Found this small cafe that's all plant based if you couldn't tell already. It certainly is one of the more unique places in Naperville. Vegan Bar is actually a juice bar and restaurant. Bad thing is it can be expensive. This is ironic because it resembles fast food mostly. Cramped place inside where you order at the counter. It's only got a few tables so it seems most people get it to go. The menu resembles a typical fast food restaurant. Has a whole bunch of options. There's too much to get, and it's a good thing it's expensive because I would be getting tons of stuff. It's about $9 for a smoothie, of which there's a few flavors. Last time I got the almond milk smoothie. It's made with almonds, bananas, and dates. They also have a few lemonades. It's about $8 for appetizers. These include the Cauliflower Bites, which make a plain vegetable actually palatable. It's about $12 for each main item. The prices certainly add up. A good one is the Barbecue Lion's Mane Nuggets. These are made with the mushrooms and almost taste meaty for sure. Also has burgers. Last time I got the Bean Cheeseburger With Fries. This is made with black beans and has the typical toppings. Has a ton more on the menu. They add more to it so it now has tons of stuff. Great tasting food and plenty of things to get that's not made from animals. It's closed Mondays. This is one of our favorite places and we feel so lucky that it's so local because it eats like something you'd have to drive out to an art district in the city or something like that. I had to go to the DMV, so stopped in for a quick coffee. I was surprised to see it here and as I walked in the place looked very small but had quite a few customers! I quickly placed my order and requested French vanilla but they only had two or three flavors (maybe just update the menu to reflect), so just went with caramel out of the syrups they had. He was about to refund me saying the machine didn't work, but it eventually did and the cappuccino tasted great! This tiny spot is well worth seeking out! There is limited but clean & pleasant seating. Friendly service & an impressive menu - it's nice to see so much more than veggie burgers & impossible meat. My daughter had the nachos, with homemade "cheez" sauce & fresh tomatoes & jalapeños. I had the "chkn" wrap with kale, tomato & cucumber. Such a great little hole in the wall place for vegan food! I got the buffalo cauliflower tacos and they were absolutely delicious. There was only one person cooking, running the counter, and serving food, so there was a bit of a wait but he was so friendly and we didn't mind waiting at all for the exceptional food! Tomato and lettuce were fresh; only things I appreciated with this meal. Burger was burned, bread too moist, fries soft and soaky, it tastes like something was wrong with it. Server communication was super short and felt like not interested in helping or overall serving. There was a hole on the ceiling and dirt and pieces dropped on the floor and the cashier counter. Inside the kitchen did not seem neat and clean. I could understand if something was happening that cause all this but staff were unapologetic about how their restaurant and how they served me and my family. Today I decided to try out Vegan Bar and I am so glad I did. The service was great the gentlemen explained some of the menu items and was very friendly. I ordered the Chkn sandwich which is a lion's mane mushroom battered and fried with a side of French fries which were some of the best I have had in a while. The sandwich was delicious everything about it was right on point. I did a side of Buffalo sauce so I added it to part of my sandwich so with or without sauce it is a solid sandwich. I will come back and I highly recommend the Vegan Bar. Ambiance is very relaxing with a clean modern look to it. Food is excellent! It was a ton of people inside Saturday and they still were so nice as they worked to get out the orders. My food was great. I had to ask for extra salt but the fries were crispy. There is no up charge for sweet potato fries which allowed my wife to get her own fries for once. They have a lot of specials and pretty much all the food has no preservatives. One lady got mad because they couldn't hold a long conversation with her as it was literally eight people in line. The cashier was sweet and polite and kept conversing with her. People are unrealistic that cashiers can hold super long conversations with you while others are waiting. The vibe is chill so why bring negativity. They allow other small businesses to promote their products which supports people. I will always come here. I visit this restaurant about 4 times per week for a year.
