I've seen 2 different chiropractors at this location: Dr. Rick and I can't remember the other chiropractor's name right now, but he was pretty tall (over 6'). They both do things differently, but the adjustments were fine. I've been doing chiropractic care on/off for over 30 yrs. The Joint has some Pro factors: - multiple locations - relatively low cost on a subscription basis - 7 days/wk - can go to ANY Joint location on a subscription or pkg - great for maintenance, and for uncomplicated issues - visits are quick - doesn't take insurance plans, so this allows them to offer better pricing (this reduces paperwork; the Joint gets the money quicker and passes on the savings to the customer since there's no delays in getting payment as would insurance cause) Cons: - Not for people probably who have some more complex issues where you probably need a full service chiropractic care - Can have a bit of a wait if there are not multiple chiropractors there when you go if there is a long queue When I had more complicated issues I wanted addressed, I did go to a full service chiropractor and it was considerably more expensive. It was great for what I needed. But at this point, I just need maintenance and only want to pay for maintenance visits. I read someone complain the Joint doesn't take insurance. If they did, the cost would cost way more than the $79/month for 4 visits and $10/visit thereafter within the same month. THAT is really inexpensive and affordable. That breaks down the monthly 4 visits to be just under $20/visit. If I went through my insurance, it's $25/visit and my insurance limits me to 12 visits/yr. Here for $948 for a year, I get 48 visits, which is a deal. There's no limit to the number of visits I can do as long as I'm willing to pay for it. The pricing makes it reasonably affordable for people with or without insurance. In my case, it's less expensive to pay cash and since no insurance can be used, it's even better. No EOBs. Easy, quick transactions. To the person that said he paid nearly $2K before he realized he was still being charged, that tells me he is not a person that pays attention to his finances because that takes about 2 years to do at $79/month. Maybe don't realize for 1-2 months, but 24? Yet, he's mad at the Joint. When I signed up for the subscription, it did say you have to give WRITTEN notice. The person did not abide by the terms yet is mad at the Joint for his failure to do due diligence. If something comes on my credit cards or accounts, even any charge of $1 too much, I'm quick to see that and to take action. To the person that was upset that he gets to the Joint close to closing time and they're not able to accommodate him, the chiropractors and personnel have no idea where you're driving from and it isn't their business. The JOINT is not by appointment and is a walk-in chiropractic place. Just like with any WALK IN business, it's first come, first serve. They are not responsible for how you manage your time. They want to give each person that comes in the proper time to do the adjustments. It's not a long visit, but they need to attend to the people that were there first. If you want to pay a lot more for your visits, there are plenty of other chiropractic places you can go to where you can schedule your appointment. And to another reviewer that slammed Dr. Dean, it sounds like you have more complicated issues than you think. I'm not young anymore, but I've been physically active my whole life, and on/off gotten chiropractic care. However, I can't say that I'm all that disciplined in doing stretching, mobility exercises, keeping my joints and muscles in good working order as I had jobs where there was a lot of sitting, and am a rather intense person. I own that I can greatly have many subluxations in my body. If the chiropractor is telling me that I'm not doing enough to keep my body in good mobile shape, it probably is so and I need to be diligent and disciplined to do the upkeep EVERY day. An old chiropractor I had said if all his patients did what he said, they would put him out of business. But he knew that people are lazy and undisciplined and want to blame someone else for their problems. That person said she's not easily offended, YET she was easily offended. Anyway, the 2 chiropractors and receptionist were just fine at this location. I'm just trying all the Joints within reasonable driving distance for me and then narrow it down to 2-4 that I want to go to more frequently. read more

This place is nothing but a scam. Did you get their monthly membership, you have to fill out a piece of paper to discontinue it. I called to ask about that and they said no we'll go ahead and cancel it over the phone. I went almost two years thinking it was canceled and found out they took over $1,900 during that time. So I was told to email corporate and they said they checked the phone records in that I never called. But they never asked what phone number I called from. Pretty funny huh? Bunch of liars is all it is. They're just bone crackers. I had to quit my membership because they wouldn't handle an insurance claim because they're not qualified to do it. I tried this place 3 times. I should've realized that after the receptionist was hard selling the package deal, that was the first concern. The chiropractor talked more about the sales pitch than my actual pain. I explained 3 times that id rather pay each time when needed. I can't afford membership....The 3rd visit was NOT good at all. There was no one waiting & he rushed everything!! When he landed on my hip my left side was not on the table right. The pain seared thru my ribcage. I've lived with BAD rib pain for 2 weeks now. I went to a very gentle chiropractor that put me right after 2 visits. No pressure about a stupid membership!! My rib tips were out....Im very sorry i ever went. Stay Away! read more

