I went to the Jackson Clinic at the recommendation of my daughter, who works in the PT realm. If you are looking for a place to do therapy, this is the place to go. I was always greeted with warmth by the front desk staff, who are professional yet friendly and take the time to learn your name and remember who you are. At my very first appointment at the Centreville office, with Julia Guerrant, DPT, she changed my life. That sounds melodramatic but it is true. The shoulder pain I had been living with for 8 years was actually a neck problem and it is 100% due to her knowledge and expertise that I am feeling so much better. She not only does amazing hands-on work but also takes the time to teach and explain the mechanics of the body part she is working on, all while being a real person with a wonderful sense of humor! The other people who are instrumental in your care are the exercise specialists. I worked with 3 people over the course of my care, one who moved on, one who was filling in and the primary one, Melissa Martin, who took the time to show me the exercises and make sure they were being done correctly, while being available to help others. Melissa made hard work fun and easier to manage and also took the time to make sure I could continue the exercises at home. I always felt like I was working out with a friend instead of being at an appointment with someone doing this because it was their job. The final part of their PT experience is being taught how important it is to continue their work at home by doing the exercises and making this a part of your routine. At the beginning of November I had AC reconstruction surgery on my right shoulder after a biking accident. I visited several physical therapy clinics before I walked into the Centreville Jackson Clinic. The welcome I received from the receptionist, Mariam, and help from Debra May, the Office Manager, in clarifying my insurance question ended my search. Kari DeRohan, my physical therapist, tackled my shoulder by massaging, kneading and soft tissue and joint mobilization. She was enthusiastic, friendly, and fun; which helped get me through my twice weekly sessions. Kari was very helpful and insightful in developing a treatment play. With her guidance, I went from barely being able to raise my arm to having probably more range of motion that I had before the wreck. She had me working with Kellie, an extroverted, energetic exercise therapist with an infectious smile and laugh. Her mobilization drills helped strengthen my shoulder and improve my posture. Using straps, bands, lacrosse balls, pulleys and other exercise equipment I am noticing a rapid strength in my shoulder. Kellie's creative interaction gives you the willingness and confidence to tackle the long road to recovery like it's just a walk in the park. The game ready ice pack machine is to die for. I leave the clinic motivated and exhausted; but excited because of the successes I have and the new challenges I am presented. At the Jackson Centreville office, Dr. Jackie Winn was my doctor and Melissa Martin was my exercise specialist. These two are an excellent and caring team. Dr. Winn directed my care in a professional and knowledgeable manner and also took the time to help me understand my condition. Physical Therapy was not easy and it took determination, but understanding my condition helped me to understand why she was applying pressure in a particular location and why she was directing Melissa to have me do this stretch or that exercise. Dr. Winn was meticulous in examining and diagnosing my condition. Melissa Martin was meticulous in directing my stretching and exercises. She was patient and kind to answer my questions. Also, she never missed an opportunity to encourage me with a smile or a word of encouragement. She was like that with all of her patients. Melissa printed out pictures of the stretches and exercises with directions so I could do them at home during my off-therapy days and after "graduation". Because of this successful therapy, I have been able to continue playing in a rock band and transporting the necessary amplifiers and equipment. Now I avoid pain by stretching first, strengthening the muscles in my core and lifting with proper mechanics. All of this is why I rated Dr. Winn and Melissa with 5 stars. My life is back on track. I just finished a course of therapy at the Centreville Jackson Clinic. I was impressed from day one. Each session featured approximately thirty minutes with the physical therapist (Rob), who assessed my problems and progress while giving hands on therapy. During this time, I could also talk about practical issues I was having. For example, when I had a long drive planned, I knew that this might aggravate my hamstring problem, and Rob went to my car with me to help me find the ideal position for my seat. At another time, we discussed more appropriate seating for computer work and relaxation, and I was able to make some helpful changes. His expertise and encouragement helped me remain optimistic in the face of many issues that surfaced during my treatment. After the session with the therapist, Rob and the exercise specialist (Melissa) conferred about what exercises I should do for the rest of my session. I found the exercises challenging, but not overly stressful. Melissa was always able to adapt or change an exercise when I couldn't perform it or it wasn't achieving the desired result. She was always patient, optimistic and encouraging. The atmosphere at this clinic is professional but laid-back. The good-natured camaraderie among all of the team members , along with the varied, upbeat music, makes it a very pleasant place to be. read more

