We discovered our new favorite Mexican restaurant, Burrito Los Azaderos Mariscos on Main Street in Saint Charles, Illinois. This place is amazing. Walking inside it felt like an authentic Mexican restaurant, the music and the shows on the TV monitors were all in Spanish. The floor and the furniture was a bit worn, but immaculately clean. The service was great, attentive and friendly. There were six of us dining together, and we ordered 3 Chili Rellenos Dinners, a Steak Taco Dinner, a Chimichanga Dinner and a Quesadilla Dinner. The portions were huge, served hot, and were absolutely delicious. We also noticed the table next to us ordered some fish dinners that also looked incredible. We also appreciated the full disclosure of the up charge if using a credit card. This was clearly identified on our bill. We were offered two prices, one if using a credit card and a second price if paying with cash. We have eaten out every week for the past 11months and this is the first time we have seen a receipt with the two options. This was appreciated. We will most definitely be returning to Burrito Los Azaderos Mariscos for more delicious Mexican meals. read more

Fist time ordering from this place. I don't think they read the request. I order chilaquiles verdes, got red. Order with sour cream and cheese, I got them all plain. I ask no onion, it had onions.. No flavor. Am disappointed on that. Rice and beans no salt or flavor. Meat was not the best, but it was ok. A bit hard to chew. It was somewhat pricey for the food being a 4 or 5 out of 10. I went in with a group of 7 people. There was definitely room because no one else was in here. Service was slower, due to a language barrier there was a lot of incorrect drink orders and miscommunication. Nothing against someone working but it made for a not good experience. Stopped in here for lunch today after dropping a package off at the UPS store. Burrito Los Azaderos was very convenient as it was in the same shopping center as the UPS store. I went inside at 12:02 pm and it was dead. Not a soul in sight. I assumed that I might have been early for the lunch rush. The waitress asked where I wanted to sit and I told her a booth is fine. It's been instilled in my mind that I always sit in a booth because my wife prefers to sit in a booth. I quickly looked the menu over and saw they offered a taco dinner for lunch. This included 2 tacos, rice, and beans. I went with the steak and pastor tacos. The server then asked if I was from around here, I told her that I just work down the street. She then proceeds to sell me about how they have a mariachi band on Friday nights and they do Karaoke on Saturday nights. This is all fine and dandy but I no intentions of coming out this way after work as I do not live in the area. Before my food came out they brought out complementary chips and red salsa. The salsa was A+++ It tasted great and wasn't too spicy and had just the right kick. The chips were also fresh and crispy. After munching on that my tacos arrived. My waitress asked if I wanted green salsa and I told her that I would like some but she never brought it to me. She later apologized and lost track. Stuff happens but it would have been nice to try their green salsa. The tacos are on the bigger side and not small like street taco. I first dove into the steak taco. I don't know if they forgot to season it but the steak lacked any type of seasoning. My doctor thanks you for this, but my taste buds were screaming for some sort of seasoning for these steak tacos. They were just OK. I powered through that taco by dumping red salsa all over it. Up next were the pastor tacos and again they were OK. The pastor just had OK flavor and was missing the sweet and delicious flavor that you would get at other places. The beans and rice was just OK as well. Overall, this place is not for me and I won't be coming back not for the food, not for the mariachi band, and not for karaoke. My wife and I had dinner here last week. The guacamole and chips were VERY good, excellent guac. For dinner, my wife had chicken enchiladas. She said that they were good, not great. I had the steak arrachera. It was good, not great. Service was good. The portions were very large. So make sure you go hungry. :) read more

Stopped in for dinner on Wednesday night at 5:30pm. Stayed till a little after 6:00pm. No other customers the entire time I was there! Was given a menu by the cook and told to sit wherever I wanted. The waitress came by and told me the prices in the menu were not updated - hate this at restaurants! Ordered and got the chips and salsa! Excellent with some heat kick to the salsa. Food was good and service was too. However when I paid the bill after reviewing it, there was a "card fee" added since I'm guessing I paid via VISA. While I can understand restaurants wanting to pass along costs, I wish it to be fully disclosed before it happens. No signs or mention in the wrongly priced menu. Still gave standard tip, but usually more generous when I'm not being deceived by menu prices and hidden fees! read more

Great service and even better food! We often have fatty pieces of meat in our tacos at several of the other places we have tried and did not find a single piece of fat in our food here. Their salsa and guacamole are amazing! Prices are extremely reasonable which is important and hard to come by in this economy. We will definitely be back! read more

