Why not just hold both or offer us something else as a substitute if it was going to take a while? And no one has responded to my OpenTable feedback, which is also weird. Great food and great place, we always enjoy our time here. Food: The food tasted great! I ordered a New York steak cooked rare and it was done right (hot outside, pinkiesh red in the middle). For my side, i ordered the garlic mash potato and it was simply amazing. Couldn't have asked for anything else! Atmosphere: It was quiet, socially distanced and everyone was seated 6 ft apart. I felt safe and the ambiance was great. Service: My server was really nice, attentive and asked us how the food was. I mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday and we got a complementary birthday cake which tasted AMAZING. It was a maple cheesecake and he loved it (he hates cheesecake!) I had an amazing birthday meal here! We came here on a Sunday night without a reservation a little earlier - around 5:30pm. We were able to get seated right away although the hostess did ask if we had a reservation - probably the prudent thing to do. Our waitress was lovely and came around promptly to make sure we were settling in. She made sure to highlight the Keg's lobster summer menu which had lobster in different ways including surf and turf. She also made sure to point out that the lobsters are fresh and not frozen. We were set up with table bread to being with. If you haven't been to The Keg before, the bread is amazing. It's almost piping hot and brought out wrapped up in a cloth like a delicious bread baby. It usually is served with whipped butter but this time the butter had some mix-ins. The Keg is known for steak but their prime rib is always excellent. Most times I've gone, they aim for it to be medium-rare in doneness. They can run out of your preferred doneness choice so it is a bit better to go earlier. My prime rib was medium-rare and absolutely perfect. It was tender and delicious with or without the au jus. My boyfriend had the surf and turf, which meant I got to partake in the lobster! The lobster is served with melted butter that is kept melty throughout the entire meal over a little tealight. They also provided a cracker and seafood fork so we were able to get ever bit of the lobster. I'm happy to report that the lobster was also delicious! The meat itself was so good so the lobster honestly didn't even need the butter. The mains were so good that I wound up polishing off mine and part of my dates. I was so full and satisfied that I was actually able to pass on dessert! read more

Fancy and friendly in equal measure, the Keg's staff really shines - they are so attentive and nice! After the bartender learned my name, I was greeted and checked on by a few other servers. The food was amazing - I went for their winter specials, oysters Rockefeller and a sirloin topped with mushrooms and gravy. The steak came with really well prepared fresh veg and a heavenly mash. They've also go a great cocktail list, beer selection, and a pretty robust wine program. My only disappointment was that the red glass pours on offer weren't more diverse - I would have liked to see a few more old worlds - but that said, I found something nice and enjoyed a perfect meal, so I'm just being nit picky. This place needs to redo it's total decor. It is like playboy mansion circa 1972. The carpets are stained weird old "art work " on walls. We started off our meal with one waiter who we have our order to. Then for whatever reason we got a new one,who totally got our order mixed up my partner wanted medium rare for his steak I wanted medium well. As soon as I cut into it blood came out I know this is how some steaks need to be cooked to be tender but the choice I made was a cut that could be cooked more. We came to the Keg for Mother's Day. Originally I booked Canyon Creek since they had a earlier dinner sitting st 5:30 pm. However Canyon Creek called to confirm the appointment to tell us we have a 1.5 hours eating time. Who does that?! You don't charge people crazy prices and then expect to rush them out on a special occasion. Therefore I was lucky enough to get reservations for a later time at 6:30pm with no set time limit at The Keg nearby. That's how it should be! We arrive and they got our reservations mixed up. They have it down for 2 people instead of 3. No problem they got that fix right away and found another table for us so we only waited a few minutes to get our table. We got seated and had the nicest server. Her name was Dayna. She's so sweet and attentive and took her the time to explain everything on the menu and was conversing with my 9 years old girls. All the Keg restaurants have the same food. Its the service that's the key. The last 2 times I came I was quite impressed with the service. I had the teriyaki sirloin and my girls each had time the slider kids menu. My dinner was excellent and was steak was cooked exactly how I liked it. Worst location ever. Waited an hour for a table after I called and they said the wait was 30 mins. We ended up on the bar side and there was ice cold air blowing on our table and according to the waitress nothing could be done. My husband asked for on of the TVs to be changed to the football game and they said no. 3 TVs with the hockey game on. Give me a break. We finally order, the time was 7:39pm. I ordered the prime rib. 2 mins later I am told by the waitress that it's sold out. How the heck is prime rib sold out a the Keg when it's one of the main reasons people go there. Clearly you need a new back of the house manager. I have worked at a couple of high end restaurants and never had a main dish sold out prior to 10pm. I will never go back! read more