I would like to share with you my story about my experience with the Jackson Clinics Physical Therapy located at 5900 Fort Drive, Ste 208, Centreville, VA. I have been enduring a neck pain for the last 15 years. I had difficulties turning my head to left and right to check what is behind while driving, and could not keep my head up for any appreciable time while looking up. My family doctor referred me to the above clinic for physical therapy. Frankly, I did not expect much from it considering the duration of my condition. Now I see how I was wrong. After 12 sessions of physical therapy with Dr. Julia Guerrant, I feel like a new person again. She combined sessions of wisely performed manual therapy with a series of exercises directed towards neck, hands and back muscles relaxation as well as strengthening the back muscles to unload the stiffness in the neck area. Certified trainers and specialists Jacob Bloodworth and Melissa Martin worked with me hard to implement the plan that produced really nice results. Most importantly, Julia and her colleagues trained me to alleviate my problem on my own, so I can get back to norm wherever there is a need for it. After starting an exercise program (finally) later in life (read, late 40s), I went full-tilt, not really knowing what I was doing. As a result, over time, I managed to really do a number on my lower back. After suffering for a few weeks, I made an appointment with The Jackson Clinics for an assessment. I am SO GLAD that I did. I was introduced to my physical therapist, Sofia, who did a thorough assessment to let me know what was likely causing my pain. Just knowing that it could be resolved was such a relief. Working with Sofia and Jacob, we put together a plan to help work on my numerous challenges -- tight muscles, weak core and shoulders -- all of which were contributing to my back pain. In just 6 weeks with Sofia and Jacob, I made amazing progress and learned SO MUCH! Both Sofia and Jacob were great listeners and also challenged me to think about how I was approaching common exercises in order to improve form and reduce potential for future injuries. I now have strategies to help me work much smarter in my exercise plan. Over the 6-week period, we worked to make exercises more challenging and to discuss what to do if I should face some of my common problems again (such as my one hip being out of alignment). I wanted to thank everyone at the Centrevill Jackson Clinic for all of their hard work and helping me recover from my rotator cuff shoulder surgery. I started going to the clinic in February of 2017 for physical therapy for my left shoulder. I had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder in July and returned to the Jackson Clinic for physical therapy in August 2017. I was there three times a week for five months. Debbie and Brittany, the ladies at the front desk, were very helpful and worked hard to get my insurance company to approve my new therapy! Hilary and Rob were my therapists. Melissa was my excercise specialist. In the beginning, I couldn't even lift my arm! But they were very patient and encouraging with me. With their helpful techniques I got better each day! I was sad to be discharged last week! I spent a lot of time with these wonderful people and consider them my friends. Now I have to find a new place to hang out! I also want to thank Jacob and all others for filling in and helping me when my reqular therapists weren't available. After a recommendation to seek physical therapy by an orthopedic surgeon in order to strengthen my left knee, I selected the Jackson Clinic in my hometown of Centreville. For the past two years, the pain in my knee was so sharp that it prevented me from participating in various actives such as using the stationary rower or step-master machine at the gym.. Physical Therapist Julia Guerrant, who incidentally is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, treated me during my six weeks of treatment and I could not be more satisfied with the outcome. To be truthful, I was a bit skeptical of going to therapy however, after Julia's prescribed strength building exercises I noticed that my knee was not hurting as much as it had in the past after a few weeks of therapy. Most important to me that despite the fact that Julia has many clients, she made me feel that during my time with her I was her most important client. She is pleasant, professional and extremely competent