Also, my 7yr old has always had a sensitive scalp, clearly we as parents know our children better than anyone. But apparently my kid it's just a cry baby. Yet, she's gotten her hair done and has never cried before, here she was crying because they weren't being gentle or careful in any way, instead of comforting her they forced her down when she tried to get off the seat, telling her to stop being a cry baby. Thankfully her big sister was there to protect her as we've always taught them. My oldest (12yrs old) has learned about CGM (curly girl method) if you're not aware of this, please look it up and educate yourself about how beautiful our hair is and how we can take care of it oppose to damaging our hair with so many chemicals and straightening our hair. Anyhow, my oldest looked up the stuff they were trying to put on her little sister right there and then read how damaging this can be and didn't allow them to apply it on her sister & instead of listening to her as a customer, they were condescending and belittle her completely. My 12yr old daughter was caught off guard as to why or how these people think it's ok to be so rude to them, to anyone for that matter. Instead of reacting back with the same treatment, she grabbed her sister's hand and walked away and waited in the car. This was supposed to be a beautiful outing with their Grandmother who's been a loyal client for years now & it's such a a huge disappointment that it turned out to be a complete nightmare for my girls and my mother. The girls just wanted something simple and easy, but clearly they weren't able to understand them since they spoke English. Instead they set my oldest under a bonnet (dome) hair dryer. Her hair is already curly she didn't need any of that, all you had to do was wash it and crunch those beautiful curls. She even had a photo to show them what she wanted, which once again could've had been done with a wash and crunching her curls. Youngest one just wanted braids, but they were going to apply some sort of permanent‍ Parents, our children aren't puppets. Teach your babies to stand their ground. We're raising our kids to be respectful with everyone, NOT just with adults but also with their peers. Respects goes a long way, and I understand many of us Hispanics were raised as though our thoughts/feelings didn't matter because we were kids, break that cycle. Raise strong little humans by showing them what true real respect looks like at a young age, they're the future after all.

When I got there I sat down and waited for the actual barber to show up and the guy that was aggressive with me on the phone started to ask me questions in the shop in a vindictive and instigative way because he and the other girl had been gossiping about what I wanted to pay for before I got there. More so he was trying to impress the girl And had this black on black disrespectful behavior about it.. Long story short after my haircut the girl was very rude to me and ghetto in front of the owner who allowed it to happen.. Because they had been talking about it before I got there so he intentionally messed up the back of my head.. It made me feel as if barbers don't care about service And if they misunderstand something through ignorance they will take it out on you through your haircut even if they are wrong you'll be stuck with a fucked up Haircut for two weeks The owner appeared to be very respectful as he cut my hair but when I look at the back of my head and I look at the other cuts that he has done this looks like it was very intentional because I did ask for a shadow fade. Still, they were able to accommodate my father and I. Thuan Pletcher is the manager here and she had a spot open since I had my father go first opening. I got lucky because she knows what she's doing. We had a conversation about how I'd like my hair cut, what would look good, and the way she would get me in and out of the chair asap while making sure I was happy. She's super personable, friendly, and funny too. We discussed my heritage and she was understanding of why I have my parents with me here in GA. Laughed at my jokes, which always is nice, . I walked out of there and I was very pleased with the results. It's always a toss up when you go to a new spot, or even go to a place like great clips because chances are you're not going to be 100% happy with the results if you're not going to your usual stylist. HOWEVER, I was jacked up in the best possible way. Just the way I needed the cut, the sides blended in nicely since it grows out sideways from the side of my head instead of down, with gravity. My bangs and top were cut enough to grow out by the time I head off on vacation and will be great for photos. The cost is on the higher side, but when you're pleased with the results it feels like you're making a sports gamble/bet you know you'll win. My father is loyal and may go back to the old barber, but she's elderly and may not be around long term. So I have a choice, which is never a bad thing- and it's so much closer than Duluth from Cumming. Thank you Thuan for making me look and feel good!
