The staff was always welcoming, professional, and attentive. The chiropractor doctors here- Dr. Kwon, Vanderford, and new to me Dr. DeMarco do take their time to thoroughly understand if something is bothering me or just my usual regular adjustment. The adjustments were gentle yet effective, which helps my mobility and comfort. The clinic itself was clean, calm, and well-organized, which made each visit feel relaxing and stress-free. I came here for my experience back in December after feeling some tightness in my upper back. I had just had my 3rd baby and figured I would come in for an adjustment. This was the first time I have ever had chiropractor experience. At the time I had Dr. Lopez as she was filling in and she did a great job. I have now been under care with Dr. Kwon and he is absolutely amazing! He always does a thorough job I never leave in pain I leave feeling light on my feet. I had a very disappointing experience at The Joint in National City. I arrived at 6:52 PM and was never greeted by the receptionist. Instead, she appeared irritated and bothered that we walked in. I let her know I had already checked in through the app, but there was still no acknowledgment or basic courtesy. Shortly after, Dr. DeMarco came out and told us they were closing and wouldn't be able to help us unless it was a very quick adjustment. That was frustrating, especially since I had already checked in ahead of time. I asked whether I would lose my credit due to not being seen, and when the doctor asked the receptionist, to remove us from the queue she had an attitude. I asked for her name and she refused to give me her name and dismissively told me, "don't worry about it,". At that point, I expressed how poor the customer service had been--specifically that I was never greeted and felt unwelcome. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the receptionist became argumentative, insisted she had been friendly, and even asked me if I was "done" speaking. That response was unprofessional and made the situation worse. I've been here before and had much better experiences with another staff member who is always warm and welcoming, which made this interaction stand out even more negatively. I left feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. Based on this experience, I don't plan on returning if that receptionist is working. I have been coming here the last couple months for a back flare up. Service is great. The desk attendant always greats me with a smile. Since I have a membership the checkin is super easy you scan your card upon arrival which is very quick and easy. My visit with doctor V has been great! I make sure to go when he is working. He is very informative and knowledgeable on the issues I had. With his recommendations I was able to recover fairly quickly. Since I sit all day my back gets tight. The space itself is clean and spacious. They have two beds in the back and a seating area along with a basket to place your items while being worked on. I wish Dr. Haley, who I fondly call Dr. H sometimes, were here on more days. He's one of my favor chrios in down -- behind Dr. J who was once at the East Lake location. He is patient, compassionate and caring when working with you. He is also very sensitive to whatever is happening with your body and takes the time to hear you before starting the adjustment. Also, he will encourage you to rest on the table if he senses that you need the extra time to get ready for the adjustment. Because of the level of respect he brings to his practice, I trust Dr. Haley completely. There are some movements that give me a bit of nervousness, and Dr. H is so patient about talking you through. I have come to him nearly unable to sit and having difficulty bending in any direction and, always, I have left either feeling improved or feeling much improved later in the day or the day after. I also appreciate that the wait is never more than 10 minutes here (in my experience) and it is located in an area with plenty of activity -- right off the highway. You can grab a coffee and do some shopping before or after the adjustment. read more

Had multiple instances where I would go and the offices were closed on random days despite showing open online. Membership cancellation is unavailable online or via phone you needed to go in person despite being out of town. Refused to delete my credit card information for an account I had no access to cancelling. Their billing is just very NOT people friendly or understanding, it's a corporate problem. I've never had this much trouble cancelling a membership and for these prices you'd think they'd be a little more considerate, again corporate not the actual business location. It's such a smooth and efficient environment. I come in, I scan my membership key ring card. My information is populated for the receptionist. She/He tells me my remaining sessions. I normally sit for approximately 5min while I'm sure the chiropractor looks over my specifics. They called me over to the back room. We exchanged greetings, and asked if there were any areas of concern. I state them if any and crack and straightening and alignment is completed. Dr., will then ask how I'm feeling. I respond normally that all is well and if not better prior to coming in. As I head for the door the receptionist will normally, " say bye, and have a nice day". read more

Was told that they give Priority to established patients (I'm a new patient) and they can't see me today due to an expected rush when the doctor returns at 3:15pm. Dr Ida has adjusted me twice so far and I didn't know what I was missing out on! I started treatment in LA (I travel back and forth) and those first visits were really quick, some chiropractors seem to be in a hurry and don't ask many questions. They just crack you in the same 4-5 different ways and they tell you:" ok have a good day! (I guess that's my cue to leave) When I came to this National city location, Dr Ida asked me questions and even after adjusting she made sure I left with a better range of motion. She would make me lay down again and try more things. The next visit she did the same. Asked about what needed attention and tried different adjustments to help me feel better. Also showed me some at home stretches. I was honestly considering stopping my membership with The Joint because of how slow the progress had been in LA with just a 3min visit when I clearly needed more work done. Now that I discovered Dr Ida, I am confident every visit will be worth my time and health. read more

