This trip was a treat for my daughter and I, for a pedi, just before the crush of Thanksgiving week and lots of family. I had made an appointment and let them know I was fresh out of knee replacement surgery so no tools please. They understood exactly what I meant. They sat us right away and my technician was already aware of my needs and used a very light touch of a file, then a gentle scrub and lotion before polish. The ladies in my neighborhood have raved over the Kit Nail and Spa for years. I started coming here for my eyebrow waxes. The wax is $15, and no appointment is needed. The facial waxing is in a room in the back, and I appreciate the privacy. I've always walked in and never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes, which means I can go on my lunch break and still have time to eat lunch. The staff are always busy with manicures and pedicures and do a great business with many repeat customers. They also have the small chairs for little girls, so this is a good spot to bring a daughter or granddaughter for a girls' day. I was truly to leave my previous nail technician because she was at tacular. But now that I am in West Ashley, it is a big inconvenience to drive 45 minutes away for nail services. I have been very impressed with the Kit nail and spa. The first thing I noticed is, on my first visit, they wanted to get to know me and were very appreciative that I chose their salon. I have had multiple nail technicians and do not have any major complaints. I prefer to get the deluxe pedicure, so I am able to add a little bit more spoiled time for me. I feel they are sanitary and clean and provide a relaxed atmosphere. I am happy I have found them and plan to stay with them a long time. read more

Went to get a gel pedicure. He was very personable but he cut what he said was an "ingrown toenail" ( I did not have an ingrown toenail, I'm familiar with how they feel when I've had them in the past.) making me bleed and the next day my big toe was so sore. Polish was very sloppy, when I pointed out the terrible polish job he reassured me that the excess would come off in the shower.. Very disappointing because it was a pricey service. Horrible experience. Rude and awful manicure. Waited over 45 mins between manicure and pedicure. I left in the middle of my pedicure because the owner started yelling at me because I asked a couple of questions about the pedicure process. He then informed me that I would have to wait another 30 minutes before I could get the pedicure completed. Again, a horrific experience. I felt bad for the young man that was trying to complete my pedicure. I tipped him anyway. I paid $65 dollars for a refill I had three missing acrylic nails and most of them was grown out. Usually I would just do full set cz the cost would be very much like repair and fill. I let them do just repair and fill since I was in a rush. After my nail tech commented on how horrible the previous people shaped my nails this was their better work. Misshape and all out of line. There are many options for types of pedicures from basic to organic. I am especially excited that they offer the option to pay $10 for 10 minute extra massage. It is bright, clean and relaxing! What a great experience. I am super picky about manicures and this is probably the best experience I've had. I got a powder SNS manicure, and actually had recently broken my wrist. They were not only super delicate with my hand which was in a brace, but also just genuinely nice, sweet people. And you could tell their customers love them because it was near the holidays and people had given them gifts and a couple walked in with gifts while we were there. My sister and I made a comment about how their customers obviously love them and they replied saying that they are family. Highly recommend! I paid nearly $120 only to have my fingers and hands cut very deep in many places. My fingers were and still are bleeding and burning. It is now 17 hours later. lnstead of attending my class reunion today, I will be going to the emergency room for some kind of relief. I made it aware that I was hurt To the male owner who sits near the front desk. He is the one who did my nails. Horrible job. In so much pain from the cuts and scrapes. I got squirted with alcohol and peroxide and I sent on my way. I was quoted one price but was charged another when my back was turned. Went today to get a pedicure which was due in a long time. First impressions: clean, open, relaxed, professional and friendly. My manicurist Tabby was amazing. Attention to detail and showing that she wanted to ensure I had a great experience was just the start. I generally get a bit nervous letting others cut cuticles and snip around my toes, but. One of that was the case there with her. The salon quickly got busy, which shows how popular the salon is. (There is plenty of staff to satisfy the demand, but they also offer appointments). The salon has a lot of different manicure and pedicure packages, and I was especially fond of the customized, aroma therapy pedicure packages they offer (10 or so different scents, with added vitamins, detox, etc. ) Another plus: the pedicure chairs you lie in for your treatment are full upper body and neck shiatsu massage chairs. You have control over what parts you want worked in and the intensity level, and all that was included in a more than reasonable price. Both thumbs up from me, keep it going. This place is dirty and I had a very bad burn to my eye by a lazy young technician yesterday. She was too busy face timing her daughter on her phone to pay attention to what she was doing. I had to go to the ER at Roper after I got to my next appointment in West Ashley. My hair gal, Karen G, in WA, saw green gunk coming out of my eye. It was burning and red when I got to my car, but I did not realize how bad the injury was. I called and spoke with a man named Kit who told me he was the manager. He would NOT take any responsibility for what happened. Furthermore, he did not believe me and was very rude. Quite the asshole. They also said nothing to two customers not wearing masks. The man who gave me my pedicure was very nice and the massage chairs are awesome. I had my pedicure on Tuesday and left for my vacation on Saturday, my polish is already peeling and chipping on Friday. My toe polish should last longer than a few days. I was referred by a friend of mine and tried it out since it was so much closer than my other salon. I'm really glad I tried it because they did such a good job. I've gotten so many compliments on my pedicure in the few days since I've been, and they didn't even know I switched salons. They were very thorough and seemed to care about how my nails looked. I will definitely be back. If I was to recommend one thing, it would be to use a hot towel when rinsing the scrub off my legs. And one thing to note is they offer 15% off on Wednesday until 2:00. The regular price for a pedicure is $29. And a note to another review about the polish chipping...it's been 5 days since my pedicure and my nails still look great. By far the worst manicure I've ever received. I got SNS (powder dip) nails here today and will never go back. First of all they took a full two hours. They had to rebuff and redo half of my nails 3 times after they were still uneven and bumpy. He was going to go back for a fourth but I told him not to bother; I had had enough. Left the salon with two cut and bleeding cuticles, one nail fully white and scratched up and all the others looking like they'd lazily been hit with topcoat (still were half matte/half shiny). By the end I could tell that the staff had no idea what they were doing. Complete waste of $60, should've refused to pay honestly. Reminded myself why I strictly do my own nails. This by far was my worst mani and pedi experience. I gave one star because I have come twice before and had a great experience with the other nail specialists prior, but this was such a horrible experience I had to write a review! For beginners my pedicure was rushed. She barely rubbed or scrubbed my feet and completely disregarded the lotion massage that came with my package I asked for. She painted my toes the wrong color which in the grand scheme didn't bother me that much until I saw how horribly she painted them. Then when it came to my nails again a rushed manicure! I got gel polish and in two days you could see it rising and peeling by day 3. I have gotten gel numerous times before and NOT ONCE has it ever started rising and chipping that early. In addition it was a sloppy job. I got my nails done for a vacation and now this weekend I have to go to another salon to get this mess she did fixed and redone. Worst $70 I have every spent!!!!! As a disclaimer I have had two other nail specialist and they did a great job. So if you do decide to go here avoid Jenny.
