I was very happy that they were doing flights, which disappeared at many breweries. Our waitress was Ashley, who was amazing. She was attentive. She knew the beer. Came in late but just beat it before they closed the kitchen. Got the fried pickles, decent, not the best but not the worst, and got chicken wings. Not the best experience we've ever had. The bar tender wasn't very pleasant and in fact a little down right rude. Our mixed drinks didn't have much flavor either. We opted to continue our Sturgis experience elsewhere.... Maybe the attitude works during the rally when they are overly busy, but shouldn't be acceptable at any other time of the year. read more

I asked the waitress to tell the cook to not add salt to my order. She said she could not accommodate me because they are way too busy for such special requests. Note that this was a week before the rally had started. So I walked across the street to the side hack saloon where my no-added-salt request was happily accommodated. Next year I'm planning to move into Sturgis and make it my permanent home. Needless to say that the knuckle saloon is one place I will never eat again. And I will pass this experience on to many of my senior friends who have also reached that age where added salt is no longer part of their diet due to old age high blood pressure problems. read more

We like coming here when we're in town. Sometimes it gets busy and you fall through the cracks which is disappointing. But tonight was one of those nights where it wasn't too busy the waiter was friendly and attentive. And as ALWAYS the food was delicious! If you have been in South Dakota for 4 days and can only find ice berg lettuce for a salad or not on any menu at all, then make a beeline for The Knuckle Brewing Company in Sturgis. Delicious mixed greens, tender grilled chicken breast and strong on flavors. My sweetheart had the hamburger and onion rings and was great as well. Even the Diet Coke was real! We worried because there were varied reviews. We love great beer but also want good food. We took a chance and went to Knuckle Brewing on a Friday night. We ordered a couple of beers and Vicki came roaring in with them about 2.3 seconds after we placed the order-not a joke. Got the boneless chicken wings with Habanero Mango sauce and a Pesto..something flatbread. The wings were breaded (something I generally hate) but they were tasty! The flatbread was also delicious! Decent atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food is just average. I ordered the Beef Dip. The brisket tasted great, but there was barely anything on the bun. Dont expect a snobby waiter, linen tablecloths, and polished silver and china at this establishment. You will get plastic forks, paper napkins, and plastic cups of beer at the Knuckle, but you were going to eat with your hands anyway. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. read more

Terrible staff. I don't think I've ever been somewhere where the staff ignored their customers this bad. Three waitresses sat at the end of the bar gossiping the entire time we were here. We only ordered appetizers and one drink and we got our second appetizer 25 minutes after our first one which is a bit ridiculous considering it was a pretzel. My wife and I like to order beer flights when visiting a new brewery. It's a good way to sample the product and get an idea of what you like. I asked the bartender if they have flights and he immediately snickered. He then turned his back to me, pointed up to the beer listings on the wall and said "You get four." Obviously this individual has a problem with customers who don't order pints. Thanks for the attitude jerk! Needless to say, we will not be returning. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer, service was lacking. We had to hunt down another waitress for our check because our waitress was sitting at a table chatting. She didn't offer more drinks or follow up after our food was delivered. Too bad, we would've ordered more beer. The positive is that the beer was good and I recommend the Gouda bites (fried Mac n Cheese). The pizza is a hard pass. The fire grill is a good concept if you have good crust. They made us feel extremely welcome (being from out of town) and told us about some great places to visit in South Dakota. The merchandise, beer and food all get an A+! My wife Linda and I were just out in South Dakota for a vacation and we stopped in at the knuckle for lunch one afternoon. We walked in and sat ourselves our server was Cole was very nice and pleasant we ordered chicken flatbread pizza and honey garlic wings my wife had ice water I had one of there beers. The food was outstanding the wings were the best we ever had was served quickly and Cole couldn't have been more friendly the whole experience was fantastic.
