It's brought back memories of Yellowstone lodge. The dining room is large yet elegant. The servers all students were incredibly professional. Some of the best fine dining I've experienced in a long time. The menu had enough variety keeping in mind that it's a farm to table and seasonal menu. Hubs had beef stroganoff and was very impressed. I had the small house salad with grilled chicken and it was more than a meal. The bread basket had the most delicious molasses rolls and cranberry biscuits. We had to go shopping for the pepper jelly in the student store across the hall. Next time we will make a day of it and take the farm tour. read more

If you want great food and a superior dining experience, the Keeter Center at The College of the Ozarks, is the place to go. We love the idea that the facilities are student run. The students are responsible in all aspects for the operation of the farm, the hotel and the Keeter Center dining facility. Their time spent working offsets all of their tuition costs! The wait staff was truly excellent, beginning with our waiter, Rock. Our order was taken quickly and arrived in a timely manner. Food was well prepared and cooked to perfection. Rock was attentive without being intrusive. We were made to feel special during the entire evening. The background dinner music was provided by an accomplished pianist. The food was tasty but some of the items were too sweet for our tastes. The sauce on the meatloaf was super sweet, as well as the jelly on the fried green tomatoes. The lattes are the best I've ever had. The chocolate ice cream is incredible. The brisket bacon burger was incredible. Our server, Emily, did an amazing job. Drink glasses never got below half full. We live an hour away, the website would not let me make reservations for two people. We took a chance any ways! When we were about 15 minutes out I called to ask about wait times. They told me they can't tell wait times over the phone because it changes so quickly, I said I understand if it's different when I get there but I would like to know what the wait time is at this very moment. She again said they can't tell. When we got there in person they said the wait was 1.5 hours. I told her I called and had they just have me a rough estimate it would have saved me a lot of time. The worker was not happy and said again they can't share wait times over the phone. I know why they can't tell you over the phone. It's because they want you to be there in person to hear the lengthy wait time and decide to hang around and shop. It's a scam and a time waster. There is zero problem to tell someone an estimated wait time while also letting them know it could change on a dime "Yes right now the wait is about an hour and a half but that could change at any moment" read more

Wow! If you are coming to or through Branson MO this is a must stop. The mission of the college is amazing, the entire restaurant and hotel are run by students who are working their way through college. They are all super personable, professional and engaging which is very refreshing for this generation. On top of that the food, bakery and ice cream are all amazing! My only regret was we couldn't come back for dinner. This will be a must stop every time we are in Branson. No reservations for lunch and it was an hour wait but worth it because we got to tour the gift shop and veteran's museum. They do take reservations for dinner and I would recommend them. read more

They forgot about our order of friend green tomatoes (I don't think they charged us for it, but it never arrived, so) cobb salad was lovely, peach barbecued chicken was tasty, chicken sandwich was great, server was cute as a button, witty, and entertaining. Prices are a bit steep, but experience is kinda worth it. It was a little odd to be put on a 90 wait when there were clearly 50 tables empty in the dining room, but hey, you do you. I personally would have seated folks with the caveat that service might take a while longer than normal, but. . . I'm not in charge. There were a few items in the supposedly "student-created" gift shop that are clearly marked "made in India," but other than that, a quality lunch! read more

Meeting family in Branson for Thanksgiving gave us the opportunity to have dinner at The Keeter Center. The building is beautiful and the gift shop of student-made products was a must see. They had everything from candles to hot pads to fruitcakes to jellies and candies. We enjoyed a lovely Friday night dinner in the restaurant. It was a cool experience seeing the students under observation as they seated, took orders, delivered food and checked in on patrons. The bread basket was to die for, and came with sample jellies. The entrees were delicious and our service was exceptional. So glad I heard about this place at the College of the Ozarks. I remain intrigued. And will return. read more

A solid 4 .25 or 4.5! Tuesday dinner required a reservation but note that, at least in April, the Dobyn's Dining Room wasn't full and a last minute reservation could be obtained. The person who handled my late notice change was gracious and accommodated our schedule. The greeters at the desk were quick and cheerful. The student who sat our party was as good as it gets. And our waiter, though very soft spoken, was attentive and prompt. We had a great time. Has anyone mentioned that the students at the College of the Ozarks put together the seasonal, creative menus? Or that the students work in the kitchen, on the sales floor at the center, or in the dining room so that they graduate without debt? Or that the ceiling in the Dobyn's Dining Room is COPPER and looks like real tin (though it's probably not, it's beautiful). Now for the food. Nice presentation. And oh yes the meals were pretty good!! Two of us didn't care for the potatoes so I reduced this almost 5 star review to a solid 4.50. For me, the light fluffy tender cranberry biscuits (with strawberry butter and apple butter!) were the highlight of my meal. Stay and buy something from the gift shop, the Creamery, the Bakery, or take something home from the Dining Room (we did all of the above :)) Kudos to the students and to all involved. read more

