The Jalapeño Grill is a wonderful little eatery in Collinsville. I believe it is family owned and operated and the family, or very close knit group of people are absolutely wonderful. The ambience is wonderful, the place is clean and the food is some of the best Mexican Food I have had in Oklahoma. Beside Mexican Food, they have great Cheeseburgers and on Fridays, they serve a healthy portion of wonderfully prepared Cat Fish. I have eaten here regularly and never been disappointed. The service is always excellent and the staff is very happy while being of service. If the staff here is not Family, they sure seem to be very close. Everyone works to gather wonderfully, very courteous and service oriented. On some days, there are children of the owners/staff at the restaurant and they are always very well behaved and add a sense of home to the atmosphere. I had a beef taco and a chicken taco. Neither had a lot of seasoning, but they both tasted good. The customer service was friendly and attentive, and this place was hopping. We didn't have to wait - but you can tell they get a lot of customers. The chips were thick, fresh and crunchy, though they could have used salt. The salsa was very mild, so if you enjoy milder Mexican food, you'll probably like it. If you prefer more heat, it's easy to spice it up yourself. I asked for some hot salsa and it was very hot! I also noticed that the hamburgers looked good, and the steak fries looked amazing. They looked like Red Robin steak fries. I'd definitely be interested in trying those on my next visit. If I ever go back, I will ask for the steak fries with the tacos. I think my favorite thing about this restaurant is the interior deck where it's like you're in a cabin. Stopped in during a car show held on the main street. Super hot day. Went in for lunch and to cool down. Was greeted by the friendliest people who I assume are the owners and sat right away. The restaurant was packed this day due to the car show. We went thru the menu and put in our order. They provided homemade salsa and chips and had $2 margaritas. The authentic Mexican food served at El Jalapeno Grill is a very bland, lightly seasoned version. It tastes fine; it is just not seasoned to the level I enjoy. Very mild tomato salsa, very little heat in the salsa picante. The beef in the enchilada and taco seemed unseasoned. Neither was lacking in beef; both were generously filled. The chili on the enchilada was the exception to the absence of seasoning. If you order a sauce on something order the chili. The restaurant's style of relleno was stuffed with yellow cheese, battered and fried to a nice crispy crunch. On its own it was very good. But the bland tomato ranchero sauce didn't offer any flavor. The salsa couldn't help either. If you order the relleno get queso or the chili on top. If you prefer very mildly seasoned Mexican food this may be your 5-star restaurant. read more

Long time patron of El Jalapeño! The food is good, but the service is even better. We always get greeted as if they know us (even if they may not), and are most often times seated quick. I love going to this place to eat. their food is so good. not sure if it's the owner or manager or both but he walks around and chats with people. He has even been our server. he is a very welcoming man. The ambience is a Mexican feel. there is a Wishingwell that we have to stop at for my granddaughters. Yum! We happen to be over near Collinsville checking out the roller rink and wanted a high star-rating-restaurant to go with it! Jalapeño grill fit the bill and the Yelp picks made up my mind, solid. We got there around 6:30 and waited for about 30 minutes. The waiting room area is very small; knees bumping, sitting closer to strangers than I do to my relatives. So we wondered outside to lean against the building and hold the door to all who were exiting. The staff was incredibly friendly and handed al who were waiting menus to look over. Once we were summoned we were seated in tall backed wooden booths and created with a fresh basket of chips and salsa. All of our food choices were winners! I don't make it over to Collinsville much, but when I do I make a point of stopping here! The food is delicious, the service is always good, and as a vegetarian, I love that there are some unique options beyond your stock standard Mexican fare here. My go-to is the fried avocado dinner, which comes with two halves of an avocado deep fried, covered in queso, then filled with meat for my carnivorous friends (just more cheese for me ) I LOVE this dish as it's unique and so flavorful. The salsa and queso here are also very yummy, but I would definitely suggest finishing off your meal with a sopapilla--so light fluffy, like a little cloud to deliver delicious honey into my mouth. They have plenty of TVs and a bar here, so you've got all your bases covered. If your up Collinsville way, this is a must-try! read more

Amazing for a small town Mexican restaurant! Everything I've tried has been very well cooked and prepared. We often call in our order and do carry out. They almost never make a mistake and if they do they are very good about fixing the order ASAP! They also give you a large amount of chips and salsa with carry out orders. Their chips are always very fresh and delicious! The queso is really good! And their fajitas are wonderful! They also have really good enchiladas, burritos and tacos.
