Cadillac margarita

Jack was an amazing server. Oooooooo this food is GOOOOOOD. I think I'd call it fusion Mexican. The vegetarian tacos are to die for. The margaritas!!!!!! The ones I got were spicy and unique. See my pics. We were only getting a little snack but I want to try more someday. This place is huge and has very cool festive decor. There is an enormous outdoor seating area but it was too hot to sit out that day. I would come back here for dinner for sure.

Very nice modern restaurant I was very surprised that it was the mother's day weekend and the restaurant was empty. The service was great the food was good I really liked the rice and the beans I had the skirt steak but it was very chewy I don't like meat that you have to chew so much to be enjoyed they need to work on it to tenderize it. I had a drink I was hoping to be like a wow factor but it was just ok the tortilla cheap were very oily but good. I probably will never go back agin too pricey for the lack of quality of the good

Watch your bill. Their policy is parties of 6 or more have 20% gratuity automatically added. Somehow it was added to our party of 5 or more. When I called to confirm and then asked our server Cece to correct it, things got ugly. Paid my bill minus gratuity because I don't appreciate this type of business practice (having owned a restaurant). PS Gina Montana, I was speaking to Kimberly, the owner, who was inebriated (on "vacation" sitting at the hostess desk), you might want to think twice the next time you come up behind a customer and tell them to "get the *uck out". Happy to share videos of our interaction.

A bit too bougie for my preference, BUT the place is clean, with a good ambiance and the food was pretty good. Authentic mexican? No. But they do say they're modern mexican so I'll give them credit for that. I think I just prefer the places with bars on the windows, hahaa. They make their own tortilla chips but chips and salsa is not free. My taco dinner came with rice OR beans, I'd have to pay for both and they were already $21. So 3 people ate dinner for $75. No drinks, no dessert.

Coming at late-lunch on a Sunday, there is very few people here. This makes for a relaxed and casual atmosphere, which is probably different than at night or the evenings. The food was good and quality! It was enjoyable to eat and the portions were filling. Nick, our server/bar tender, was attentive, kind, and took care of us without being overbearing with our table being one of the few that has customers. He made the drinks well and they tasted great!

The food was delicious! Drinks were pretty good o feel that they could've been better. Service was great! They have plenty of parking and it's located in a cute little town.

Cucumber jalapeño and blueberry lavender margarita

Stopped by La Mesa on our dog walk to enjoy some cocktails. Our waitress Peyton was super helpful and brought our pups some water while we sat in the spacious outdoor seating area. We tried a couple margaritas and rate them the following: BLUEBERRY LAVENDER: 8/10 very sweet and tasty, got a second one and asked for it to be a double which helped make it less sweet. CUCUMBER JALAPEÑO: 8/10 the cucumber makes it very refreshing but if its your first time having a jalapeño Margarita it does have a little kick. My sister ordered this one and mentioned her drinks were too sweet for her liking. RASPBERRY MARGARITA: 9/10 less sweet than the blueberry lavender margarita but still a really good option if you're looking for a twist on a traditional marg. TRADITIONAL MARGARITA: 10/10 a good basic margarita. The chips with guac and watermelon was the perfect combo of sweet and savory. The watermelon added that extra sweetness without taking the flavor away from the guac. Definitely recommend you visit La Mesa wether it be for set dinner plans or whilst on your walk in downtown St. Charles.

Our party of 6 ordered a bunch of different tacos to share. They were ok. Service was good. Place was too dark for an evening dinner.

Every single time I go here I need to get the marinated olives, I don't know what they do to them, but it's amazing. Great farm to table kitchen with a unique evolving menu. I would definitely say that this restaurant is leading a new charge for Saint Charles as far as the culinary experience that we're looking for when we go out for date night or girls night out. Very elevated very refined very unique. You've got to try it out!

They also changed up their cocktail menu, and we were super excited to see they had some new summer drinks. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants in the area. It's perfect for special occasions and date nights. The first two times we came we sat at the bar, but we came right when they opened and were able to be seated at a table. I love the candlesticks they have lit at the tables. There's a a view of the kitchen as well. To drink, I had the Dip in the Backyard Kiddie Pool (very refreshing) and Fresa Fresca (basically a strawberry margarita and it was super refreshing and tasted like strawberry juice). For dessert, we shared the oreo carjillo. It was pretty strong to me, but it definitely tasted like Oreos and milk! To eat as an appetizer, they gave us complimentary bread and butter and we ordered the sundried tomato oil to go along with it (a must). Their bread is so soft and fresh. We also got the bone marrow (forgot to get a photo), and it was some of the best we've had!! For our entrees, we got the two pasta dishes. They called them "small plates" but it was the perfect amount of food for us with our appetizers. I had the spicy carrot rigatoni pasta and it was super fresh. I love that they cooked the pasta al dente.