as a physical therapist. I have just completed six weeks of physical therapy and I am back to all previous activities without pain. I've just completed by second outstanding rehab program at the Jackson Clinic in Centreville. I had strained my achilles tendon and Julia Guerrant thoroughly evaluated my problem and designed a program that rapidly strengthened my foot. I had only a few weeks before I had to leave on an overseas trip but Julia, working with Jacob, not only got me better very quickly, but gave me a set of exercises to do while traveling. When I returned a month later, Julia did a final evaluation and sent me off with a set of exercises to keep doing at home. I was very pleased with my experience at the Jackson Clinic though not surprised because last year they did so much to help me rehab a bad quad injury. Over four months I worked with Hilary, Julia, and Sofia and with both Jacob and Melissa as trainers. They were all thorough and professional. These are serious people who tailored each of my sessions based on my condition that day. At the same time, they are so friendly and outgoing. We initially reached out to the Centreville location during the pre-booking phase to schedule an appointment due to my father's severe pain. We were given a date for September 11th, which felt like a long wait given his condition. We then attempted the Fairfax location but had to cancel because the journey was too taxing for my elderly father. When I circled back to Centreville to rebook, I was confident our appointment was set for the 31st, a Thursday, having rearranged my entire week to accommodate it. To our surprise, we received a call on the 30th saying we had missed the appointment. I responded immediately, and given that we live merely 5 minutes away from the therapist, we could have still made it on time. Unfortunately, that flexibility was not offered to us. My father, in his fragile state, had been greatly anticipating this day. We definitely feel we have been given the run around. The miscommunication and lack of adaptability added to our distress. We still hold hope that things will go smoothly for our appointment, which is now almost two weeks away. read more

I have been going for physical therapy at The Jackson Clinics since 2005, but only recently at this location. I think physical therapy in general has greatly improved since I first began, and at this location I have gotten more from it than ever before! Not only are my issues addressed very well and with professional excellence, but I have been thoroughly educated about why I'm having the problems and also how to address them at home. This is the BEST possible combination. When I am at home and not scheduled for an appointment for few days, it's ever so helpful to apply the techniques--I call them fixes. These are specific actions beyond the exercises I am given. I feel in control of my condition and because of the therapist takes to educate me, I understand what is going on and why the exercises will help. I have told countless people about this clinic and even yesterday I saw my doctor and ended up telling her about one of the treatments for my cervicogenic headaches. I so heartily recommend this clinic and of course physical therapy in general. read more

I want to start off with I've never been to physical therapy, but I was blown away from this experience. I'm always met with smiling friendly faces at the front desk asking how I was. When I thought of physical therapy it was more of I say what hurts and they show me what exercises to do. Complete opposite at Jackson's, Rob took his time making sure what was wrong. What my range of motion was, where the pain was located and telling me what was going on with my shoulder at all times. Once my shoulder was feeling better I started to feel a pain in my forearm. He didn't skip a beat and focused on how we could solve that problem too When it came to the exercises I was in good hands. Rob told Bryan everything about my condition and got to work. Telling me why I was doing the exercises, if I felt any pain while doing them. I was always excited going to my PT appointments. This was my third time using the services at the Jackson Clinic in Centreville, Va. I have nothing but positive comments about the facility, the therapists, the exercise specialist and the office staff. The facility is spacious and clean and has all of the equipment necessary to treat any ailment. In all three times that I had to use the therapy services, my main therapist was Dr. Rob Sigler. He is an amazing person and an excellent clinician. He is very focused and attentive to his patients' needs. Melissa was my exercise specialist who made sure that I understood how to do my exercises correctly. Melissa has a nice personality and she seems to love her job. I have to say that I really enjoyed our sessions together - she made working out more fun and enjoyable. