I've always enjoyed their cleanses. I was trying to get a cleanse for my girlfriend and I. $60 a piece, but instead of ordering two, I somehow ordered four. Way to much juice. When I got there to pick it up and realized my mistake they were very nice about refunding my money. I was worried because I know that the juice has a limited shelf life so I felt very relieved that they didn't mind keeping the extra dozen bottles and giving my money back. read more

We stopped here for breakfast while visiting Monticello and were blown away by the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Even on a old winter day it was warm and cozy inside the juice bar and the CB&J bowl with the Acai/granola additions was amazing! Presentation was beautiful too and the staff was very nice and pleasant. One of the employees of this store is racist. I ordered juice before my friend and paid in cash. The man working happily accepted and gave me my juice. However, my black friend ordered an acai bowl and tried to pay in cash. The man working did not accept her cash. When she proceeded to ask why he told her "because your cash is dirty". He did not allow her to pay in cash, and she had to pay with card. Additionally, it took him longer to make her acai bowl. There were no crowds at the store and the place had multiple employees working. Friends that were already there that also ordered an acai bowl said it did not take that long. This place is completely unacceptable. The man working there was blatantly racist, and I do not understand how anyone could be discriminatory. His remark was completely inappropriate and had no factual basis-- just flat out racism. Unless you want to support a restaurant with racist employees, I would not recommend coming here. read more

This cute, new place near Timbercreek Market definitely offers something different from the other sandwich and cafe type places nearby (not knocking on Bodo's--love that place--but sometimes even a guy like me craves something with less bread and more veggies). I tried two of their juices (the carrot and the creamy cashew) but haven't tried the food yet they also have some hot food like Vegan chili and some bowl and smoothie concoctions that sound unusual but could be good?). Place was pretty empty around 1:45 PM in the afternoon. I think the folks on Yelp who complained about service may have a point--I wasn't immediately greeted by anyone when I walked in, and had to ask the person I think was the manager to walk me through their options because for the uninitiated, the menu can be confusing/daunting. However, everyone there was smiling and friendly and I wouldn't let those reviews turn you off. If you're looking for something in particular, however, you might need to call ahead to make sure they keep it aside for you since they're making everything fresh. I also dig that they do a bottle recycling program, where you get cash back if you return their glass bottles. Big kudos on devising a solution to the plastic/bottle waste issue. Let's hope other businesses take notice! My bottom line, if you're craving something fresh, organic, and quick, definitely give these guys a try! read more

I have been to The Juice Laundry a few times since it has opened and have enjoyed every experience. The front cooler which displays the bottled juice/milks makes it super easy to decide. And, the service from the employees has been very friendly. I've stayed and worked remotely in the lounge twice and have enjoyed the open, friendly atmosphere. I'd give it six stars if I could. The Juice Laundry is beyond delicious and beyond healthy. For six weeks last year, I had the pleasure of more or less living off of TJL. I'd start my day with a cold brew and drink three or four juices throughout the day, followed by a light healthy dinner. I absolutely never felt deprived. I had more energy, my mood improved, I lost weight effortlessly, I slept better ... what else? I drank less beer. And there was no discipline involved -- it's so damn good. Explore the menu -- I have my favorites (Citrus Fire, all of the nut milks, cold brew ... I could go on) but they are all delicious. It's a great place to hang out and get some work done as well. Spacious, cool design. The employees are all super welcoming and I had the pleasure of speaking to the owners, Mike and Sarah, a few times as well. I can't tell you how nice, genuine, cool, and hilarious they both are. When my trip to C'ville was over and I had to return to NYC I went into TJL withdrawal. This place is bomb. I really wanted to love this place, but we were so disappointed by the açai bowls. First of all, there is no açai in the açai bowls from what we could tell. There was fresh mango on the bowls, but it was hard and sour. The cinnamon flavor in the granola did not go well with the tropical fruit flavors at all, so eating it was not a pleasure at all. We've ordered açai bowls at different restaurants all over the country, and this was the first time we have had to throw them away without even finishing them. Really disappointed to have wasted $22. The customer service here is SO amazing and the acai bowls here are incredible! Most juice bars don't have cute apparel and I absolutely love the tanks that they have. I'm not from the area but it'd definitely be a place I would go to on a weekly basis if I lived here! read more

I'm editing this review based on valid feedback from Michael below. It's a new place and they need to work out their links. the acai bowl is good the service was sub par. Came here for a lunch break during work and it took 20 minutes to get our bowls. I don't think that's an acceptable wait time for basically a smoothie. They need to reconsider their process and have one person taking orders and someone else making the bowls/food. Not the cashier making every order. read more

Great to see more vegan places in Cville, and the smoothies, chili, and bowls are yummy if a bit pricey. Ordering system could use a bit of work, though. I ordered a smoothie on a slow evening and sat waiting for it 15 minutes while multiple orders after mine leapfrogged and were filled. Staff didn't seem particularly fazed when I canceled and asked for a refund. read more

They recently upped their prices, which were already expensive, and now it's just ridiculous. They don't even top the smoothie bowls with fresh fruit and yet they charge $11 for them!! They also are not consistent at all, several times I've gotten smoothies that aren't fully blended, the most recent time half the smoothie bowl was a frozen chunk of fruit. It would be forgive able if I weren't paying ridiculous prices for it. Used to come here once a week, now I can't justify the cost. Disappointing for sure! read more
