I found this hidden gem when I was traveling through the area. Just about everything here is homemade and the bagels come in fresh. The pastries and sandwich was perfect and the drinks were hot and their own piece of work. It was comfortable, clean, and you could smell the fresh scent of coffee and breads - absolute heaven. I hope to be through this area again to maybe try one of their other dishes. read more

Such a cute little cafe! The Kitchen Table is run by proprietor Leanne who is super friendly and seems to know all the locals who come in to order. The cafe itself is large with some socially distanced seating. There is internet in the cafe, and I saw a couple people working inside on their laptop. They have a nice selection of baked goods (all made by Leanne). They also have made to order breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches (I heard from a friend the BLT is amazing!). I ordered an iced latte and a chive and cheddar biscuit. The iced latte was great - nice espresso and a good milk to coffee ratio. The chive and cheddar scone........ possibly the best scone I've ever had? It was almost like a biscuit butter bomb. It was large, moist, flavorful, lots of cheese and chive - basically perfect. It reminded be of the scones from Levain in Manhattan and the biscuits from Tandem in Portland, ME (being compared to these two is pretty much as good as it gets). This is a really cute little coffee bar that serves a verity of pastries and a limited lunch menu. The decor inside is cute, but seating is slightly limited indoors. There is a really nice, mostly shaded patio that you can sit on in the back. We went during a Sunday farmers market and the staff seemed to be really distracted hanging out with each other, especially for how busy it was. Other than that, it was pretty decent food, but lacked seasoning. Overall, I'd go back but probably not regularly. read more

My son and I had breakfast at the Kitchen Table in Callicoon. Although the ingredients were very good and prepared nicely, the lack of service affected my enjoyment. The counter person did bring the dishes to our table but no silverware. After eating with my fingers for a few minutes, I needed a knife and fork so I had to get up and look around for the plastic utensils which were in back hidden from the dining tables. When you order a sandwich here don't have your heart set on what you ordered. They give you what THEY want. Ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs and American. Received a bacon sandwich with a fried egg. When I returned it, I was told they would fix it. The person I was with also ordered a sandwich. Scrambled eggs and bacon. Brought it back and as told that the could not make scrambled eggs because the kitchen was "too full". (Then why take the order? Also scrambled is easier when busy than individual fried eggs. ) He ate his. Mine came back with the egg runny and cheese (shredded) was cold. Took it back and was done. Our go to coffee shop in the area. The owners are the kindest folks around. I love their blueberry scones and peanut butter cookies. We also love their Tuesday night dinners - it is always something tasty that you can't find in the area and is very affordable. You can order ahead online which is great. read more