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable in all types of health insurance benefits. Yes, I recommend The Jackson Clinics' location at Centreville. It is a nice environment. Even though I was there for a not-nice reason, i.e., weakness and physical pain, I always felt good about going there. While I saw several Doctors of Physical Therapy there, the one who I saw most recently and the one with whom I concluded physical therapy was Jacqueline Winn. Jackie is clearly knowledgeable and skilled, she is pleasant to deal with, she was attentive to my needs, and most of all, she helped me get better. The exercise specialists, Melissa and Jacob, are good too. They were patient with me and helpful while I was struggling to do the exercises. Importantly, all of them helped me learn how to go through life without hurting myself again. For example, Melissa taught me how to lift heavy things using my legs and core so I don't hurt my back and neck, which is a skill I will always use. Ultimately, these professionals will work you hard, but it is all about getting you better. read more

I have been to the Centerville clinic for 2 separate reasons. Both times saved my life! Rob and Melissa were wonderful to me and truly helped me get back on my feet. As a mother of 2 elementary age boys I need all the energy I have to get through my day! Both were knowledgeable courteous, listened to my complaints and knew what needed to be done to get me back to me!! The second round of PT was a year later after surgery. Rob took the time to call me before the surgery to wish me well and let me know they would be there for all my needs! Jacqueline and Melissa got me back on my feet again after the surgery much quicker than I would have anticipated. My PCP referred me out for physical therapy due to recurrent headaches possibly related to neck issues. I went on to receive care from Julia (therapist) and Jacob (exercise specialist) at the Jackson Clinics in Centreville, VA. After diagnosing the neck issues, Julia developed a program to address neck tension, posture, mobility and strengthening. Both Julia and Jacob not only worked closely with me while I was there, but also helped me with at-home exercises. They monitored progress closely, and adjusted in-office visits accordingly. And after three months of therapy my headaches were gone! At discharge, Julia and Jacob encouraged me to continue some exercises at home to prevent recurrence of headaches. Beside that, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in finding appointments that fit my schedule. Not that I hope to need therapy again, but I would be back to Jackson Clinics in Centreville, VA if I had to. And for sure with a request for Julia and Jacob! read more

From the receptionists to the Physical Therapists and there devoted assistants, they are exceptionally professional with outstanding dedication and super results. My main PT was / is Dr. Sophia. She and her assistant Jacob were consistently encouraging and praising of my efforts to regain mobility and strength. They designed a program that I could use on a daily / weekly basis... that I continue to use to this day. Even if I needed to see another PT (Julia and her assistant) they were of equal capabilities and professionalism. I appreciated the "hands on" manipulation of my troubled areas. I think one of the best assets is... that I can still reach out to them if I have any questions and or concerns. On my last day there, I was provided with their business cards and encouraged to get in touch if I needed to. A quick shout out to Seth... This review is long over due, however I want to personally thank Hilary, Julia, Jacob & Melissa for helping me recover from being diagnosed with hip dysplasia. I worked with all 4 of these fantastic specialists, for a little over 3 months and I left with a big smile. I was in unbearable pain in February/March of 2017 and started attending the sessions twice a week, as of July 2017. I previously went to the same location, in spring of 2014, due to back pain and they did a phenomenal job. The staff at the Centreville location are so friendly and are a blast to work with. They definitely challenged me, in every way possible, however this helped me get better and experience a lot less pain. I would highly recommend going to this location, with any physical therapy needs that they can assist with. I will be forever grateful for them getting me back on track and pain free. Thanks again! I have recently finished two months of PT for back issues at The Jackson Clinic in Centreville, VA. They were recommended by a close friend. As a RN, I tend to be cautious about selecting health care providers, and I couldn't have been more pleased. My physical therapist, Julia Guerrant, PT, DPT, was professional, caring and extremely knowledgeable. She always listened to my concerns and followed through in investigating the causes of my discomfort. Since she is getting her post doctoral certification, she even had two instructors evaluate me and add to my care plan. I would highly recommend Julia without any reservations. My exercise instructor, Melissa, was also wonderful and thorough with teaching me to do the exercises correctly.
