Server No clue his name, but he was clearly either bored or impatient. Atmosphere Well it sure doesn't look like a Mexican restaurant. Nor does the menu scream Mexican. Food The fajita burrito is okay at best. Putting lettuce in the burrito causes it to be soggy from the heat of the chicken. The burrito is full of beans and not much chicken. The chicken is okay. That's it. The beef chimichanga she claimed was real good. Overall I'm not too impressed. But she was. Military Yes

Food came out sizzling hot. Great flavor. The margaritas tasted so good and a great size for the price. The service was great. Great waitress. Lots of decorations all over the walls

The food is hot, fresh, well prepared, looks good on the plate and the servings are large. The restaurant is clean, attractive inside and the service is fantastic. The authentic Mexican food served at El Jalapeno Grill is a very bland, lightly seasoned version. It tastes fine; it is just not seasoned to the level I enjoy. Very mild tomato salsa, very little heat in the salsa picante. The beef in the enchilada and taco seemed unseasoned. Neither was lacking in beef; both were generously filled. The chili on the enchilada was the exception to the absence of seasoning. If you order a sauce on something order the chili. The restaurant's style of relleno was stuffed with yellow cheese, battered and fried to a nice crispy crunch. On its own it was very good. But the bland tomato ranchero sauce didn't offer any flavor. The salsa couldn't help either. If you order the relleno get queso or the chili on top. If you prefer very mildly seasoned Mexican food this may be your 5-star restaurant.

Yum! We happen to be over near Collinsville checking out the roller rink and wanted a high star-rating-restaurant to go with it! Jalapeño grill fit the bill and the Yelp picks made up my mind, solid. We got there around 6:30 and waited for about 30 minutes. The waiting room area is very small; knees bumping, sitting closer to strangers than I do to my relatives. So we wondered outside to lean against the building and hold the door to all who were exiting. The staff was incredibly friendly and handed al who were waiting menus to look over. Once we were summoned we were seated in tall backed wooden booths and created with a fresh basket of chips and salsa. All of our food choices were winners! Even the kiddos loved the chicken in the quesadillas. I can't wait to go back.

I don't make it over to Collinsville much, but when I do I make a point of stopping here! The food is delicious, the service is always good, and as a vegetarian, I love that there are some unique options beyond your stock standard Mexican fare here. My go-to is the fried avocado dinner, which comes with two halves of an avocado deep fried, covered in queso, then filled with meat for my carnivorous friends (just more cheese for me ) I LOVE this dish as it's unique and so flavorful. The salsa and queso here are also very yummy, but I would definitely suggest finishing off your meal with a sopapilla--so light fluffy, like a little cloud to deliver delicious honey into my mouth. They have plenty of TVs and a bar here, so you've got all your bases covered. If your up Collinsville way, this is a must-try!

It looks like it has to have been in a previous life, an old-time, small-town convenience store where you pull in, gas up the boat, fill the ice chest with cheap PBR, grab a pack of night -crawlers and head to the lake. Now, the small inconspicuous building is split down the middle. A dispensary providing medicinal stress relief to the community operates in the west side and the family owned and operated Taqueria El Sabor Jarocho restaurant fills the remaining half. Driving into Skiatook from Hwy 75, the restaurant is unnoticed, and is equally invisible as you leave town headed east; mostly hidden by the vehicles parked under the old gas station canopy. It looks more like a small used car lot. The letters stenciled on the border of the old canopy that once proclaimed the restaurants existence have faded to extinction. Inside there is a small dining area with six tables that occupy the restaurant's allotted half the structure. Somewhere behind the wall in the remaining space is a functioning kitchen. A damn good one! Chips and good mild salsa come with the meal. There are several other varieties of salsa available. All good. The one that was in the little to-go cup was the best. Flavorful, a little smokey and not extremely hot. I bet they have a green salsa too. Hot plates came to the table. My wife had the beef enchiladas covered in an authentic red sauce (not tomato sauce.) Plenty of flavor on the plate, nothing bland. Beans and rice, tasty delicious as they should be. I went with the Mega Burrito. A bloated over stuffed flour tortilla filled with equal amounts of beans, rice, fajita beef, cheese and a little lettuce. The burrito was covered in queso. Excellent! The dining environment ain't enticing, but the authentic Mexican food is. 4.8 stars from over 200 reviews on Google back that up. Very good service.

I thought the refried beans were above average! I ordered a "regular" margarita but got a giant one. :) It was OK. Pretty typical. Chips and salsa were good. Definitely going back to try other items. We got seated and offered menus while we placed drink orders and got a bowl of queso to go with the chips and salsa. The salsa is a little underpowered in my opinion, lacking a lot of flavor. The chips were a little thick and harder to chew up.... not bad, just not light and airy... but the tradeoff is no wimpy chip, so they're not going to break off in your dip. The queso was of the thinner variety with a lighter, less robust flavor than some others. It stayed thin and workable throughout the meal, which is a definite plus over the ones that harden to concrete before you get halfway through. Son had the beef quesadilla with ground beef and he said it was very good, one of the better ones he's had. The small bite I took confirmed that. I had the mexican enchiladas (that's actually the name of the dish, not any type of description), going with beef, chicken and cheese. The dish came with the usual beans and rice, both of which were really good. I place a little bit of emphasis on those, because if a place can't execute the simple sides well, there's not a lot of hope for the entrees. The enchiladas were all good. The cheese one was thick and creamy. I would have preferred some diced onions in there, but that's just me. The chicken one was well flavored, full of shredded chicken (fajita chicken is an option), and the beef one had plenty of seasoned ground beef. Of the three, the beef was my least favorite, I think because it was a textural thing. I still demolished all three of them, so no complaints at all. Sides of guac were fresh and well flavored. Service was good, especially considering the full house, with more at the door. Prices were very reasonable in my opinon. My entree and the queso were just north of $20 before tip. I would definitely go back, especially to try the fajitas, which looked really good at another table.
