Nestled in the historical Deadwood is Jacob's Brewhouse. If you're in the mood for great food and a fantastic selection of beer, this is your jam. Our service was great. The food was really good. We had fish and chips, bison burger and a pastrami burger. Messy is good, real good. The beer we tried was the Irish ale and raspberry ale. Both were very good. Parking in the rear can be a little confusing. The machines screens are terrible. Not the establishments fault. Our server was so helpful and showed me the app to get to pay for parking. Much easier than trying to use those machines. Also it doesn't matter if you choose miller lot 1 or 2.

I definitely recommend this place!! 10/10! Delicious food, I ate everything bite of this salad. We got sat right away on a Saturday night with no reservation. ( we tried several completely booked restaurants) Jacobs were open late and were very attentive to us. Food came out fast and it was the perfect place to fix my hangry mood lol

Awesome food!! We did the "Iron chef" meal. Great food and a fun activity. The owner was super nice and spoke to us also.

We had a good meal with good service. I had the pasta carbonara. The beer selection is good too. They also have a nice outdoor space.

We came in during a busy weekend and were seated right away. The chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly and the nachos were presented so well. Overall a decent meal.

Big fan of this little brewhouse! The cute, musical decor has you wanting to walk around and look at everything like you're in an old school Hard Rock Cafe, but also homey. There is a patio area, weather permitting. Lots of drink options. We started with a round of waters and mimosas... the mimosas went down quick so we all were back at the menu figuring out what was next! I went with the Huckleberry Mule (I mean how can you not go with the huckleberry option when you're in this part of the country?!) -- it was deliciously refreshing! We started with the chislic, which is always a staple in South Dakota. A little different than the typical OG flash fried version. Didn't seem fried in any sense and had blue cheese mixed in with it, along with a side of some kind of dill dipping sauce that was delicious. Great flavor and a nice upscale spin on a local favorite. For the main course I went with the Walleye! Where I'm from you can't get it so I was pumped it was on the menu. It's a white flakey fish that was fried to perfection with great flavor! The fries it comes with were decent, nothing to write home about, but might as well add it to the letter because you'll be writing for days after eating the walleye. In addition, we got the kids homemade Mac & Cheese (I can never pass Mac & Cheese up if it's homemade)! It was creamy and spot on with a taste of an array of cheeses that nicely melt together to appease your tastebuds! The waitress was super nice, the service was quick and the atmosphere was enjoyable! Highly recommend if you're in deadwood, definitely one of the best restaurants in the town!

Just really tasty! We started with the soup and the flavor was outstanding! I had to try Chislic(marinated sirloin tips) which seems to be a local favorite menu item and my husband got the SD Stampede bison burger! He liked the burger but we LOVED the Chislic! So flavorful and tender! The fries were good but could've been a tiny bit hotter! The atmosphere is very cool! Lots of guitars and band memorabilia! Very cool shop in between the restaurant and the bar. It was just after opening on a Sunday, so we had our choice of places to sit and definitely the best server: Justin! Ask for him, he's a seasoned server with lots of area and menu item knowledge. He's also just very friendly and attentive! If you're in Deadwood SD, definitely stop in and eat at Jacob's!

Amazing spot! Great beer. Great wine. Great food. Great service. Comfortable space. We're big fans! They're also dog friendly with a dog menu if you've got a pet with you.

This place was a major disappointment. It was our favorite place our last visit 4 years ago, where the buffalo burgers were outstanding. Fries used to also be outrageously delicious and plentiful, with everything pouring off the plate. Portion size has seriously gone through some major shrinkage here. Potato-wise and meat-wise. I almost never eat meat, but do when it's wild game. Although the burger was still flavorful, we both noticed a big difference in the size. Our last trip we ate here numerous times, and this trip we only went there once in 7 days. Service was ridiculously slow when there was no one in there. We got there at 4:45, before the dinner rush. We were seated upstairs, so the server had to go up and down a lot. He forgot my salad, which I wanted before the burger came out. We had to ask for every little thing: ketchup, napkins, silverware. The waiter seemed to be on another planet. It just wasn't a great experience, which is why we did not go back.

