Crazy how this place gets overlooked in St. Charles. Dave's Burritos is one of the things you pass by without much thought because it doesn't look like much. It happens to be surrounded by crap in a strip plaza. Also the inside isn't that impressive either. The bright side is the flavor and big ass burritos stuffed. Basic looking that doesn't bring attention. It's a good thing because it's not crowded. There's not a lot of others here in line. Had a hard time believing it would be any good. Of course we have been wrong about that kind of thing. It's $8 for the Vegetable Burrito. This is stuffed with the usual ingredients like beans, rice, and tomatoes. Massive burrito. This was big enough for a couple people. For sure it's one of the many great places that are hidden in strip plazas you see and think aren't good. It's located in Main Street Commons close to a Giardano's and a spa. There's authentic flavors along with options for vegetarians. read more

I ordered 2 tacos asadas and a horchata. The tacos were delicious and loaded. The horchata was especially good. It might've been the best I've had. There aren't many affordable places to eat in that particular area. I'll be stopping into Dave's at least once a week. read more

The food quality is always consistent here! The tacos (asada, chorizo, pastor) are delicious! The meat is tender & savory! They have increased their prices, but I blame it on inflation. We had a good experience at Dave's Burritos. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. We had the Chips and Guacamole appetizer, Chile Relleno dinner, Chicken Burrito, Chicken Taco, Beef Taco, and complimentary chips and salsa. The food was delicious with generous portions. The price was reasonable as well. The dining room was clean and well-maintained. We all agreed on four stars for this restaurant. Tons of dead bugs (like bees, yes, bees) by the windows. You can see them from outside. I still went in and while waiting in line, I saw a handful of small bugs crawling on and into the drink machine. Could have been ants, or maybe something else. They don't skimp on the protein, so you know you'll be getting a very filling meal. Their salsas are delicious and add so much flavor to the already flavorful items. My husband and I visited on their grand opening and were very happy with the outcome! It was evident that the staff was anxious and excited to get up and running and will do whatever it takes to please their customers. This was definitely the authentic Mexican we have been looking for, for a long time. I had the Carne Asada, and it was one of the best I have had, even compared to a high end Mexican restaurant. Ordered a steak burrito. Very bland and obvious it was just hamburger meat. Burrito unraveled halfway thru the meal. Very salty as well. Meal was ready in less than a minute which now I see is a bad thing. How someone can screw up a burrito is mind blowing. read more

I went here months ago and had steak tacos and they didn't leave a good impression on me and I vowed not to come back again until today I had some cravings for Mexican food, and this place is close to my home, so I thought, why not give them another chance. Big mistake. Today I ordered chicken burrito suizo with no beans. Absolutely the most worst burrito I ever had eaten in my entire life. There were literally cold cheeses inside the burrito and the chicken was so bland. No flavor or seasonings. Not even extra salsa verde sauce could save the burrito. I should have known it was gonna be crappy when my burrito was already ready in less than 5 mins after ordering. The only saving grace was the horchata. It's so delicious.
