I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea at The Swan, and what truly made the experience exceptional was the outstanding service from Theo. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that set the tone for a lovely afternoon. Theo was attentive, friendly, and incredibly professional throughout. She made sure everything was perfect--from keeping our teapots topped up to explaining each of the delicious items on the tray with care and enthusiasm. Her attention to detail and calm, welcoming manner made us feel completely relaxed and well looked after. The food itself was delicious--beautifully presented sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and a tempting selection of sweet treats--but it was Theo's service that turned a great tea into a truly memorable occasion. We came here without a reservation and seated at a two person table in the back of the empty first floor. A bit too cozy with no windows in view. Wife had the 23 GBR sea bass which was decent but a very small portion perhaps 4 oz, I had the 20 GBR fish and chips which came with mushy peas. The fish was fantastic at least 8 oz fresh and moist with plenty of flavor. The chips were only so-so, and not up to McDonalds quality. Loved the 9 GBR sticky toffee pudding which came with a dab of vanilla ice cream. When I went upstairs to use the bathroom and found out the place had great views of next door across the street Hyde Park. Three stars for sitting downstairs but would have been four stars if they had seated me in the packed upstairs. read more

Great place to grab a quick bite and a pint! We only stopped in once after a busy day site seeing but we passed by the pub plenty of times going to and from our hotel. A lovely pub located across the street from Hyde Park. The Swan is part of the Fuller's group of pubs. The have indoor seating on two floors and a lovely outside patio. Nice views of the park while dining or enjoying a pint. I came for the Sunday Roast. I'd always heard about this traditional Brittish dinner served on Sundays at many restaurants. It was quite nice. I was able to have a combination of roast chicken and beef roast along with a side of cabbage, vegetables, stuffing and yorkshire pudding with red wine gravy. It paired nicely with a pint of London's Pride. Service was prompt and friendly. I'd enjoy a repeat visit to try some of the other menu options. read more

First off I ordered a double whiskey neat. To say it was a short pour is an understatement. When I asked the waitress about the pour she said it looked short and had asked the bartender it was proper. Rubbish. We went in on New Year's Day, the bartender laughed in my boyfriend's dads face when he ordered my drink (a spritz). We tried to order a cast ale and the bartender said no because he didn't want to fill it up. We asked for a cheese toastie and he said "we don't make those on weekends" we replied with "it's a weekday" and he said since it was a bank holiday, they won't slap a piece of cheese between bread and toast it. Honestly, just ridiculous. Like if you don't want to work, don't work? I don't expect the greatest service in the world, but like for real? Great good, drink and location. I don't know what else it takes for a pub to have 5 stars. On top of that, there was misunderstanding with food order and they promptly took it back and made another. I've had issues with this at pubs in the past but not this place. Check it out and enjoy the garden seating overlooking the park when you're exploring Hyde Park or Kensington. Our hotel was right around the corner, so we were tempted to visit after passing it so many times during our travels. What a good decision. The pub dates back to the early 1800's. Everything about the pub is inviting. There is pleasant outdoor and indoor seating. The service is prompt and friendly. A charming pub with florals fit for the season. We sat on the second level veranda for a drink first, admiring the lively passer bys. Thrilled to see red double deckers for this non local. Service is super friendly and very accommodating, moving us in when it gets a big cold eating outside. The food came in huge portions. The fish & chips are especially good and BIG. Last day in London. So getting a lovely breakfast before leaving is ideal. Our hotel was located right around the corner from this place, so we decided to leave it for the very last day. When we got to the place, it was fairly empty. Unfortunately, the upstairs with seating overlooking the street was unavailable. So we got outdoor seating downstairs. We quickly got menus and placed our orders. The wait for the food and tea was no more than 10-15 minutes. The Eggs Royal were very tasty and beautifully plated. The teapots with our tea were a very nice touch. The English breakfast tea itself had great flavor too. All around great service, food and drink. Highly recommend. read more

Typical pub ambiance and friendly, efficient bar staff. If I was being super picky I'd say the mushy peas were a bit stingy and not the mashed consistency I like, but that's a very minor detractor. The husband had the signature fried chicken sandwich with bacon and wolfed it down. Then stole half my fish, claimed he didn't, and all washed down with a local amber ale.
