I've been here twice and both times had an excellent experience. Kit Nails is bright and airy with friendly staff.. This trip was a treat for my daughter and I, for a pedi, just before the crush of Thanksgiving week and lots of family. I had made an appointment and let them know I was fresh out of knee replacement surgery so no tools please. They understood exactly what I meant. They sat us right away and my technician was already aware of my needs and used a very light touch of a file, then a gentle scrub and lotion before polish. It was a great treat and she was ever so gentle! This spot gets busy, so I would recommend appointments. read more

The ladies in my neighborhood have raved over the Kit Nail and Spa for years. I started coming here for my eyebrow waxes. The wax is $15, and no appointment is needed. The facial waxing is in a room in the back, and I appreciate the privacy. I've always walked in and never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes, which means I can go on my lunch break and still have time to eat lunch. The staff are always busy with manicures and pedicures and do a great business with many repeat customers. They also have the small chairs for little girls, so this is a good spot to bring a daughter or granddaughter for a girls' day. Bees Ferry Rd. provides easy in-and-out coming from Savannah Hwy, and there's a large parking lot right out front. read more

The Kit Nail and Spa at corner of Hwy 17 and Bee's Ferry Road is a great spot for Manicures and Pedicures. I am here taking my mother for a Manicure. Staff is very accommodating for walk-ins. Mom is happy with the service so I am happy! 5 Stars !! read more

I was truly to leave my previous nail technician because she was at tacular. But now that I am in West Ashley, it is a big inconvenience to drive 45 minutes away for nail services. I have been very impressed with the Kit nail and spa. The first thing I noticed is, on my first visit, they wanted to get to know me and were very appreciative that I chose their salon. I have had multiple nail technicians and do not have any major complaints. I prefer to get the deluxe pedicure, so I am able to add a little bit more spoiled time for me. I feel they are sanitary and clean and provide a relaxed atmosphere. I am happy I have found them and plan to stay with them a long time. read more

I had a most "happy toe" experience with Jason. At my age, weight and speed, my toes are pretty knarly....Jason was tender and non-judgmental as he worked to overcome years of abuse. I'll surely return...they know their regular customers by name and greet them by name A pleasant change from most of the other salons I've tried around town. read more

Horrible experience. Rude and awful manicure. Waited over 45 mins between manicure and pedicure. I left in the middle of my pedicure because the owner started yelling at me because I asked a couple of questions about the pedicure process. He then informed me that I would have to wait another 30 minutes before I could get the pedicure completed. Again, a horrific experience. I felt bad for the young man that was trying to complete my pedicure. I tipped him anyway. I highly recommend you stay away from this establishment. * zero stars would be the appropriate rating. read more

Went to get a gel pedicure. He was very personable but he cut what he said was an "ingrown toenail" ( I did not have an ingrown toenail, I'm familiar with how they feel when I've had them in the past.) making me bleed and the next day my big toe was so sore. Polish was very sloppy, when I pointed out the terrible polish job he reassured me that the excess would come off in the shower.. Very disappointing because it was a pricey service. Unfortunately I won't be back. read more

So far, looks like 5 stars! The spa is set up nicely, with 8 manicure and pedicure stations, plus pedicure chairs for little girls! There are many options for types of pedicures from basic to organic. I am especially excited that they offer the option to pay $10 for 10 minute extra massage. It is bright, clean and relaxing! They spend just the right amount of time massaging, etc. I will definitely be back again soon! read more

I paid $65 dollars for a refill I had three missing acrylic nails and most of them was grown out. Usually I would just do full set cz the cost would be very much like repair and fill. I let them do just repair and fill since I was in a rush. After my nail tech commented on how horrible the previous people shaped my nails this was their better work. Misshape and all out of line. Pictures are from my first set and next two was the appointment today. read more

I finally found a place for a mani and pedi near our home. I went to kit after having a sloppy dip manicure. I don't know the name of the gentleman but he was efficient, precise and did a wonderful job! I was so happy! Thank you and I think I'm going to be a regular there! read more

What a great experience. I am super picky about manicures and this is probably the best experience I've had. I got a powder SNS manicure, and actually had recently broken my wrist. They were not only super delicate with my hand which was in a brace, but also just genuinely nice, sweet people. And you could tell their customers love them because it was near the holidays and people had given them gifts and a couple walked in with gifts while we were there. My sister and I made a comment about how their customers obviously love them and they replied saying that they are family. Highly recommend! I am from out of town but this will be my go to place when I am here. read more

Kit Nail and Spa does a fantastic job on my nails, and I am very particular. Always a pleasure - friendly, caring staff.

I have now been a loyal customer of Kit Nail & Spa for 7 years and it's time for another review. 7 years and this is still a very well run business. Kit, the owner is fantastic - very professional and he truly cares about the clients. They have recently done some amazing interior renovations complete with new massage chairs, fresh paint, comfortable chairs, plants & a LARGE TV, which I love! My guy is Kevin, who is SO talented - I never leave my visit anything other than happy! Kevin understands my likes and dislikes and delivers great results every time. If you live in Charleston, don't let the address of "John's Island" make you think it's a long drive. It's not. It is just past the intersection of Main Rd going south, right on the corner of Bees Ferry & 17 so it's very easy to get to from Charleston. Mileage wise, it's about 5 miles from the Citadel Mall area. Finally, look no further if you are in search of a great Nail Salon. You just found it! read more

I have read many reviews and respected them all because it was your personal experience as this is mine. This experience has been the worst ever at any salon. I paid nearly $120 only to have my fingers and hands cut very deep in many places. My fingers were and still are bleeding and burning. It is now 17 hours later. lnstead of attending my class reunion today, I will be going to the emergency room for some kind of relief. I made it aware that I was hurt To the male owner who sits near the front desk. He is the one who did my nails. Horrible job. In so much pain from the cuts and scrapes. I got squirted with alcohol and peroxide and I sent on my way. I was quoted one price but was charged another when my back was turned. Any decent business owner would try and make it right and not take more than they were supposed to receive. First and last time ever. read more