I stopped in here for a quick lunch. I planned on eating in, so I sat at the bar and got a menu. I ordered two tostadas. In about 6 minutes my tostadas were presented to me in a brown bag to go. I never asked for my food to go, and I was sitting at the bar with my coat off. Strange, right? That's the docked star. One would think you would want customers to enjoy the restaurant experience. I also wanted to enjoy chips and salsa, but I didn't get any, I guess because the guy assumed I wanted my food to go. Hahaha...All and all, the tostadas were very good and all the toppings were very fresh. I did have to eat them in my car, but I would give the restaurant another try. For a Mexican restaurant, this place does not know how to prepare "huevos rancheros." The eggs were completely overcooked, and the fried egg was burned and ended up as a HARD BOILED EGG on an overcooked tortilla. Completely unappetizing and a waste of money. They need to send their cook to cooking school. This place doesn't even serve water with your meal. Will not be returning. read more

The whole place is gross, the place needs to be cleaned and washed , walls need to painted and booths replaced or repaired. I could look past that if food was good it wasn't it was the worst Mexican food I eaten in long time. We revisited on a Friday night around 8 PM. They had a great karaoke host, but the place was virtually empty. I ordered the asada quesadillas again, because I was craving more after our lunch experience. This time around was not the same. Other than the delicious chips and salsa, the meat was full of gristle and fat. Our server did not speak English at all and had no one to assist her with translation. She did the best she could, but the language barrier made it quite difficult to communicate. This place is new to the neighborhood and has great potential. The owners have really done a festive job of transforming this former bar into a clean, welcoming Mexican restaurant. The menu is fairly limited, but the owners and chef are willing to make any dish that suits your fancy. The guacamole was freshly made and a perfect starter. The tacos, offered a la carte or as meal, were delicious, especially with a little added salsa. We've gone their twice and will never go back. 1st visit we ordered our kids meal chocolate pancakes. It doesn't come with a drink. So we ordered each kid a milk. It came in a kids cup. My wife and I ordered amazing meals. Full of flavor and spice. Then when I ordered a milk too. Got our bill and it was over $60! They charged us $4.95 for each glass of milk. A kids cup cost us $4.95 each. That was strike one. Went there last week. My wife and I by ourselves. The special was your typical special but with NO REFILLS on coffee....what! Strike 2. Then when we got our bill they rounded our bill up to the nearest Dollar! Labeled it as "No Cash Adjustment". They take credit/debit cards, they don't have any sign up saying they'll do this and no one told us. I added a photo. Strike 3! Really enjoyed the Carne Asada a la Tampiquena, but there's a nice variety of choices as well as a bar and entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. I have had nothing but great experiences here. The food has been good. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. And the owner Oscar always comes out to makes sure everything is good. I enjoy going there at least once a week. Also glad to find out that they are extending their hours till 9pm instead of 3pm. And now will be serving mexican food. Went in here to try it out and get something to eat. Went in there were people at 3 tables. I stood up front looking at the menu for 5 minutes with not even a hello from anyone. Finally a guy came behind the counter, looked at me and completely ignored me. In fact then the phone rang and he took the phone call and took their order. At this point it was comical to me. I was totally getting ignored. Guy behind counter came out and started talking to guys sitting at a table. Well I got to 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement that I existed. Will tell everyone I know not to go to this place. As an individual who worked in hospitality industry for 15 years, i've never been treated this way at any place. Came with my family. We love Mexican food. The service was great. The waiter was very nice and there was hardly any wait time for our food, the chef started cooking right away. They are a little disorganized and the bartender wasn't great (used Cuervo margarita mix) but the food was so damn good it way more than makes up for it. Easily the most authentic Mexican food I have had anywhere in the US. I got the carne asada which came out as a skirt steak with baby onions and a diced jalapeño on the side. I cut it up and ate it like fajitas with some corn tacos. It was so delicious. The chips and salsa were very authentic. If you are looking for traditional chain American-style Mexican food this isn't for you but if you want some real authentic and super flavorful Mexican food you will not find a better choice. I have eaten at this place for the last time. Had dinner with my daughter tonight. Had a taco salad with ground beef, hold the guacamole. On the menu it stated that pico di gallo is included. My taco salad arrived without pico, so I asked the waitress for some. When the check came I was charged $2.99 for the pico. I asked why I was charged for the pico. She said she would get the owner. Got a story how the guac and pico are mixed together, and since I said no guac, that was me saying no to the pico. So, when I asked for the pico...that was determined to be requesting a "side" of pico, so then there is a charge of $2.99. Went back and forth for a few minutes. Told him the pico was not on the salad so it had to turn into a request that happened to be a "side." He, the owner mentioned how the menu is being changed and that taco salad will have different wording. I said that doesn't matter right now, this is the menu I ordered from. He didn't care about making it right, or having me feel heard, or make sure I left a happy consumer. We felt taken advantage of. There are enough restaurants and mex restaurants, they won't be missed. So just beware if you go here. They WILL take advantage of you. Meh, just alright. Lots of yummy, different choices on menu and ordered the Superfood omelet. Considering all the ingredients it lacked flavor which was a surprise. Our other entree was country fried steak with gravy which also lacked flavor, needed a pop. Service was very friendly but disorganized and slow and not just with us.
