    Chorizo hash - nomnomnom

Yeah, it's a nice place for Brunch in Galway. I like the fact everything used in the cafe is bought in locally, the menu is different and leans towards clean eating - you get veggie/fruit juices for 2.50 which is a great price. Why only 3 stars? I didn't get warm with this place, there is something add about the setting, maybe it's am the canteen feeling or the uncomfortable chairs? Not sure, maybe it was only the specific day - I will give it another shout and then see.. Another point, I'd love for them to have healthy soup and homemade spelt bread!!!!!!

Lovely bright cafe near the Spanish arch. The menu has many tasty options from healthy salads and wraps to cooked dishes like fish cakes and breakfast options. You can also add toppings of chicken, ham or crispy tofu for an extra 1.50 euro. The coffee is great too and you have the option of soya milk. The cafe itself is very airy, bright and spacious and provides outdoor seating overlooking the river Corrib, so it's a great place to go to on a sunny day. However, the only reason I gave it 3 stars and not 5 was the service. The staff are extremely inattentive and slow, and it took ages to just get their attention. The food takes really long to come, about 20 mins for just salad. They also never seem to check on customers if everything is ok.

Really want to give 5 stars but the service let it down a little. The staff are inattentive and seem totally disinterested in their job. Perhaps I caught them on an off day! The food is fab great choice of healthy dishes something different can be found here. The decor is lovely with seating outside available too.

Since I don't live in Galway city, I spend a lot of my time there wandering around looking for somewhere to sit and do some work, grab some food and just kill the time! This is the perfect spot for all of that. They also do a great breakfast, which is the golden egg for me. I'm borderline obsessed with French Toast at this stage. It's a good batch here too, though I might complain that I'd prefer my maple syrup on the side, whereas here its already poured over. That said, I've been here maybe three times now, and I haven't asked them to change it...so it's obviously not that bad! The place is bright and airy and right by the river, so quiet but with a nice bustle. As far as I know it gets pretty busy at brunch, though we had no problem getting a table the one Sunday we made it. The service is great, the food is delicious and there's a lot of creativity in the decor. It's cute without being hipster in the slightest and the crowd reflects that. Great chai latte too, probably the best I've had! YUM

Great for brunch or just tea and cake. Progressive, interesting menu in a clean, comfortable open space right next to the museum.

It has good selection of beer, cider and cocktails. The porn star cocktail was delicious. The staff work hard to keep up with getting drinks and keeping things clean. They do not have food upstairs, where the music was. There was a restaurant on the lower level where you could get something to eat. The space is pretty big with bar seating and tables. It has the whole world pub vibe.

We're just about there when the manager comes up behind us and said he found a table. Pretty impressive service. The table was in a medium sized room away from the music which was great as you could hold a conversation. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders and once we had the drinks be places our order, cottage pie and fish and chips. The cottage pie was served in a small, but not too small oval baking dish with a nicely browned top on the potatoes. It also came with a side of gravy which was a nice touch. Digging in there was a good amount of pulled well seasoned brisket with carrots mixed. Very tasty dish. The fish and chips arrived with a good portion chips and a moderately sized piece of well fried fish. The fish was very fresh and flaky and the breading was very light so it didn't over power the fish. We had a pleasant meal with two great servers, a manager that wouldn't give up on finding us a table and great music (acoustic guitar) to keep us enter. Definitely a great place for drinks and a good meal and one that we will gone back to.

Opened in 2011 by chef Jess Murphy and her husband, Dave, Kai has become one of Galway's most celebrated restaurants. While it doesn't have a Michelin star for fine dining, it has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand and Ireland's only Michelin Green Star, recognizing both its outstanding food and commitment to local, sustainable ingredients. What impressed me most wasn't just how delicious everything tasted. Every plate looked like it belonged in an art gallery. We started with the Kelly oysters and Kai's signature Cupla Crab. The crab looked more like a modern sculpture than dinner, and the flavors were every bit as impressive as the presentation. The rainbow carrots may have been the best carrots I've ever eaten. And when a restaurant serves bread as good as Kai's Hapi Bakery loaf with incredible butter, it's easy to fill up before the entrées even arrive. For the mains, Brady's Strip Steak was perfectly charred and incredibly tender, while the signature Black Sole was outstanding. The Andarl pork chop was the only dish that didn't quite reach the same level, as we found it just a touch dry. The oregano potatoes made a hearty side for the table. Dessert finished the evening on a high note. Mum's Pavlova was almost too beautiful to eat, and my Smokey Teeling Whiskey Fudge & Espresso was the perfect ending.

You can tell they take pride in using high-quality ingredients. The menu is short but the options are fantastic. The wait staff were exceptional: friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. If you're in Galway, I highly recommend going for lunch. The menu is the same as dinner, but the wait is much shorter. You're able to have the same amazing food with a more relaxed experience.