Greatest. Place. Ever. and it's five minutes from my house! Family run, super clean and very friendly! Open on Sunday's and the staff are always so nice! They have two little butterfly pedicure chairs for children and 8 plush massage chairs for adults! Perfect for pampering yourself after a long week! Again, super clean and the nicest staff! Went today to get a pedicure which was due in a long time. First impressions: clean, open, relaxed, professional and friendly. My manicurist Tabby was amazing. Attention to detail and showing that she wanted to ensure I had a great experience was just the start. I generally get a bit nervous letting others cut cuticles and snip around my toes, but. One of that was the case there with her. The salon quickly got busy, which shows how popular the salon is. (There is plenty of staff to satisfy the demand, but they also offer appointments). The salon has a lot of different manicure and pedicure packages, and I was especially fond of the customized, aroma therapy pedicure packages they offer (10 or so different scents, with added vitamins, detox, etc. ) Another plus: the pedicure chairs you lie in for your treatment are full upper body and neck shiatsu massage chairs. You have control over what parts you want worked in and the intensity level, and all that was included in a more than reasonable price. Both thumbs up from me, keep it going. Hope to have time on my next trip to Charleston/SC to stop by again for an encore. read more

My go-to!! This salon is not the most up-to-date... but the staff is great and the quality of work is on-point and reliable. Big fan!

This place is dirty and I had a very bad burn to my eye by a lazy young technician yesterday. She was too busy face timing her daughter on her phone to pay attention to what she was doing. I had to go to the ER at Roper after I got to my next appointment in West Ashley. My hair gal, Karen G, in WA, saw green gunk coming out of my eye. It was burning and red when I got to my car, but I did not realize how bad the injury was. I called and spoke with a man named Kit who told me he was the manager. He would NOT take any responsibility for what happened. Furthermore, he did not believe me and was very rude. Quite the asshole. They also said nothing to two customers not wearing masks. Like they were afraid to say anything putting others at risk. I'm reporting them to the health department . STAY AWAY. read more

I wanted to try a new nail salon close to my home before my vacation and this place seemed like somewhere I would want to try. The man who gave me my pedicure was very nice and the massage chairs are awesome. I had my pedicure on Tuesday and left for my vacation on Saturday, my polish is already peeling and chipping on Friday. My toe polish should last longer than a few days. Very disappointing as I am on vacation and my toes look awful. They would have lasted longer if I did them myself. read more

The Kit Nail and Spa - Chipping after 4 days!! - Nail Salons Near Me - Johns Island, South Carolina

I was referred by a friend of mine and tried it out since it was so much closer than my other salon. I'm really glad I tried it because they did such a good job. I've gotten so many compliments on my pedicure in the few days since I've been, and they didn't even know I switched salons. They were very thorough and seemed to care about how my nails looked. I will definitely be back. If I was to recommend one thing, it would be to use a hot towel when rinsing the scrub off my legs. And one thing to note is they offer 15% off on Wednesday until 2:00. The regular price for a pedicure is $29. And a note to another review about the polish chipping...it's been 5 days since my pedicure and my nails still look great. The other review must be an isolated incident, and I'm sure they would've corrected it if they knew. Maybe they just forgot the base coat. read more

The Kit Nail and Spa - Dip polish - Nail Salons Near Me - Johns Island, South Carolina

By far the worst manicure I've ever received. I got SNS (powder dip) nails here today and will never go back. First of all they took a full two hours. They had to rebuff and redo half of my nails 3 times after they were still uneven and bumpy. He was going to go back for a fourth but I told him not to bother; I had had enough. Left the salon with two cut and bleeding cuticles, one nail fully white and scratched up and all the others looking like they'd lazily been hit with topcoat (still were half matte/half shiny). By the end I could tell that the staff had no idea what they were doing. Complete waste of $60, should've refused to pay honestly. Reminded myself why I strictly do my own nails. Will never go back or recommend. I made a yelp account solely to write this if that tells you anything. read more

Great pedicure and kind folks. I will say they have Looooong wait times. I waited 15 min, was asked if I wanted to come back in 30. I called and asked if they were ready for me and he said "someone took your spot, come in 20 min." I did. I still waited another 30 min but the pedicure was really good and they were nice. I guess I'll need an appt next time read more

As other reviews said there was a wait, but it wasn't too bad; next time I'll make an appointment before popping in. I got a pedicure with the extra ten minute massage, and it did not disappoint. Well worth the extra $10.00 for the extra ten minutes. Very pleased. I will be back. read more

This by far was my worst mani and pedi experience. I gave one star because I have come twice before and had a great experience with the other nail specialists prior, but this was such a horrible experience I had to write a review! For beginners my pedicure was rushed. She barely rubbed or scrubbed my feet and completely disregarded the lotion massage that came with my package I asked for. She painted my toes the wrong color which in the grand scheme didn't bother me that much until I saw how horribly she painted them. Then when it came to my nails again a rushed manicure! I got gel polish and in two days you could see it rising and peeling by day 3. I have gotten gel numerous times before and NOT ONCE has it ever started rising and chipping that early. In addition it was a sloppy job. I got my nails done for a vacation and now this weekend I have to go to another salon to get this mess she did fixed and redone. Worst $70 I have every spent!!!!! As a disclaimer I have had two other nail specialist and they did a great job. So if you do decide to go here avoid Jenny. It was such a bad job the lady who actually told me to try this place out because of her great experience was in disbelief of how bad my mani and pedi looked. read more
