This gym insists that you must come in person to cancel, which is both unreasonable and, in my opinion, shady business practice. For those reading this: under the Florida Health Studio Act (Fla. Stat. § 501.017), gyms and fitness facilities are legally required to honor written cancellation requests. Refusing to accept email or mail cancellations -- and continuing to bill after repeated good-faith attempts to cancel -- raises serious consumer protection concerns. If you're considering signing up here, be cautious. Make sure you understand the cancellation policies, because getting out of a membership may not be as straightforward as they make it sound.
