Don't get me wrong the pizza is great and the staff are more than friendly but when I went there our utensils were still a little dirty and a lot of the stuff on our table was sticky and when I went into the restroom (men's restroom) it looked to be like there was some kind of mold or mildew all over the toilet paper like it had been wet and then left out. The owners are really nice and have good intentions especially with the prices they're pretty cheap but there are some things to be improved in the future. I really like the pizza here but most people look at a menu and expect to find the same pricing all the pricing is apparently wrong its 1.00 more per pizza and the side salads that say 1.50 are 3.00 we need places like this in lucerne valley but the prices make it hard to afford except for special occasions. We would eat here once a week if it was more affordable 5 star pizza and fish n chips 3 star pricing 3 star for time management (I've been told anything from 30-an hour for our order which is ok) but no one wants to show up and have your food cold because it only took 15 min. I'm so bummed because I always love getting pizza here for my family every time we are in the desert (which is often), but seeing as my husband is immunocompromised and not one employee is wearing a mask, I just can't go there anymore! They have a sign saying they think the rules are stupid and they have people dining inside (in defiance if the stay at home order) and obviously not wearing masks. It breaks my heart because we always try to do everything we can to support local businesses but even if they won't mask up to protect their customers I would hope they would at least have the respect for their employees not put them at risk. Someone dies in southern California about every ten minutes these days from Covid and no i'm not too worried about getting it from a pizza but certainly in door dining and working side by side without a mask will contribute to the out of control spread. I just can't understand why anyone with any heart wouldn't do the simplest and easiest thing to protect their fellow Americans and wear a mask. read more

I relied on Yelp to direct me to a great place and, once again, we were not disappointed. Tucked away in a small shopping center off Old Woman Spring Rd, you will find Rock's. We knew we found a great place when we noticed the boulder holding the glass front door, "Door Stop Rock." :) We were instantly greeted and offered any table. After our road trip, pizza and a glass of wine sounded perfect. We ordered a carafe of Merlot, side salads and a teriyaki pizza with added cashews. All were delicious. Rock delivered waters and said his pie is usually more crisp but due to the amount of teriyaki sauce it was softer. We thought it was perfect. The pizza was salty but to be expected with teriyaki and cashews. We ate until we were stuffed. I loved the home town feel and even though we were strangers, Rock and his team made us feel as though we were locals that frequented those parts on a regular basis. We explained a food allergy and they even took the time to clean the utensils before making our pie. If you find yourself in the Lucerne Valley, take the time to visit Rock. Yesterday was my first time visiting Rock's Place. I have been driving trough Lucerne Valley for over 20 years and only recently started to slow down to check out the local businesses. Three days ago, I was passing through and spotted a sign that said Rock's Place. I pulled over and brought up their Yelp entry to see some photos and I was intrigued, the pizza looked pretty amazing. There were only 10 reviews at the time, but it had them at 4.5 out of 5. I had to try it out so I did. I was exploring off road in that region of the Mojave and dragged my mom and pops out for the day and even told them about this place. When we were finished, we stopped in for an early dinner. We ordered an extra large House Special for with Jalapeños on top for $18 bucks and got ourselves a basket of Jalapeño Poppers served with a small cup of their own home made ranch dressing. Our server was so sweet, she just made the experience even better. The poppers were gone in no time, they were sizzling hot inside, but extremely tasty. The batter is not very greasy or oily at all like other places I've had. Then our pizza arrived, all 12 glorious slices of it! We didn't hesitate and so we dived right in. I managed to kill about four slices and I have to say, I've had a lot of pizza at a lot of places around the country, but I think this places just topped my top 5 pizza places! The crust was so perfectly golden, like a light toasted exterior and a soft fluffy interior. It made all the difference in the world. I know so many places that have chewy crust, almost with the consistency of rubber, but not here, it was damn good. I later learned that they make all their pizza dough every morning before they open shop. This is going to be my 'Go to' place for pizza from know on, I don't care if I have to drive from Victorville, you just can't beat their pizza! Great job guys, I'm giving you a 5 out of 5 hands down. Let me preface this review by stating that the 5 stars has nothing to do with me being in love with one of the waitresses here. Haha, no I'm joking, I don't even know her. The pizza though. It's definitely one of my favorite places. They don't skimp on the toppings at all. The prices are about what you'd expect at a non-chain dine-in pizza place. Please do yourself a favor and give this place a try if you're passing through on your way to/from Big Bear. The restaurant was dark and looked closed. There were no cars there at all. I checked the door and they were open. It was my first time at Rock's. The marinara sauce on the spaghetti and meatballs was excellent--good garlic flavor. The garlic bread was also very tasty, especially dipped into the cup of leftover house Italian dressing I had on my salad. The spaghetti was drained and not watery. The meatballs were mild but tasty. Overall, a good experience. The lighting was dim so most of my photos did not turn out. I did post the two of the new menu that were readable. Pizza, pizza, pizza. You cannot go wrong with Rock's. Toppings are perfectly cooked with tasty cheeses and just the right amount of crust. It is a bit of a wait, but you cannot rush good pizza. Best pizza EVER. Found them on Yelp even though we seen a few negative reviews, but they were mostly about attitudes and wait times which doesn't usually mean bad food. And if you had to render living in a god forsaken 115 deg. Dry, dusty hell hole in the middle of August you probably would develop an attitude to, lol. It took about 30 minutes to get our order we were polite to our waitress and she returned the gesture and was extremely nice and professional. We could see the owner in the kitchen working feverishly to get the orders out, I'm sure he puts in long days and has to put up with employees which are kinda like taking care of kids some are better than others, it's not easy running a business. Went to Rock's to watch my girlfriend's son and his band debut in public. I thought I would at least have a few beers and catch the show. Well, I decided to order an extra large pepperoni pizza. I'm sure glad I did. This is the best pizza in the High Desert. I'm from New York and have a keen sense of what pizza should be and this is how it's done. Wasn't sure how good the pizza would be way out here but holly hell let me tell you, this was easily one of the thee best pizzas I've ever had. Hands down in the top 3 for sure.