I've visited 7 or 8 different chiropractors over the course of my life, but this was the worst by FAR. She was absolutely brutal, banging way too hard on all my joints, so that I left the office in a lot more pain than when I'd arrived. She kept claiming that it still hurt because it'd been a year since I last saw my old chiropractor, so my body was completely out of alignment. This argument doesn't make any sense, since I hadn't seen a chiropractor for at least 4 years when I went to the one I saw last year, and he fixed my back with the greatest of ease. Dr. Ida assaulted my joints and muscles for 20 minutes, and I had bruises for days afterwards. I told her at the beginning of the visit that I have fibromyalgia, and she claimed that she specializes in treating it naturally. This was an obvious lie because anyone who knows the least bit about fibro would know that my nerves are super sensitive and my muscles are tender, yet she kept digging her fingers into my muscles and asking "Is it tender here? How about here?" Another huge clue she doesn't specialize in fibromyalgia: she couldn't even pronounce it! They tried to coerce me into buying some sort of membership, with all sorts of fine print. She said it was only $19 a month, but then when we were considering purchasing it, they mentioned there's a 6 month minimum! And the $79 one has a 2 month minimum!! AND it only includes four visits -- any more than four, and you have to pay extra. What a scam!!!! I was in a lot of pain when I got home, and it wasn't until late that night that I stopped feeling sore. I decided it wasn't worth following up with such a terrible chiropractor, and instead I waited for Monday so I could visit my old chiro Dr. G. My old chiro was AMAZING. He adjusted me in less than three minutes, and my back felt like new right away. He had great bedside manner, and his prices were FAR better. Since it had been a year, he offered me his groupon prices ($10 a visit!!!!) and I didn't even have to buy the groupon, he just charged me $10. He also has a monthly membership that is $69 for UNLIMITED massages, so it's a far better deal than this place. Go on groupon and find him yourself. I won't say his name here but it won't be hard to find him. Don't bother with The Joint. Some other things that has been baffling my mind ever since: she gave me a slip of paper with some youtube links on them, and told me to watch them. The concept of someone printing out a youtube link is hilarious to me. Also, she directed me to a website and told me to read 'Dr. Van's Bloss". That's exactly what she wrote on the paper. Except when I checked out the site I found that Dr. Van has a blog, which I guess is what she wanted me to look at? Anyway, it's pretty clear she never has a clue what she's talking about and only gestures in the vague vicinity of what she means. read more

National City location on E Plaza Blvd. Worst chiropractor ever, and I've been getting adjusted for 17 years. Dr. Ida Spector was very rough and sudden in the adjustments, didnt have me take a deep breath and exhale before adjusting. She asked me a question and as I was responding she pushed down on my shoulder, forcing my breath out. My neck feels a little better but theres zero relief in my lower back which is the reason I went in. It actually feels a little worse now. There's a second doctor here who might be better, but I'll just go to the Eastlake location next time where I had much better care. She was also very pushy about signing me up for the "$19 package" which isn't one of the pricing options. She made it sound like it's so much cheaper and saves money, since I said price was the reason I dont go often. If you buy the $79/mo package its $19/visit, but that's $79 a month, and 79 is a much bigger number than 19. I told her twice I didnt want to at the moment, just trying to get adjusted for today and I can't commit to going 4 times a month. read more

I wish I never hesitated to visit the Chiropractor. My own fears and doubts had me in agonizing pain for over a week. Doctor Haley at the Joint in National City was amazing! He explained everything in detail and explained every step of the way. Turns out I have a sprained SI joint and my right leg was 2 inches shorter than my left. He made his adjustments and I honestly feel so much better. I need a few more sessions and I'll be VGTG. I highly recommend this Joint. They are all over Socal. The their wellness plan is $59 for 4 visits. That's about $15 per visit. I'm hooked. If you're in pain dont wait, get seen by The Joint ASAP. Also a big shout out to Tina the receptionist that made the whole process seamless. She e mailed me the forms and I sent them back and there was literally no time wasted. Went to the chiropractor in National city regarding a billing issue.ghetto fabulous receptionist that works on Mondays. No mannerism. Speaks to you like your beneath her and like she owns the place.literally a yelling match.Very rude and disrespectful. Didn't care that a child was present. My child and I had became members. Barely Going on month 2. The next billing date had issue's.instead of helping resolve and issue starts yelling at me. Asked her to lower her voice and not to speak to me in that tone. Dr.Vanderford Sits there and doesn't do anything but sit on his phone.pretends none of it happened. I asked to speak to a manager.No manger on site or available.She would not give me her name.Tried to Cancel my membership and asked for a receipt. No proof of cancellation given.until days later a form was sent for me to fill out.Manager Carolyn calls me 4 days later and apologizes states her receptionist will be retrain. Wow!Mind you there's recording and cameras and all that will be done is retrain.Take a look at other reviews on Google and on here and make sure you know what you're getting into before you become a member. They do not respect the hours that they post and claim to be open. They have signs that they stepped away on different days and hours for different occasions. I usually go to the location in Las Vegas by my house but since I'm in town for about a month and a half, I decided to make sure that I use up all my visits before the month ended and came here for my treatment. My visit to this location was about 2 weeks ago and on 4 hours of sleep in a span of 4 days so I feel awful that I cannot remember the name of the dr that adjusted me (I wanna say his name is Steve but cannot confirm that 100%) but he was great. I'm not really understanding the negative reviews. I've been going here about 2yrs and never had a single issue with a receptionist or doctor. My favorite is Dr. Jason and he's here at least 3 days out of the week. My 1 and only irritation is that I wish the Saturday and Sunday hours were just 1 more hour longer.
