Make sure you have paperwork they will try to do anything not to stick to their offers. So I have being a regular here for the past 3 year, I always buy the 20 visits. Last year I bought the 20 and they had Black Friday deal and gave me 4 for free instead of putting it on the computer they gave three little cards. I went in today and the girl at the front desk didn't take it after I asked a few question of why she couldn't take it she said it has being tamper with call the owner she said and and Owner told her not to take it. Dr. Himes is Beyond Excellent in his technique, professional expertise, kindness, care and integrity. The other doctors do a fine job as well. The front office staff was always friendly and hospitable to me. But the problem that I had-and it was an unacceptable deal breaker-is the store's disregard for its patients' privacy. There is no other way to put it...The Joint Downey is set up to indulge oddball voyeurs...I'd always make sure to go for my session when practically no one else was in the store or even waiting. Yet despite there being plenty of empty chairs in the front counter area, at least once every 3 to 4 visits-sometimes more, sometimes less-one person or another, without fail, always some lone male, with the excuse (or, guise?) of using the restroom-would enter the treatment area, sit down, and stare at other clients, including me, getting worked on! Despite what the owner or manager says, it is irrelevant that the starer "had to use the restroom" or "just wanted to wait there." In the two years I was a client, there were several times I noticed one dude or another sitting there staring at me while I was receiving treatment. It is indeed what prompted me to cancel my membership. On what turned out to be my final visit, there was utter quiet. Dr. Himes worked on me and it was the most beneficial session I had had to date, as I get very nervous, since movement in my upper and middle back can be a bit painful--but that last time I was relaxed, the store was calm and quiet, I felt good and everything (or so I thought) was perfect. The other two doctors were present but not busy but quietly sitting about. As soon as the doctor was done with my treatment, I stood up and I looked to my left and not only was some strange dude sitting practically next to the table I had lain on--of all the 10 or 12 empty chairs against the wall in the treatment area--he was sitting in the chair closest to my table (and closest to me) staring at me with a stupid grin on his face and trying to talk to me. All the stress, tightness and intensity in an instant returned to my being. That was it. DONE. Never Again. I don't know what that guy was doing or thinking and why was he staring at me anyway? And the gall to speak to me as though I'm at a bar or something! The owner or manager first apologized to me, but after my first review, which he apparently did not like, he doubled down on his defense that the store has an "open bay" setting "...and you knew it." Yes I knew it, but I did not know that the Joint in Downey indulges gawkers. It is highly unprofessional-and to me strange-that the Joint in Downey permits people to wander about and watch patients placed in vulnerable positions and undergo medical procedures. I would not want some stranger to sit and watch my dentist work on me, and I would not want someone to sit and watch my orthopedist examine my arm or foot...yet I was expected to tolerate such tomfoolery at the Joint. read more

They were really kind about me needing to change my appointment a day before, asked me all the necessary questions and were friendly all around! The staff has difficulty executing basic customer service skills. I was forced to fill out forms despite being an existing customer. I was questioned regarding my answers instead of the staff reading the forms which answered the questions. They host other businesses employees to hang out and chat with them as they are "working". When you attempt to ask a question about the service they act annoyed you interrupted their gossiping. They are on a conference meeting with the full volume on. I can hear your company meeting while simultaneously blasting a Christmas movie. Also asking and forcing for non pertinent information is very violating of my privacy. My son plays baseball and had been complaining about discomfort to his arms, shoulder, neck, and back. He saw Dr. Magafas, who was wonderful. She is experienced and confident. She took the time to adjust him and stretch him out. I also got adjusted by Dr. Magafas for back soreness and I had a lingering headache. She took the time to listen to my concerns while she adjusted me. I will say that she used the right amount of pressure to adjust me. By the time my son and I left the place, we both felt 100%. My headache went away, and I didn't feel any soreness to my back while driving back home. My son even asked me to drive him back for another adjustment with Dr. Magafas next week. The young lady at the front desk was professional and friendly. She was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions regarding the different package options. I've been coming here for a bit over a month and I have to say I love it. I came in unable to move my neck with some upper back and shoulder stiffness. Now I'm feeling almost good as new. You'll see a number of doctors in this facility each with their own style but they all do a great job. Unfortunately to write a review covering each individual I'd be here for way too long so I'm going to focus on the people ai see most. Kevin is the doctor I've had the most sessions with and he is fantastic. He has a fantastic bedside manner, listens, comes up with great solutions, and is willing to talk through all of your issues in a very clear manner. I love how much he's helped me and will always be willing to wait until he's available when I come in. Crystal is a receptionist here and there's just so much to say about her. She has a very warm and outgoing personality that really caters to a position that requires dealing with customers -and let's be real some customers are a pain- which makes walking into this place such a treat. I love having conversations while I'm waiting around and she always has something interesting to say. And her hair!!!! Just way too cool. Irene: I don't see her very often but she was the first person I met at this office. She really sold me on the monthly plan -they have several so I don't remember what it's called- with her kindness and professionalism. Unfortunately my schedule conflicts with her so I don't get to see her often when I come in but when I do it's so nice to catch up.
