He is not really a comedy guy at all, but he nailed it. So I signed for the class next day. I wasn't sure.. someone can teach me to write a joke, but as time pass by in Jeff's class, exactly 6 weeks later, I had my 5 minutes comedy routine to perform on stage. It was kind of magical. I didn't just learn how to write jokes but also worked on delivery, study different techniques, practice, had enormous help from Jeff's team, his feedback and support. I met new friends.. who were on the same page with me and created amazing memories on working with them on stage and off stage. Taking Jeff Justice workshop is an amazing experience and can be helpful to anyone with sense of humor or not. You don't believe, try it yourself! :)

I have had more than a few occasions where I need to put an audition on tape asap and get it out same day etc...we all know how it goes...and although there are several options for taping around town--I have found Compass to be the most professional by far. Every time I have emailed them regarding a same day appointment or a really tight deadline they respond to me within the hour (maximum!) That's pretty awesome when your under the gun. In addition to the super professional service, they are nice--genuinely so...helpful and actually care about your audition and your satisfaction. And in our region the larger group gets together a few times each year, letting our exchange kids hang out with other exchange students and we get to meet up with other host parents. We paid over DKK 100,000 to send our son on the most important journey of his life, but instead of care and responsibility, we were met with cynical assembly-line work. The well-being and human needs of the individual student are completely ignored. The biggest failure is their cold and deficient communication. There is zero coordination between the offices in Denmark and the USA, meaning vital information regarding our son never reaches the host family properly. ASSE even prioritizes sending promotional materials to the host family for future recruitment rather than ensuring the safety and well-being of the current student. Handling important messages about a child via a short, cold text message to the host family is deeply irresponsible. Furthermore, the local office in Denmark is virtually unreachable, leaving repeated calls unanswered. We are clearly not alone in this; currently, a staggering 32% of ASSE's reviews are 1-star ratings, which speaks volumes about their lack of accountability. We feel our money has been completely wasted on an organization that has lost its sense of responsibility. There are many other exchange organizations to choose from, so do yourself a favor and pick another one. Do you really dare to take the chance with your child? Stay far away from ASSE.

After class one day at the studio, my mentor introduced me to a Live Sound Engineer that owns a…read morelocal sound company that needed a extra guy to help out around the shop, come to gigs and help wrap cables and do tech work. After a few weeks of doing grunt work I started to mix some shows and he realized that I had a good ear. He decided to hire me as a Lead Engineer for a 10-piece band that he had just taken on. After working really hard and getting more Live Sound experience and gigs I was able to quit my full time job at a big chain music store and work full time doing live sound. I found out that live sound suited me better than Studio work. Live sound is very fast paced environment and I get to work on different gear in different rooms, with different situations every gig. After graduating from the Recording Connection I've been working with a Live Sound company and I have gotten the opportunity to mix Monitors and Front of House for a variety of National Acts like, Ambrosia, Chad Smith (RHCP), Eddie Money, Edgar Winter Band, Fuel, Firehouse, George Lynch, Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall), John Waite (Bad English), John Corabi (Motley Crew, Ratt), Johnny Rabb (The New Deal), LA Guns, Little River Band, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas (Motown), Robben Ford, Simon Kirke (Bad Company), The Three Degrees (Motown), Victor Wooten and many more. Depending on if the band travels with an Engineer depends on what I do on that particular gig. If they bring an engineer I am a Stage Tech, if they don't I'll usually end up behind a console. I've been very lucky to work with big acts and I've gained more experience than I ever thought was possible in such a small amount of time. Along with mixing national acts I have also been privileged enough to work behind the console for high profile speakers such as Steve Forbes, Governor Ed Rendell, Mayor Michael Nutter, Merrill Reese, and the head coach of the Eagles Andy Reid. I've been so busy with work, I went back to my mentor and taken a few Recording Connection students and graduates to provide them with on the job experience to assist me with gigs. Without Recording Connection none of this would have been possible. I'm living a dream of mine and I'm glad I decided to leave traditional college and work to become a Professional Audio Engineer.

The truth is that I can NOT find a job to support my family. This industry pays people minimal wage for washing items none stop. This industry hires a lot of people with NO paperwork At ALL. You do NOT need to go here to work in this industry. The same situation happens to my best friend Lyssa. If I know that my sister sold her kidney in China to support my school fees, I will Never go to ANY school. I will testify in media and court for this.
