I love when the local bike shop is *truly* a LOCAL bike shop, and not some generic conglomerate that has hired locals. We got so many excellent recommendations on where to ride, what to look out for, and any setup changes we should make based on our individual setups. For those who didn't bring bikes, renting bikes was quick and painless. They took the time to get us dialed in before we were off to ride. The merch was top-notch. My only (very minor) disappointment was that the green hat that I bought to match the jersey I also bought was a children's hat. I missed that at time of purchase and didn't realize it until we were back at our rental for the night. It's okay, I brought it back the next day and they were cool about it and let me swap my kids hat for a different adult-size hat, even though they didn't have any green adult hats. I wish we had a few extra days in the area, I would have loved to join some of the local group rides that seem to meet here to ride regularly. We did eat lunch here one of the days. It was so nice to eat outside. There was a good flow of people in and out, but it didn't feel overwhelmingly busy. We had a group of 8, and yet everything arrived just as quickly as we ordered it. I had a crunch wrap. It felt like a lot of food, but it hit the spot. If I find myself back in the area, I will definitely visit again. Highly recommend.

Let's start with what we enjoyed during our visit: the drinks were good... the atmosphere was cool (more like a contemporary "cabin" vibe, which was definitely inviting)... and the staff were all stellar!! Where Ranch Camp let us down on this visit was the food. In fact, we desperately wanted to love the experience because everything LOOKED fantastic. However, all the food we ordered was bland. It all started with the pork nachos, which our party of 3 ordered as an appetizer. It was piled high and dripping with ingredients... but the dish completely lacked flavor. The pork was perfectly tender but tasted flavorless (until I added hot sauce and salt). I would also recommend they serve the dish with pico de gallo or salsa to boost the flavor. We had the same feeling with the burrito bowls. Two of us ordered different burritos (opting for bowls instead of tortillas), and we both thought the flavor was just okay. And on top of that, both of our bowls were lukewarm. In fact, the entrées weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese. I wish I would have sent the food back, but we were in a bit of a hurry. Finally, my friend James ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, which he also thought was "just okay." Oh, and we noted that a table near us sent back food... so not sure what was up with that, but we we weren't surprised based on our overall experience. Final Thoughts: Prior to visiting Ranch Camp, I read plenty of reviews praising the restaurant, so I'd like to think that they were just having a bad day.

He made sure we had the right sized bike, he taught us how to use it, potential pitfalls, sized our helmets appropriately, and did not rush us. He also shared a great tour that is a must see - go around Lake Champlain from Burlington on the Bike Trail - it is easy and has fabulous views. This is a don't-miss tour the price was similar to others in the area - not cheap but worth it I highly recommend North Star Sports without reservation. Shop was really clean, well-organized and personable. Helpful in trying to determine what would be best, he let me go for a test ride and suggested a steep hill across the street for a test. These bikes are really pretty amazing, could go up a really steep hill at 8-10 mph, with little effort, which normally one might have to walk up their bike it was so steep! They are getting in a new shipment, one of which I'd like to test ride/check out. Repair shop looked really organized and productive. Would recommend based on my experience with other bike shops and experiences, seems like they have a good reasonable selection of bikes for people, vs. only high-end bikes, that cost a fortune. Easy to access and plenty of parking too. Will be further investigating these e-bikes.

My husband and I rented bikes to take to ride on Rails-to-Trails and we had a great time! I made my reservation online a few days ahead of time. When I got to the shop they checked over the bikes and made sure they were in good working order before sending us out with them. The guys double checked that we had everything we needed - helmets, water bottles, etc., and we were on our way. We ended up riding about 30 miles on the bikes, absolutely no issues. The bikes were smooth and easy rides. My husband thought his bike was so comfortable that he's looking into getting one similar back home. I will say, the shop gets busy. Aside from myself and my husband there were four people already in the shop looking for services on their bikes. Bonus though- the two very friendly shop dogs who were there that day. Parking - the store does have a private lot on Riverglen Lane, though it fills up quickly. Further down the road there's public parking which is within walking distance. There's bike parking right next to the shop door.

Dave always looked out for me and provided Italian products that suited my taste and budget. The Winooski Bicycle Shop was also the hub to serious racers.
