley. I walked in with the intention to pick up one Hawaiian pizza. Good inside seating and limited outside seating. The outside looked like it hasn't been attended to for a very long time. Tables and chairs looked old. The ground was not swept. Just not the best appeal looking from the outside or inside. Anyway, the nice young man behind the counter greeted me right away. They weren't too busy at the time with just a handful of tables occupied. As I got closer to the counter, another staff member assisted me. She wasn't the most smiley and that's okay. Maybe she wasn't having her best day. I ended up ordering a medium half Hawaiian and half Margherita pizza. Pizza looked amazing! Crust was lightly burnt and bread was soft. Unfortunately, the taste of the pizza totally missed the mark. Pizza sauce was just plain old tomato sauce. No seasoning whatsoever. If that's their signature sauce, then it's not my kind of pie. Hence, 3 stars!
