Fried dumplings (Yakimandu)

Food is good. Starr is nice. Prices are reasonable. Store has some Korean goodies to choose from; snacks, sauces, etc. Will visit again.

This store reminds me a small mom-and-pop shop in South Korea (in rural area). The owner and other workers are hardworking people for sure and never lose smile on their face (much appreciate that from a customer perspective). This store serves two main purposes. One purpose is a Korean grocery store where they sell essential Korean items to locals. From Korean spices to famous Korean pre-made side dishes (ban-chan), they are all great (even price is right on). Second purpose is a Korean restaurant. Their menu has been expanded but still limited. If you have tried Korean food from big cities (e.g.: Duluth Georgia), their food may taste different and may not like it. Their dishes are more like home-cooked meals than typical Korean restaurant style food which attracts me the most though. You can always find restaurant style Korean foods in bigger cities, but home-cooked style Korean food are rare to find. Friendly service and delicious food are the best ingredients I could ever ask for. Here are tips: Parking: limited and free (about 5 cars but if you ask the owner, she may let you use her private parking lot in the back) Food: Home-cooked style Korean food with limited menu Ambiance: This is not a typical restaurant and very basic (a few tables and chairs with no decor) Restroom: One gender free restroom (only for their customers and clean) Price: reasonable and inexpensive Service: Attentive and friendly

Wow! Drove almost 30 min from the beach but darned worth the drive I present to you, my "drunch"-(lunch n dinner because I couldn't possibly eat again today!) KIMBAP- Those sushi roll looking pieces OJINGEO BOKKEUM: Delicious, mildly spicy octopus stir fry! This small grocer has 4 tables tucked in the back. She makes the meal to order. Amazing food. Frankly hit the jackpot -1 star because they don't have ambience. Some background music would be good!

The women there are very nice and the food is so delicious. The market is stocked so nicely and I definitely felt welcome as a white person who doesn't know much about Asian food.

They are selling live baby turtles as beach souvenirs, crammed into tiny plastic cages like they are disposable toys. Inside the ice-cold water were four dead turtles floating among the living ones. Seeing that alone was awful, but what happened next made me sick. I told an employee that another turtle looked like it was dying. She picked up the turtle, while it was still alive, and threw it straight into the garbage like it was trash. Not dead. Alive. Thrown away. I waited until she walked off, then pulled the turtle out of the garbage myself because I could not leave it there to die. I am now trying to save it. There were no care instructions, no concern, no humanity. These are freshwater yellow-bellied cooters, not throwaway vacation novelties. How many tourists buy these animals with no idea how to care for them? How many end up neglected, abandoned, or dumped into the ocean when the trip is over, where a freshwater turtle has no chance of surviving? What I saw was not just upsetting. It was cruel. It was cold. It was inhumane. These animals are being treated like cheap impulse items until they die, and the people selling them do not seem to care. Do not support this place. Do not give money to a business that treats living creatures as disposable souvenirs.

The owner is delightful and is a collector of vintage items and machines from the 1950s. One of the ways he shares this love for his vintage collection is by demonstrating how they work for the kids. It is a wonderful experience! He let us try out the vending machine, inserting the coins, and then taking the bottled Pepsi or other sodas from the machine. Definitely an amazing experience! As if the store didn't hold enough wonders and interesting artifacts, in the back of the store is also a 1950s pay phone that actually works! They also have everything from drinks, snacks, convenience items, beach necessities and etc. Check out their awesome T-shirt display! Thank you to the owner for the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience such wonders from the 50s. Don't miss out! The best store in 30A!!!
