I came here when I was traveling through the area for work. I needed to eat lunch and found this place on Yelp. It's super cute and a million times better than stopping at a chain or fast food place. I got a Gilles turkey sandwich with a salad. They bring you a dressing caddy with 3 dressings to choose from, which was pretty cool. And to top it all off, I was in and out in 30 minutes. I am from Marshfield and this has been my favorite restaurant since I can remember. The breakfasts are amazing - eggs benedict is great and so is the peasant omelet that has potatoes, onions and bacon. The lunches are even better - Vern's sandwich with a ton of tuna, cheese and tomato. They use homemade bread for all of their sandwiches and trying the homemade dressing is must! It is amazing! I go home for a couple days at a time and have to go in 2 or 3 times, once for lunch, once for breakfast and once for a daily special, which are always rotating and always really great and different from other things on the menu! The staff are great which makes the service great. The Mochas are a must with fresh whipped cream! I love this place, everyone I know loves this place. read more

Stopped in here on a business trip. The BEST pancakes I've ever had in a restaurant. Bar none. Fresh hot coffee that's always topped off. Wow, what a terrific spot. I was warned ahead of time that it could be very busy but it wasn't bad when we arrived. This is a very special place where the people are friendly and they really care about their food. Excellent food, excellent service. Since other reviews demanded that we stop here on our way through Marshfield, we decided to give it a shot...in spite of the cash only requirement (c'mon!). We were greeted by friendly staff and seated in a quaint little book by the window. The place was jumping with what appeared to be locals. I was surprised to find that any sandwich on the limited menu started around $8 (this is with only a side of no frill potato chips); albeit, you could get salad or fruit as a side...but who wants that with a burger or BLT? We ordered a BLT and cheeseburger for lunch...it was ok, but nothing to write home about or inspire a return visit. Long story-short, quaint, good service, but overpriced and underwhelmed. read more

I'm a Marshfield native, and I love The Kitchen Table! Must visit, every time I am home. The breakfasts are amazing, with the home made breads and delectable jams and spreads. Lunch is fantastic too, especially if you love a good salad with home made dressing (their Green Goddess is my favourtie salad dressing of all time). Home made desserts like bread pudding and pie are a great way to end the meal. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, even when it's extra busy, and the family style seating is a nice touch too. I was in town for business and stopped here for lunch. Their daily special was Mexican lasagna, which I didn't order, but it took all of my self control to stick to my New Years resolution of choosing healthier foods. I grew up on KT food. It is the standard to which I measure breakfast and lunch places to this day. All of their bread is homemade; they even chip their own beef. It's hard to beat the huevos rancheros or the peasant omelet with homemade toast for breakfast. Or the Third Street Sandwich (with added lettuce) for lunch. The staff is always friendly and will most likely remember repeat customers. The 11:00 line between breakfast and lunch is hard and fast, no leeway in either direction and it's cash only. read more

My first impression was a "hole in the wall." The food was average. The fruit had rines on it, the toast was soggy and the omelet kind of sat in my stomach all day. The waitress was friendly, but mixed up two of our orders. Most appalling was the "common" salsa and jelly jars that were moved from table to table. There was only one "unisex" bathroom.
