The Juice Laundry is more of a "splurge" place for me since it's a bit pricey; but every time I walk in, I remind myself to start going back more often! The ambience is a relaxing, plant-filled haven, complete with lots of seating. All the prep is done right in front of you, there's no secret as to what goes into your smoothie. I don't write reviews often, but sometimes a place is so good it deserves to be recognized. I lived in Southern California for about 10 years, a place that houses some of the best juice and smoothie places in the country. I have to say that the Juice Laundry is right up there with them. The place is clean and comfortable with lots of space to chill and hang out. The juice is all organic, fresh cold pressed and there is a huge assortment of options even kid friendly juices (great for me with two young girls). I'm not joking when I say I'm in there almost every day. Now that I live in Charlottesville I'm excited to have this place in the neighborhood. I tried the CB&J smoothie bowl and it was fantastic! Great flavor of smoothie and I loved the granola and fruit that it was topped with. It's a little pricey for an everyday stop (which I understand, as all ingredients are fresh & organic) but I'll definitely be back to try more things. The space is also beautiful and clean. This place is exactly what has been missing from Charlottesville and I'm elated it's finally here. Being from Southern California, moving out to Virginia has been wonderful - BUT the lack of fresh, natural, healthful foods, smoothies, and juices has been a little bit of a culture shock. Even the Whole Foods out here DOESN'T HAVE A JUICE BAR. This place is exactly what my little California soul has been craving. We got the CB&J bowl and the Cacao bowl - both fabulous. Next time I've got my eye on the vegan chili - so cool that this place has juices, smoothies, bowls, salads, and yummy snacks. As a Charlottesville resident for 15 years, I yearned and dreamed that the food scene from the West Coast would get to our community quicker than most. I was beyond thrilled when The Juice Laundry opened their first brick and mortar store in 2015 (so I didn't have to chase them down at the Farmers Market), and have been a loyal customer ever since. Even though I now live 1.5 hours away, I go back at least twice a month -- it's that good! Not only is the quality of their product far superior to other available options - organic, cold pressed, not pasteurized, glass bottles, etc - but the ethics of the business infiltrate every aspect of their operation. From composting and donating their scraps, to using recyclable packaging, hiring mindful and positive individuals, providing educational and informative materials, and providing an environment for connection and nourishment - every output has conscience intention behind it. Furthermore, they support other local businesses and showcase their products, fostering a sense of collaboration instead of competition. My favorite will always be the original Clean Green (02) juice, which has the most delicate balance of vegetables and greens, with just the right hint of fruit (I'm very picky about too much sugar). I love The Darkness (11) with activated charcoal for mornings after being slightly irresponsible. And their Coco Classic is the best dang coconut water I've ever tasted in my life. If I'm having a smoothie, the Coco Verde and The Blaze are my go-tos - but their Matcha Latte often hits the spot instead. I swear by the Fire Shots pre-travel on a plane, and can drink the Creamy Cashew (N1) nut milk like it's going out of style. In fact, if I could only eat two things for the rest of my life I'd have to go with avocados and Creamy Cashew. It's that good. Trust me. read more

Came in to get refreshed from a long drive - got the "rinse and recharge" with water, lemon, pineapple, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. It's a good drink - makes me feel like things are getting moved around in my system, which is a great thing after being in the car for so long. Juices are sold in these really awesome glass bottles that must cost a fortune, so the $8 price tag doesn't seem so bad in light of that. It's tucked away in a little nook of a shopping area on Preston, feels nice to sit out on the patio watching the folks try out bikes from the store next door. read more

When I submitted my order, they also provided an estimated time that it would be ready- in exactly 15 min. I got a text right away confirming that my order was being processed, and as soon as I parked, I received a text that my order was ready. It was perfectly accurate with their estimated time! Parking at this location was SO easy- there's a decent sized free lot. Everyone inside was so friendly and there was ample seating space. I really love that they keep your drinks refrigerated once they have been made. It guarantees that someone doesn't just walk by and pick up your order, plus your drink stays fresh! I'm a student in Charlottesville and I love going to The Juice Laundry to study and have a healthy breakfast or snack. The açaí bowls are incredible (CB&J is a classic) and the juices are so fresh and unique. The Mocha Latte is my personal favorite, but the shakes are good too. I give it 4 stars just because it's a little pricey (and I'm a student), though this is expected with the quality of the products. This place is amazing! Went for breakfast, and it was so good I went for breakfast again the next day, since no place would be better than The Juice Laundry. The first day I had the chocolate drink, so delicious. The second day I got the turmeric drink called Blaze, fantastic and spicy. I had an amoothie bowl night days, great breakfast. Also got a brownie to go, best vegan brownie I ever had. This place should not be missed if you are in Charlottesville or anywhere even near. It would be worth a detour if you're traveling. Occasionally stocked, generally unhelpful staff, and consistently expensive. Literally every time I come to buy a quart of unsweetened almond milk they don't have it. Last time the guy behind the counter said they were not stocking the unsweetened nut milk in the front refrigerator anymore and he would make me up a quart. Today I go in and they say they can't do that and advise me to place an order and come back later to pick it up. Seriously? You can't just pour a quart for me? I like the almond milk because it's sprouted and organic. It's also kind of chalky and not the best I've had. It's certainly not worth the hassle and continual disappointment. read more
