Funky is the best way to describe Salt and Brick. The bar, lounge and main restaurant are beautifully decorated and use colourful lighting to create a unique ambience. Service was prompt, professional, and friendly. They change their menu often so part of the experience is walking through all the new offerings. Menu selections are unique and all the food was delicious. The calamari was a bit heavy but very tasty. They have a pretty extensive wine and cocktail menu but have limited beer offerings and don't offer some classic cocktails like Caesars. Also no decaf coffee, which is odd. We ordered coffee and a chocolate ganache dessert, a wonderful combination. Unfortunately, the dessert showed up long after the coffee was long gone. Oh well. However, I will definitely return to check out some of the new menus .

First time at Salt & Brick! The place has a great atmosphere and I would totally dress up a little more the next time I go. We ordered an endive salad, an octopus main, and the scallops and wild boar. The endive salad was delicious and fresh! Prompted me to go and try to make one myself. The wild boar was great! I could have eaten two more portions. The scallops were cooked to perfection! My mom was also pleasantly surprised by the zucchini on the plate. The halloumi on the octopus dish was delicious and my favorite part. The octopus was cooked well, but there was nothing too special about it. We ordered the pumpkin patch for dessert. I thought it was delicious! My mom wasn't thrilled about the bourbon in the sauce. I wish the sauce was a little thicker but the ice cream was creamy and pudding was a great density. The waiter was very nice. I wish he was a little bit more attentive, my mom had to flag him down to order our mains. Can't wait for my next dinner here.

We had a bit rough start with the service, the guy tending to us just clocked out without putting our orders on a tab and we had to talk to another person. The next person who helped us was really nice tho. We had some weird requests to play shot roulette and the guy just went along with it and was a really good sport. The brussel sprouts were interesting mix of pickled grapes, popcorn, beer cheese, and brussel sprouts. I half wished the grapes weren't pickled because it was too much contrast from the rest of the dish. The beer cheese made things very umami. The popcorn was also an interesting choice for texture but I didn't hate it. The drinks were either a hit or miss and the bartenders here seemed to have varying degrees of expertise in mixing

Relatively new spot that works great for a date night or slightly more upscale spot for an outing. The interior is sexy and sultry, yet modern and chic. The food is meant to be shared plates for the table and the menu changes on a weekly or daily basis depending on the fresh ingredients available. I loved each of the plates we ordered - very intricate, and beautifully presented. Service was a little on the slower side, however, out waitress was very friendly and personable. I had a chance to check out their speakeasy in their restaurant as well, which was a huge plus (the cocktails in the speakeasy are better than that in the restaurant ;)).

Hokkaido scallops deliciousness with carrots, peaches and a rice paper top!

Service was unreal!!! I would say servers were very nice and friendly. I'd recommend a bit more staff for busier times. Food took a bit.

Now I'll drive from the south east into the north west about 40 minutes just to get fresh fish I'm going there for so long I know how great the fish is and how fresh again how honest she is which is so important when you're buying food let alone fish!! I love everything that is great about this little fish store is it's tiny and all they sell is fish. I get about 15 to 20 pieces of fish she puts it in a plastic that is sealed and I can keep it three months in the freezer I could go on but I won't, it's late I'm tired and I have to go to sleep however.... just know everything is fantastic about this place!!

Oakley was our server and he was so kind and informative about the menu and how the restaurant operates. The oyster of the week were the Melpeque's which starts off salty, but compensates the saline flavor with a boom of sea mineral richness. Their house relish and vinegar combined with the oysters intensified the experience and we also had to get the Oysters Florentine which were also decadent and cheesy in the best way possible. Oakley checked in on use occasionally and was also kind enough to give us (since we're Californians) some of the usual things that take place in Calgary (weather, places to check out and etc.) Definitely returning here if we make another trip to Calgary, shout out to Oakley!

When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted right away but even though we had reservations there was some talk about where to sit us. The main dining was near full and so they offered patio or upstairs. It would be more private upstairs as there was no one up there but they warned us that service was slow. Eventually, they sat us in a booth in the main dining area but it was touch and go in the beginning. Not a great impression. Our server mentioned to us that he was new. We found him very friendly and knowledgeable. We came here for the oysters - we ordered 1 Irish Point, 1 Fanny Bay and 2 Malpeque (I wanted to try one). The Malpeque also was the feature Oyster which means they are $1.50 each. I don't usually eat oysters but thought it was good. My wife says the Irish Point and Fanny Bay were good. Because the Malpeque was good and really meaty we ordered 7 more (I wanted one more). Oysters 5* Lamb Shank 4* - Wife ordered this and said it was tender and good. Lamb Burger 2* - Daughter ordered this and patty was small and dry. Lobster Pasta 4* - Son ordered this and lobster tail was meaty and sweet ad pasta was tender. I decided to order 3 appetizers for my meal. Onion Rings - 3* - basic Korean Spicy Chicken Wings 4* - Good kick, but the wings were not that meaty. Seafood Chowder 4* - Lots of things in the chowder. Broth was flavourful but could have been thicker. Service before we got our meals (ordering) and during our meal was great. 5*. Getting the bill and getting our leftovers packed was a little slow. 3*. Decor inside was quite nice - old world feel. We may not come back for dinner but maybe for the Oysters, some appetizers, and drinks.