Interesting business philosophy with this location, to say the least. On Sundays, this location closes at 3:00PM - I arrived at 2:35PM to be told that the amount of people they had waiting excessively their hours of operation. There were 4 people. Unfortunately, the management of this location is not mindful of people driving 20 minutes to see during business hours. Good luck with the 'Customers need us, not we need customers' mindset. I should preface by saying I'm not easily offended and have never left a business a bad review, but my experience this morning with Dr. Dean Stuart was exceptionally bad. I woke up with a sore neck which progressed throughout the morning. By the time I came in I was in a lot of pain. I had difficulty laying down and was physically shaking and holding back tears from the pain. Dr. Stuart showed zero sympathy and immediately started making wrong accusations about my health. He repeatedly told me my neck and spine were severely injured and damaged given my "history". "You get frequent headaches/migraines don't you?" "You've damaged your neck and spine in the past pretty severely."....???? I'm young, very healthy, active, have never been seriously injured, in a car accident, or even broken a bone. I come in occasionally (maybe twice a year) if I start to get a stiff neck. Otherwise, never have headaches or any pain. He repeatedly berated me for not taking care of myself and compared me to a "700 pound women exercising for the first time". So offensive. I had difficulty laying down because of the pain and was trying to relax but physically shaking and holding back tears, due to pain. He was obviously annoyed by this and told me he was going to send me to the ER/urgent care if I couldn't handle the pain. Zero sympathy or patience. I asked about a topical cream and pillow recommendations and he told me my injury was past the point of worrying about that. He continued to belittle me saying I'd waited too long to take care of my "health" (literally came in a few hours after noticing my neck was sore??) and made several offensive comments about my apparently degenerating spine (compared me to an elderly person and said an x-ray would show how damaged my spine is.) Afterwards I could hardly walk out of the office due to pain and was crying. No one at the front desk said a word to me as I left. Needless to say I've found a different chiropractor and won't be coming in for the 4-5 additional adjustments this week, as recommended by Dr. Stuart. read more

Wow! Probably one of the better chiropractors I have ever received and adjustment from. He was thorough in diagnosis, moved my neck where many others had struggled. Gave me suggestions to help my adjustment hold and even recommended to do some of my own research. I've recommend others and they have had a good experience, as well. When it is your health, the right doctor counts. I don't know what your problem or needs are, all I can say is after getting an adjustment out of convenience b/c I was close I am back for more (3rd visit). Dr. David is my favorite Chiropractor in the East Valley. I saw him once years ago at another location and was sad when he disappeared from that location. Eventually I found him again and have been going to see him since. During each visit, he examines my range of motion and tailors his treatment to optimize my body's performance. He knows how to use force and get out the kinks that others miss. There are locations closer to my house, but when I can, I drive a little further out to Gilbert. There are plenty of good Chiropractors associated with The Joint, but when I call the Gilbert location and confirm Dr. David Lee is in, I know I will soon be feeling great! read more

After my first appointment with Dr. Stuart he told me I had 'severe spinal issues' which lead me to ask him if he planned on referring me to a physical therapist or a doctor that specialized in spinal issues. He then proceeded to yell at me (loud enough so that everyone in the building could hear) - saying that he was the only person who could help me. Not only do I feel that this is the answer of someone who doesn't actually care about my health, but I'm not sure why it would ever seem appropriate to yell at a customer. read more

This was the most painful adjustment I have ever had! I wanted to try The Joint for convenience because of the weekend hours. I will stay with my regular Chiropractic after this negative experience. The adjustment actually made my back worse instead of better. I tried telling Dr. Lowe how much he was hurting me but he did not seem to be listening. I have not heard anything from the office since my visit, no follow up email or anything. I guess if you don't sign up for the monthly plan that's the end of the communication with you. It was not relaxing at all. The music was loud and fast and Dr. Lowe talked fast the whole time. I do not think this place is set up for older patients. read more

I would highly recommend this location of the Joint! Last summer I was having very bad neck pain and couldn't turn my head. I had a bad experience with a different Chiropractor and decided to try the Joint. I came to this location because of the doctors experience. I first saw Dr. Stuart and he is great! He was so patient with me as I was anxious about neck adjustments due to my previous experience. He walked me through what he was doing and what the next steps would be. Because of my schedule, I now see Dr. Lee and he is also great! He always explains where the tightness is in my neck or back and explains how he is adjusting as he works. For the most part, I think their services are great for someone who needs a quick fix. For someone who has horrible back problems like me , I felt like I need more attention on my body then a quick 2 minute crack and pop. Also I recently moved away and got a second job. So I called to cancel my plan and lady told me I would have to go in to one fo the joint office to fill out cancelation form. So I stopped on the way to my 2nd shift, close to my work. The lady there tells me I have to go to the office I had signed up at. Well that office is far from me now since I have moved. I called and asked if they was any way I could have the form faxed to me or emailed and I was told I would have recieved a call back from the chiropractor which I never did. Still have not been able to stop by to cancel so I have now paid for 4-5 months that I have not been able to go to at all. Still not able to cancel. Makes me very upset that I am having such a hard time canceling and have wasted hundreds of dollars of service I am not able to use currently. I'm literally going to have to call in a sick day just to go to the office and cancel my memebership. read more
