Came here on a Friday night. It was packed so we waited for about 40 minutes for a table, but it was totally worth it. The fries were amazing! It was hard for us to finish it all. Soon the wings came and it was time to make more room for food. My friend got dry rub and I got spicy. I'm not even a fan of dry rub and I still liked them a lot. The servers were great too. I appreciate them not kicking me and my friend out because we were the loudest people there. She yelled at me most of the night lol. I guess the vibe, food and service must have been in my favor. Good spot for quick and easy food, but the experience at the end was very tainted. We sat by the bar and ordered two entrees, wings and drinks. We were 75% done with our meals when the bartender who was great until this point suddenly brings the check and says "sorry to break your balls, but if you don't mind, can you pay the check my shift is about to be over" and brings two shot glasses as a "gratis" he'll provide for bringing the check before we asked. We weren't bothered as we were going to continue eating, but after sometime I see he continues to be the only bartender as it's 6pm or so on a Wednesday and continues to hustle his way through every youngster coming in for cheap beers. I really like this place for brunch! Their Brooklyn country skillet and steak sandwich (fitz dip) are amazing. Also the mimosas are the best! Our waitress was really nice and attentive. The best wings in New York. My favorite are the Fitzgerald's and black bear. 50 Wings did me good tonight! The interior is nice, you can eat at a table or chill at the bar. I'd been wanting to check The Kettle Black out all summer. This week that dream came true. We came in on a Thursday evening around 5:30. I was actually surprised at how few people were inside but it made it easy for us to snag seats at the bar. We were provided with 2 food menus and a tablet that listed all of their beers and specialty cocktails. We ended up trying the Mango Wheat beer that was on tap and it was pretty good. For food I ordered mild Buffalo City wings (6 for $7.25) and a build your own pizza starting at $8.25 but toppings were an additional price. I added pepperoni and jalapeños. The wings were great and the pizza was the perfect size and delicious. The bartender did his job. Not overly friendly or welcoming but he wasn't rude either. There's plenty of TVs here so I'm assuming this place can get busy especially during football season. I'd definitely return to watch a game and get some food. Finally, kettle black has brunch. But, I doubt it will last for long. By far the worst brunch I've ever had even for a bargain. It's not even worth it. Let's start off with this: -Cannot substitute anything on their brunch menu which is a WHOLE 5 items that include scrambled eggs. Caught my sarcasm? Prices from $14-$16. -Looking to catch a buzz for brunch? Then don't come here. Mimosas are premixed and kept under the counter, served and loaded up with ice otherwise they are luke warm. I've never seen this before. So pretty much, your getting stale champagne with acidic orange juice. Do any of you enjoy drinking a beer that's been sitting for an hour? Invited my coworkers to come here on a Thursday night, there was a guy outside that was checking i.d's. So when I was in front of the door, I gave him my i.d, but turns out it was all for fun. There was a couple by the dining area, but ok we got to follow the rules and get some food. I got a long island iced tea like one of my friends and somebody else got a Malibu bay freeze. My long island came or should I say coke, because it pretty much tasted like coke. I asked my friends how their drinks were and they didn't like how it was made either. As for the food, we got nachos and wings. The wings were decent, but a bit on the dry side. I do like that they have other flavors to choose from, but wouldn't recommend this for the wings. However, the nachos were good! I say that's pretty much what saved the night for me. The nachos I would come back for, but not the drinks or wings. However, the consistency of the sauces were just right - it was just thick enough to coat the wings, but not too liquidy that sauce got all over your hands. The Luau was tangy from the plum sauce and a little sour from the pineapple. It could have been a touch sweeter. The Big Bear wings were honey BBQ and they were pretty good. I've been told to come here for a while to have their wings. So finally after a month of hearing about this place I went last night and I must say their wings are delectable. I'm a huge Buffalo wings fan, but I didn't go with the regular flavor of buffalo last night. We went with the Hawaiian wings and the jack wings. The jack wings were more enjoyable to me because I'm not a huge fan of pineapples which are in the glaze of the Hawaiian wings but they were good as well. They also have Angry Orchard Rosé on tap! They offer some cool deals on the weekdays. There's Boneless Monday's and Wing Wednesdays, where the wings are discounted when you purchase a beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). Heads up! If you're going to one of these weekday specials, try to get there earlier than 7pm. There has been many times I've waited more than an hour to get a table. For this reason I gave them 4 stars. However it was the wings we came for & there that the place loses serious traction. The wings, not really noticeably fresh and not frozen, were dripping with a copious amount of sauce, in this case the house version of classic buffalo. They were certainly not however the least bit crispy, which as I have stated before is absolutely key in determining the relative greatness of wings.
