Placing my order was a breeze, the employees were very friendly and helpful as I was deciding what to have for lunch. There are a few tables and it's very comfortable if you care to eat outside although most people get it to go. They give you a buzzer to alert you as to when you order is ready so you can just relax and wait in the car. I got my order home and I really enjoyed it, my favorite was the Barbacoa and my least favorite was the Pastor I would not order that again. You can taste the authenticity and the consomé is a must-have to pair your tacos with. I had three tacos and was comfortably stuffed. They may look tiny but they are packed! The workers had good service when I asked questions. I love the arepa's and the quality of the meat was juicy, tender, and most importantly delicious! The cassava fries are wonderful as well. Easily enough for two people, I have gobbled half of the burrito in the picture, and I just had to measure how much was left. I'll keep the rest for later or tomorrow. Next time I get one I weigh it! Anyway the Dynamic Duo's Burito is a delicious work in progress. They have adjusted their Mol-e-que sauce (read my previous review for more on this unique & delicious sauce) a little. I think this one may be better. These talented guys modified their pork shoulder a little too, less smoke but really tender. The Memphis AF Burito from the Dynamic Duo is better than ever! I was at the farmers market with my husband on Saturday where I saw a food truck that had "Burrito"…read morewritten on it. "Yes!" I exclaimed to myself, as I was quite hungry. My mouth watering, I approached the food truck. I was immediately taken aback by the menu; not only was it not what I was expecting, the ingredients just didn't seem to go together at all: pulled pork, mole, chili relano sauce, and...scrambled egg. Huh? Now, I lived the majority of my life in the West and Midwest, so I am familiar with the flavors; I knew that they aren't typically seen/served in this way, but, "What the heck" I thought, "maybe it tastes better than it sounds." So, I ordered.  I got the burrito bowl, because I stay away from gluten if I can, so I really appriciated the gluten free option. Upon receiving my food (the gentleman taking and filling orders was very nice), I saw that it did infact look as strange as it sounded, but I was still open minded, and willing to try it.  Pork was the only protein option, and anyone who cooks knows that the protein is the star of the dish. Sadly, the pork was terribly under seasoned and bland. In my bowl there were a heaping portion of overcooked scrambled eggs, which would have been better suited at breakfast time (as it was afternoon when I ordered), but I was trying to stay open minded. The meat and eggs was smoothered in a mole type sauce, and topped with kernels of corn.. No cheese, no sour cream, no onion, no pico, and no salt to speak of. Mole is a deep, rich sauce, typically served with chicken; in my opinion, it did not at all go with pulled pork and scrambled eggs. I took three bites, and unfortunately, I had to throw it away. I am not a wasteful person, but could not eat this food. Because there wasn't enough seasoning, the mole overtook the whole dish. The eggs just didn't make since at all. The chili relleno sauce was good, but was overtaken by the mole. I believe that the business owner was trying to take Southwest flavors and put a "Memphis" twist on it, but unfortunately, sorely missed the mark To make matters worse, when my husband tried to leave a review stating his personal experience and opinion of the food, the business owner responded to him in a condescending manner, accusing him of attacking her personally, when in reality that is not what he was doing, and he never mentioned her at all; he was simply leaving his opinion about the food not being good. But since this is not what the business owner wanted to hear, she got triggered and defensive.  In conclusion, my experience with Dynamic Duo was a terrible attempt at a fusion that doesn't work, resulting in terrible food, and equally terrible customer service. One star, because no stars isn't an option.

They had "chicharrón"; this is the crackling with enough fat and meat to satisfy someone craving that crunchy, fatty morsel. The red rice was spot on, the refried beans were that lumpy homemade texture that you get by cooking at home, and when they offered tortillas, I expected your typical Tex-Mex three flour store bought fare; they brought me like EIGHT homemade CORN tortillas. My companions had the asado (steak) tacos and the carnitas (fried pork meat) tacos...these had cilantro, onions and were in corn tortillas. The drinks were Jarritos tamarind and mango flavors. They have a humongous BBQ pit where they cook chicken, steak, lamb and pork. The service was friendly, and I felt that I was dining at one of these spots on the side of the road back in Puerto Rico. That is how good the chicharrón was. I plan to give them another try, just to taste their roasted chicken. The condiments (red and green sauce) were spot on. Many of the patrons bought their lunches to go. The pricing was decent, so next time, I will avoid the heat and get mine as a carry out.

Someone wanting to find a good fish taco in Memphis, that's who. Despite my efforts, I have never found that to die for fish taco in Memphis, and that's been disappointing for me. I'm sure it's out there, and I'll keep trying. But in the tamale trolley, I found a great addition to the spontaneous food scene in Memphis. The taco was a nice combination of flavors. Hot (as in out of the frying oil) tilapia filets. Cool and crisp cabbage and onion. Tangy lime wedges. Spicy chili sauce. Double tortillas. Mix these together, and it was a tasty treat. But why was it tasty? Really, the fact the fish was hot and the cabbage was cold and the sauce was spicy and the lime added the acidic touch ... that's why. Too many times I order a fish taco and the fish is cold (or lukewarm) or the cabbage is warm or there is some thick sauce that destroys the ability to enjoy the flavors of anything else. At $5.00 a taco, the price was right (this was a big taco - see the photo I uploaded), and it's always refreshing to support a completely LOCAL food vendor. I now follow the tamale trolley on twitter, @tamaletrolley ... I hope they will park downtown for lunch to allow me to eat two fish tacos mid day. I also keep a lookout for their brightly colored food truck as I drive around town. I recommend you do so as well. Four stars for the fish taco.

Although many trucks were expected to attend, only a few actually showed up. Thus, lines were long, and the trucks present quickly ran out of food. I had the chance to try out the Tamale Trolley, by the time I was able to place my order they had run out of tamales. So I went with their next specialty on the menu, the fish taco (and steak taco). Now I can understand the rush, and not being prepared for such a large crowd. I must say I was disappointed with what I ended up with. I started with the steak taco, it had plenty of meat, but it just did not seem to be seasoned at all. The cilantro lime sour cream dressing, needed more cilantro and lime flavor. I ended up eating the taco with only one of the two tortillas provided, the meat to tortilla ratio with just one was plenty enough. I probably would have enjoyed it more if they had not used store bought tortillas, or so it seemed and tasted. I was happy that the fish taco that I had a little more love to it in its preparation. A nice piece of fish, fresh out of the fryer and hot. That made up for the mediocre steak taco, but again, ate it with one tortilla. Some suggestions that would make it better, some lime wedges to be served with the tacos, and a house made sauce to add a little heat. Drinks more exciting than water and coke. Only three stars mainly because of the fish taco. I'll try them out again to try their tamales, but not sure how excited I should be if they're served after being reheated in their microwave.
