Writing a review seems a bit premature because I haven't had a chance to see any lasting results. I have been having hip pain and decided to try chiropractic care for starters because it will take a while to get in for an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon. I had an MRI but it wasn't really clear and the doctor was afraid to work on it because he didn't want to make things worse. He suggested acupuncture instead so I had an appointment to go back and it did provide temporary relief. He said it would take multiple visits so I agreed to another appointment Time will tell. I found Dr. Tim & Q a few years ago after asking FB friends to help me find a chiropractor after I threw out my back. One of my co-workers mentioned TQ. I am so glad that I went and continue to go years later. Dr. Tim is so jovial and always has a smile on his face. He is funny!! I think secretly he likes to hear everyone cry out in pain as he stretches and contorts their body before the big CR-A-CK! Those few seconds of pain I experience lead to relief once he finds the sweet spot and presses the muscle or cracks my body. Afterwards, the discomfort is gone and I can move again. You will become familiar with the phrase "Good to Stop." :) Dr. Tim can handle two or three patients at once. You may hear the beeping of his timers on the various machines but he runs his office like a well oiled machine. TQ strictly follows health procedures given our new normal. You receive a temperature check immediately after walking in the door. You are warmly greeted by Q, Dr. Tim's wife and Office Manager. Sanitizing stations are located throughout the office. The beds are cleaned and refreshed after every patient. One aspect that is quite unusual is you will never hear a phone ring. I think Q has a bluetooth connection hidden in her ear so the office isn't disturbed by a telephone. The office is conveniently located in Linda Vista minutes away from Fashion Valley. There is ample parking in the strip mall. It is next to a Rite Aid. Each time I come in and have a new ache or pain, Dr. Tim performs a new movement to ease the stress and give me relief. Absolutely loved TQ Chiropractic! They are extremely responsive! I was given a bad impression by a previous chiropractor, and vowed to never go to one again. This chiropractor was in it for the money and didn't even adjust me on my consultation. Told me to come back next time to begin adjusting. I decided to try another chiropractor this time, since my friends rave so highly about the benefits of chiropractors. Dr. Tim really impressed me! I told him my areas of pain and what I do in my day to day activities, and he was super straight forward. He told me what was unaligned in my body and how the effects of my daily activities can cause those problems. He proceeded to adjust me. He suggested to me to come in next week to make sure the alignment worked because our bodies are used to our misalignment, and can sometimes revert back to old habits. The moment I walked into Dr. Nguyentu's office I felt comfortable. I had typing related injuries (RSI) twice that kept me from programming and even moving my hands and I took my healing into my own hands this time and came here. ART, which is similar to what I was doing on myself with trigger point massage but with the added twist of movement while massaging the area. As an engineer I love to figure out how things work and why you massage specific areas. Dr. Nguyentu always answered my questions in his usual joking/happy manner. I have not had many chiropractic treatments from him yet, but on his ART work alone I am feeling MUCH better. Scheduling could not have been easier, I called in the morning and made an appointment for that same afternoon. Dr. Nguyentu identified the problem and went to work right away. He explained all of the techniques he was using and the entire appointment took under an hour. There were no additional/unnecessary tests or sales pitches for elaborate treatment plans. Absolute miracle worker Dr. Tim is the best chiropractor in the business! I have been going to chiropractors for about 20 years and he is the best by far! Very knowledgeable extremely patient and lets you know what is going on. I had sciatica where I couldn't get out of bed to where I felt like I could run a mile in the morning I have recommended 10 family members and friends who swear by him also. I originally tried Dr. Tim because it was suggested I see a chiropractor. I have had severe plantar fasciitis for years. My body was all unaligned, my feet and legs were in pain, and I was having a hard time getting back to normal where I could run and work out again. My acupuncturist suggested I go to One. Dr. Tim is very smart about how to treat your pain. And treats you multiple ways too. He is able to use acupressure and acupuncture. And sometimes does them all in a visit. As a public service I am giving TQ Chiro 5 stars. If you have been looking for a good chiropractor, here he is, Dr. Nguyentu is a real pro and talented at what he does. I had pain and numbness in my right arm from bad ergonomic computer work and also strain from swimming in bad form and God knows what else. Dr. Nguyentu worked with me on proper alignment, used ART and chiro to relax and release habitual tension in my muscles, had great massage therapists that really helped heal my problems, not just a spa massage, and helped me to completely heal from the pain and numbness. He didn't just treat me, he gave me exercises and tips to use to prevent further strain. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Tim and his wonderful wife who runs the front office at his two locations. They are the most wonderful caring couple who truly care about their patients. I first came to see Dr. Tim in 2010 when I moved to Pacific Beach and stuck with him, even driving from La Mesa where my husband and I lived before we moved out of California. There is no injury or recurrent problem that I have ever thrown Dr. Tim's way that he hasn't been able to fix. I've seen him for both acupuncture and chiropractic for four years and have sent numerous other people his way, including my husband who had severe knee, back and neck issues for years before coming to see Dr. Tim. My husband can now exercise with no pain; something he couldn't do for YEARS before seeing Dr. Tim. He also cured my husband's tinnitus. Dr Tim is great! I usually put off going to the chiropractor until I am unable to move my head properly or walk straight. So, needless to say, I have to get in RIGHT NOW. i have been to several Chiropractors before coming to see Dr. Tim. It seems like my pass chiropractor focused more on treating and not improving. I started coming to TQ Chiropractic for about 2 1/2 yrs and i can say that i understand my body a lot better because Dr. Tim teaches me ways to take better care of myself between my treatments. He focuses on getting to the root of the pain and not just patch on a band aid and let you go home. I feel that he really do look out for my best interest in his treatments. I have been here three times, each time I was told that he was only going to work on one area at a time, I know that if one area is off your whole back is off. I can't afford to pay for one spot at a time, and I told him I that I had a limit on how many times a year I could go to the chiropractor. I think he was trying to get all my insurance had to offer. I once had to ask him to adjust two different spots and he said that he wanted to work on one area at a time. though he did the adjustment, I don't see why I had to ask.