I was disappointed that their beans have pork and they couldn't substitute for non-pork. Since the beans are in many menu items it really limited what I could eat. We got the corn ribs, flautas and burrito. The corn ribs were good and the flautas were okay. I really disliked the burrito because it had whole broccolini which made it impossible to take a bite. I felt like I was constantly pulled veggies out of the burrito rather than being able to take an actual bite. For drinks, I got a virgin Paloma was which just as pricey as an alcohol drink and had so much ice I finish it in 3 sips. It's a cool space but wasn't for me.

We initially tried to dine at Tia Carmen's downstairs, but the wait was too long--so we headed upstairs to Revolución instead. We were among the first guests. The service was friendly, though not particularly attentive. Our server didn't check in often, and we had to wait quite a while for water--thankfully, the busser eventually stepped in and kept our glasses full. The food was tasty overall. We weren't fans of the chips served with the guacamole; they were more like plain tortillas--dry and lacking salt. That said, the rest of the meal was enjoyable. My suggestion to management: even when it's slow, make sure tables have water and guests are checked on regularly. A little extra attentiveness would go a long way in improving the experience.

On my…read morevisit here, I had the opportunity to try two dishes off the shareables menu and was super impressed with both of them. Service was also quick and friendly throughout the entire meal. The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium. The food here is definitely memorable and in line with excellent options available in Geneva.

I visited Rec Haus for the first time a couple months ago, and have been there a lot since. I…read morerecently looked at their Yelp reviews, because I wanted to leave one of my own. I'm going to leave my honest review while also noting what I saw from other people -FOOD is actually really good here! And it's gotten better since they first opened. They added a lot of stuff recently. My first time there I had a wrap that was huge and really good, fries are epic. -DRINKS Their beer wall is literally local, not "fake local" with Chicago beers lol. They have a really wide range of things at the bar and cocktails were cool, but I haven't tried too many of them. -GAMEPLAY has content deals going on, huge selection of games, impressive variety for the space. -VIBE is EPICCCCC. They hit the sweet spot for being kid friendly, corporate friendly, and college frat boy friendly all at the same time. Super rare to be able to pull that off. It's laid out well and designed well for that to happen. I've seen moms work at the bar tables with a beer and lunch whole their kid goes to play games. I've been there myself with kids around and during late night hours and never once felt like I was around a bunch of children or a bunch of belligerents. Impressive. Good for LITERALLY anyone and everyone. -STAFF has been pretty helpful 10/10 times. I feel like they're all super kind which reflects on the management in my opinion. When I've had a problem or noticed someone else was a bit upset or hadn't gotten fast service on busy hours, they seemed to be willing to problem solve (I like to eavesdrop). I think they're well trained to work with customer service in mind, again has to be reflecting on management, -NO CASH! This seems to be the new norm at a lot of places, and they don't do any extra CC fees that literally every other business has. Honestly, I've seen some people that maybe had a bad experience and they could have been more understanding before reviewing, but I've been the same way. All that said, I love this little gem in St Charles and it's nice to have some variety in options out here. I want to see small businesses do well so they've got my loyalty for sure!

I'm sure that there were folks there who really wanted to catch the Yankees game. Anyway, the woman calling bingo was losing her voice and did not really add to the experience. (She was very friendly as opposed to the rest of the staff.) They allowed young children to sit at the bar for bingo, which surprised me and is uncool in my book if not illegal. I don't want to sit at the bar next to your hyper pre-teen. The food is self serve. You order via your phone. Pick food up at the kitchen window. Food was decent enough. Plastic utensils. The bartenders (and I was one back in the day) were inattentive. Asked the busboy, who sort of lurked behind the bar washing glasses from time to time, for a box to go and he pointed to a table set up for to go orders. Thanks, man. Charging a 3% credit card fee when you don't accept cash is absolutely lame. Yes, debit cards are free. I didn't see that until after I paid the bill. There is a pour your own draft system with about a dozen beers but that doesn't impress me. An undersized bags, bocce and putting green. Some decent new arcade games. I guess it works just fine as a Chuck E Cheese alternative with fewer games and a full liquor bar. I can safely say that I won't be going here again for a date night or otherwise.