The building is so impressive that I couldn't wait to go in and explore. What a great experience for students learning various trades. We were seated quickly and it was done very professionally. The dining room is very nice and the live piano playing was the perfect touch. Our server. Was friendly and helpful. She brought our drinks quickly while we viewed the menu. We enjoy going to the Keeter Center for a touch of class. All of the students are very polite and formal. Such a difference from the outside interactions with the same age bracket. Food, as always was excellent. Usually there is too much to eat and we are always traveling so some of it goes to waste. I feel badly about that. The building is a beautiful log cabin type structure. The restaurant has a classic western/mountain look. Service - Excellent! The restaurant is staffed (from the kitchen to the front of the restaurant) by students. Our server was excellent in every way! Food - Good. This was a clear case of my choosing the wrong entree. I love meatloaf, but I seldom order it out. However, the description looked interesting and my friend recommended it. The flavor was good. However, it was overcooked and quite dry. Having said this, I had a bite of my wife's fried chicken and it was melt in your mouth delicious! Overall Value - Very Good. We tried this on a friend's recommendation and fell in love with the restaurant, students, and school. The Sunday Brunch is well worth the time and money. If you go, talk to your server. You'll be helping them w/ their interpersonal skills and learn all about the school and their unique concept. All students who work there (15hrs/wk) receive their tuition for free. One might describe the Keeter Center as fine dining for the family! From the furnishings to glassware to flatware to decor, this place does it right. The menu is equally impressive, offering a wide array of options for patrons to select from.... We started with fried green tomatoes and croquettes. Then for dinner I enjoyed the scrimp, pork belly and grits while my wife ordered the pork scaloppine. The kids had the clubhouse sandwich and chicken strips (not the frozen kind usually served). This restaurant is part of the College of the Ozarks, a.k.a. HardWorkU. The concept of farm to fork is truly embraced here, as the college has a working farm and dairy that provides almost all of the ingredients used in the kitchen. Did I mention service? The food servers are students at the school, each of whom are outfitted appropriately and provide excellent service. I highly recommend the Keeter Center. Although the food was very tasty, unfortunately the service had a lot to be desired. The 4 of us were there celebrating one friend's birthday. The young student waitress was very nice, but managed to spill a whole glass of water onto the birthday boy's lap. She immediately apologized and ran to get some towels, but the damage had been done. Later the same waitress spilled coffee as she was filling one of our cups. The coffee was in the saucer that the cup was sitting in, and she never thought to bring a clean saucer for the guest. We were walk-ins on a Tuesday night in late April and got in to eat within 15 min. Hint: Make a reservation during the busy season. Food was very good. Our party of 4 had the chicken salad croissant (2), a burger w bacon and sweet potato fries, and Pesto pasta w dried tomatoes. Everyone loved their food! Prices were reasonable overall. We would love to come back each time we return to Branson. Best wishes to each student we met working as they go thru college. We also went to the museum on the college and it surprised us. I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here with my friend Sarah S. on Satuday night! I was in Branson in 2019 with Eric R. and another couple, and I wanted to squeeze in a meal here but we couldn't make it work. Almost five years later, I enjoyed a weekend visit to Branson with my friend which included a meal at our hotel Friday night, so I remembered about this wonderful student-run restaurant at College of the Ozarks and was able to secure a reservation! We arrived on time and were introduced to the beautiful dessert display en route to our table, Our server Levi was personable and informative, and made our experience awesome. We each ordered hot tea, but since I was not keen on black tea late at night or herbal, I asked for hot water and used my own tea bag (with permission). We ordered the brussel sprouts nachos and Levi warned us it was a very large portion. He was not kidding! As that came out quickly, we got our tea pots (served atop a tea candle keeping it warm), and a bread service with rolls, biscuits, and three types of butter (plain, strawberry, and apple). Sarah S. ordered a salad, then we got our entrees. For me it was Mediterranean pasta with pappardelle and a ton of veggies (bell peppers, olives, artichokes, zucchini, fennel, and others) in marinara with parmesan. She got chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. We both got everything left in to go boxes so we could enjoy dessert. Honestly, all fo the desserts sounded ridiculously good, but we heard the ice cream made by the college dairy was epic, so we went for that. Sarah S. originally ordered the seasonal option, peppermint, but then asked to taste raspberry mascarpone (Levi's recommendation). He got her a half scoop to go on our way out with a spoon. I ordered the banana pudding ice cream (the chancellor's choice) on a waffle cone. The protion was generous for the price. Overall, we loved the whole experience: the copper ceilings, the pianist, the fireplace, the many tables getting happy birthday songs by servers, the service, the food, and the ambiance. I highly recommend a visit here! I heard the brunch buffet is awesome, but we were so full we skipped a big breakfast and stopped at Buc-ee's in Springfield on the drive back.