Nice dog friendly restaurant! Came here for some matcha and then decided on dinner. We got the chicken sandwich which we enjoyed. Others got the peach salad which was okay. They felt it had can ed peaches and didn't like that the prosciutto was cooked too much. Over nice spot for big or small groups!

We enjoyed our lunch at Jacob's! I had a Bloody Mary with their local Bloody Mary mix and it was delicious- perfect amount of spice and flavor without being too spicy. I ordered the fish and chips- they were good but honestly pretty bland. My hubby had a burger and it was great. The jalapeno ranch is a must order for your fries! Overall we enjoyed our time and meal and would visit again.

Bonus Stop, not on the Hop Passport (yet?)…read more I'm going to have to start with agreeing with another reviewer on the credit card policy. We prefer to pay cash with small businesses to keep them from having to pay credit card fees (or us for that matter, if the fees are passed on to the consumer) but that seems to be unacceptable here. I completely understand having a card on file for keeping a tab open but it makes zero sense to require a card when someone wants to pay cash. We ordered a flight and wanted to pay cash but were told they needed a credit card regardless, just in case. Just in case what? I'm paying for my order before I get it. I would then be free to leave when I choose without additional work for staff or, well, me. Especially since there is indeed a credit card fee here, since we were told the cash price on closing out exactly what we initially ordered - "just let me pay and be done with it" (quoting the hubs). I'd seriously rethink that policy. On to the beer, there were a couple of stand outs, including our favorites the Dark Lager & Mouse Trap. As well as middle of the road brews, falling in the 3 range. We loved the collabs. It's always great to see businesses support each other. There are pizzas on the menu that looked pretty interesting but, circling back to point 1, we were annoyed enough by the credit card requirement that we opted for 1 & done, unfortunately. Note: there's some awesome merch &, I believe, meat for sale. Super cool.

Starter and food, drinks, etc., are brought promptly to the table. This is exceptional in a highly popular tourist area. The food is good but could use a little improvement--the grilled mahi-mahi was good, but a little on the dry sauce and definitely needed a sauce. A couple of the dishes did have sauces, but fish is why most Creole restaurants like Brennan's will serve a sauce on the side, or a topping with butter such as Trout Almandine. It doesn't have to be a fancy sauce--the option of good ol' tartar sauce works. The grilled vegetables also needed a little more butter and seasoning. Carrots are good on their own; broccoli and cauliflower need a little cheese or butter and some seasoning to be loved. The IPA (Long John) was excellent. The beer cheese dip and soft pretzels were to die for; the chardonnay was passable. A great choice for dining in a VERY heavily traveled tourist destination. Get there early--it starts filling up fast and all the restaurants around Mount Rushmore close at 9.

The upstairs area of this restaurant was stifling hot; I would've been uncomfortable on a normal day, even if I wasn't slightly overheated and sunburned from a day outside. I heard several other people complain about how hot it was; it seems like even a small box fan would be helpful to circulate the air upstairs. The service seemed slow, but our server was friendly. We mostly stopped here for the old firehouse atmosphere because we thought our kids would enjoy it, and they did, and enjoyed getting plastic fire hats to wear while eating. Our food was fine. My son got the mac & cheese off the kids menu which he did not enjoy and said it was gross. It looked to be fine and he's just picky, but he's not actually a picky eater so something was a little off with it. We got the beer bread for our youngest son to nibble on, but he wouldn't touch it and none of the rest of us ate it after having a bite because it was stale and tasteless. My husband got a reuben, which they advertise as one of their specialties and said it pretty tasted like a generic reuben. There was nothing special or particularly delicious about it. I got the western burger, which was good and I enjoyed the marmalade topping on it. I don't love battered fries, which is what they serve, but they weren't bad. Just not my preference. We also got a side of baked beans for kids, but they were very sweet and the beans were still pretty firm so they did not love them. It seems like the reviews are mixed, but if we were in the area again, we would probably not return.