I was here for dinner a couple of days ago. It was reliably good, as most Kegs are. The steak was evenly cooked to medium rare, but the flavour was a tad on the bland side. Perhaps I'm just making the mistake of comparing it to another steak I ate recently at a Mississauga restaurant which was crazy amazing. I ordered fries with my steak. The fries were not great. They seemed to have absorbed too much oil and they had that consequent oily brittle texture. The service was quite good although they were extraordinarily busy. read more

I absolutely love The Keg. Let's talk about their Keg sized Caesars for a second! Love everything about them. They are on point every time. I only ever get two things - either the prime rib or the pecan crusted steak. I don't know which I like better! They are always both cooked to perfection and so juicy. I absolutely love their mashed potatoes. There's something about them, they cannot be duplicated. I love that the potato skins are in them. Their seasonal veggies are always delicious too. They are always nic and crisp, never soggy. Their Caesar salad is delicious too. Something about that dressing! The Keg Classic is always a good idea. It includes the salad and two sides. Gives you a bit of everything. The service is always outstanding. I could not ask for better service. Attentive and helpful. The ambiance is wonderful. Low lighting, comfortable seating and fireplaces. It's great for a date night or evening a girls night out. The dessert! I can't even explain how amazing they all are. Billy Miner pie! Words do not do it justice. Mocha ice cream on a chocolate crust with chocolate and caramel drizzle. Trust me, just try it. Fudge brownie comes in close second. Steak, Steak, Steak! Oh wondrous Steak! That's what you'll find here. The Keg as many have probably seen on TV brags about how great their steak is, and all I can say is after a while I really wanted some. So last night my girlfriend and I decided to celebrate my Finishing my first year at University by going and indulging in some satisfying, succulent steak. I had the Prime Rib classic and she the Teriyaki classic, both of which were fantastic. The Prime Rib was cooked medium rare and to perfectly, which is something many places I have gone to have claimed but never delivered on. The Teriyaki classic, a misleading name at first as many may not associate teriyaki sauce with steak but the Keg really hit the nail on the head with it. The teriyaki marinade they made to cook the steak in was fantastic, better than most teriyaki dishes I've ever tasted! Both meals came with a mixture of greens, some horseradish (which I might for someone such as myself who isn't a lover of the stuff say that it is great!) and some lovely Au Jus sauce that went beautifully with my prime rib. This lovely entree accompanied by the amazing Crab Parmesan spinach dip (the best spinach dip I've ever had!) made for a positively fantastic meal. One other thing to note was that the staff there were quite lovely which enhanced the overall dinning experience. As well as the layout and actual design of the restaurant set such a lovely ambiance for the meal. There was no wait time to be seated which was surprising as it was their busiest time of the day, and the waitress did not seem to hurry us out once we were finished. Though through my effervescently glowing review you, the reader are probably thinking this place is too good to be true! I will go as far to inform of one aspect many may throw against this review and that is the price. That is the reason why I did not give this business a full five star review. Yet, even though the price we paid (Spinach Dip + Wine + 2 Meals = 79$) was, in respects to the quality of service and quality of food very reasonable. Overall a lovely dinning experience! read more

This Keg is fairly new and actually very nice inside compared to others in Hamilton etc. Food is usually always good quality, if you are in for a steak. Mine was cooked perfectly medium rare and tried a lobster app which was also good. Service was very good at this visit. Prices are quite reasonable considering what you might pay at other casual/fine dining restaurants. Would recommend this Keg for a nice night out. read more

Wed, Oct 23, 2019, I met a friend at the Keg for dinner. The food was excellent, but the rock music that was played way too loudly ruined our reunion. We met hoping for a nice dinner and conversation as we hadn't seen each other in 2 years. We sat side by side at the table and couldn't hear what was being said without putting our heads together. Asked the waitress to have it turned down, which they did very slightly. When we were leaving I commented that the extremely loud music spoil our evening. Her reply was, "They tell me that the music is so loud because people talk so loud." Did no one ever think that people wouldn't have to shout at each other to be heard if the music played was dinner music at a reasonable level? After spending $175. on dinner we were left terribly disappointed in the Keg. Will not be returning there again. Will go next-door to the Stone House where we ate the next night and had a lovely quiet dinner. read more

Have been to this particular Keg many times and have yet to have a bad experience. Food is always fresh, steaks are fantastic. Have never had one over cooked. Bar tender makes the best Cosmo - my fav in all the city. Sitting by the fireplace during the cold winter makes it even better. Expect a bit of a wait on Friday and Saturday nights for the dining room. You may luck out and catch an empty table quicker if you dine in the lounge. read more
