    Pow Pow Bowl

A juice bar that makes everyone joyful. If not they fucking suck. The Joy Bar is the coolest place in Glen Ellyn literally and besides the bowls they also have toast. Check it out in the morning or afternoon. You can't go wrong with some kind of bowl even though prices on some things are high. Breakfast seems to be the best time to come because they have açaí bowls. If you don't want these they also have avocado toast. They're also open for lunch and have salads if you want something not breakfast related in any way. Busy at any time it seems which means people like it. The last time here I got a Pow Pow Bowl, as part of a balanced breakfast and liked this. It's $9.25 for a regular. This is made with açaí purée, almond milk, bananas, and cocoa, and is topped with almond butter, chia seeds, granola, and strawberries. Good stuff as far as breakfast. It has to be checked out for lunch whenever it is we come back here. The prices aren't all that bad for this kind of thing.

A juice bar is exactly what downtown Glen Ellyn has needed! This quaint little shop has pre-made juices, fresh-pressed shots, made-to-order smoothies, and some healthy snack options that won't put a significant dent in your wallet. The space is saturated with natural light, populated with a few tables (and a corner, window bench), and staffed by friendly and inviting people. The vibe is chill and relaxing, a great place to unwind. Do yourself, and your body, a favor and drop in for a drink or a snack, you won't be disappointed. This was my first visit and I already cannot wait to come back.

Wrong order. I ordered the Hilltopper Bowl with no coconut but received a bowl filled with blueberries, coconut and granola only. The bowl was good but too much açaí inside. However I would have preferred to get the bowl I ordered which includes strawberries and bananas also. Two stars are missing due to wrong order, large portion of açaí and no answer to my numerous calls to the restaurant.

Nice little smoothie and toast shop. Tried the avocado toasy with red pepper flakes cherry tomatoes, greens and sriracha and was quite tasty. Clean, modern space, friendly service.

I stopped in today and the early morning crew was helpful and upbeat. The menu was so expansive and healthy right up my alley! I will be a regular--so much better then those big chains you know who. Today I got the Buzzed with Cold Brew and took some fresh pressed juice to go. What a healthy, delicious and quaint little spot in the downtown. I love small biz. Nice work!

I was dehydrated, exhausted, and in desperate need of revival. I ordered a protein shake, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that thing brought me back to life. A few sips in and suddenly I could feel my soul returning to my body. It was cold, creamy, packed with protein, and exactly what I needed after sweating out what felt like 40% of my body weight. The atmosphere was just as refreshing as the shake. Everything was super clean, comfortable, and welcoming, and everyone I interacted with was genuinely nice. Bonita Bowls might officially be a smoothie and bowl place, but at that moment it was basically an emergency medical facility. I walked in barely functioning and walked out feeling like I might actually survive my life choices. My muscles are still mad at me, but at least now I have a delicious protein shake and a fighting chance.

TL,DR * slow service…read more* overpriced * one worker was running the place by themselves * good taste at least Long version: I went into this place with high hopes based on their reviews. My food took over 30 minutes to be made. The food was good but it was $12 for a tiny bowl that fell apart when I opened it, way over priced for the amount received. I had to use the lid as a second bowl. Management should just order larger bowls. $1 upcharge for substitution of almonds instead of coconut. The poor worker was there all by herself with a line to the door. If they're understaffed the manager/owner should be helping but there was no manager on duty, which is why I'm writing this. They know they are understaffed. It's not fair to the worker to deal with poor management.

The cheesecake was delicious: dense and not overly sweet. The waffle was also good, just slightly chewy with a green pandan custard filling. The staff were very friendly and told us all about the different drinks on the menu, but we just went with water because I had already had my allotment of caffeine for the day. Cute decor including paintings from local artists for purchase and giant bubble teas! It was a bit warm inside but there's also outdoor seating if you would prefer that. We will definitely return to try the Japanese cheesecake!

There wasn't very good tea flavor. It almost tasted like a powdered milk tea mix. I was also excited that they sold items from Kokoroya Bakery. This bakery had been on my list to try. I was there on the 25th and one of the items I got (matcha red bean bun) had a best by date of the 23rd. I guess I wouldn't expect a past best by item to be sold. It definitely tasted stale, along with the cookies I got.

I ordered a Goji Goji bowl, remove the blueberries, add extra goji berries, extra bananas and extra granola. When we arrived at the window, the young lady told us the amount and as I was grabbing my card she closed the window. It's cold outside, I understand, but unfortunately this adds to my negative experience. Then, the manager, an older lady, handed over my açaí bowl and closed the window. When I looked at the bowl, I only saw 4 slices of banana and a handful of the Gogi berries. I reached out to the window to inquire. When I stated, "Hi, I asked for extra Gogi berries" the manager states, "You have extra gogi berries ma'am, they are in the middle." I then said "I also asked for extra bananas." The manager then states, "those are extra bananas ma'am. You're looking right at them" I inquired again, "6 slices is extra?" The managers tone has now changed to one of annoyance and sarcasm when she says, "Would you like extra bananas ma'am?" I said "yes." When she arrives back to the window with my order, she proceeds to tell me that I substituted the blueberries for bananas. I let her know that I didn't ask for a substitution at all. The sarcasm, rashness and loose audacity leaves me appalled at the age of the woman and lack of grace she had in handling the situation. Instead of taking responsibility or using emotional intelligence, she felt the need to correct me with an attitude. This is not the reputation of the Smoothie King I know.
