Italian Sausage with onions and peppers (special)
    Billy T.

After having a less than ideal dining experience in the area, I had a much better experience at Korner Shop. My family came by on a Saturday evening at around 7, and it was fairly busy. However, service was exceptional throughout my entire time there. The worst part was, unfortunately, the food. I ordered the italian sausage with peppers and onions which was very average. The bun was not even toasted, and the sausage didn't look much better. For dessert, the blackberry cobbler was okay.

This is the cutest place, the best service, the most wonderful food! Sausage gravy, biscuits, chip beef gravy, home fries, omelet!!! Great coffee and the staff was soooo busy but made you feel if you hadn't come in their day wouldn't have been the same! 10 star!!!!!!!

The best breakfast in town. Friendly, clean, and great food! We ate creamed chipped beef and a waffle and both were outstanding!

I ordered the El Diablo Latte, and it was phenomenal. The cayenne and ancho brought a gentle warmth, the cinnamon and vanilla rounded it out, and the chocolate and espresso tied it all together beautifully. Spiced, smooth, and perfectly balanced. I also had a V60 pour-over of their seasonal Costa Rican single origin, and it was incredibly clean and expressive. I genuinely tasted the pomegranate and hibiscus notes, with a subtle cocoa finish. Bright without being sharp -- just a really well-executed cup. The triple ginger scone was the perfect pairing with the latte -- tender inside, lightly crisp outside, and warmly spiced without overpowering. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, the space was welcoming, and the quality across the board was top-tier. My only suggestion? Stickers. I'd absolutely put one on my laptop. Highly recommend.

I asked for the bagel to be sliced, which they did and then I was not given a knife so I had to ask again for a knife to spread the cream cheese. I then waited for an extended period of time for my latte, no there was not a line a of drinks to be made. The barista gave my drink away so I asked if my drink would be ready soon and she told me that someone must have taken it, she then promptly made the latte. The bagel was cold and dry, even with the cream cheese. The latte however was moderately enjoyable. Overall, I will not be returning.

The town itself has that perfect mountain-arts vibe--historic brick buildings, quiet streets, and a steady flow of hikers, skiers, and road-trippers--and TipTop fits right into that rhythm. The shop is cozy and unpretentious, the kind of café where the warmth from the espresso machine and the conversations around the room cut through the mountain chill. It feels local in the best way--welcoming without trying too hard. But the real highlight is the coffee. The cup I had was excellent: clean, balanced, and clearly prepared by people who care about the craft. It had the kind of clarity and sweetness that stands out, especially when you're used to road-trip coffee stops that are just "good enough." This was genuinely memorable. If you're passing through the Canaan Valley / Blackwater Falls area or chasing powder at Timberline or Canaan Valley Resort, TipTop Coffee is absolutely worth the stop. It's proof that even in a small Appalachian ski town, you can still find a cup that would hold its own in much bigger coffee cities. A mountain gem.

I always make it a point to visit whenever I'm in town and always highly recommend this location to others!

However there are some things that are off about this place. Firstly whenever I order a coffee they'll give it to me in a random cup. Sometimes a mug, others a paper cup and even a glass cup. Not necessarily bad just odd. What is odd though is the employees reaction to not getting tips. They will give you nasty looks and lower quality service for not tipping on a 5 dollar coffee. I have one friend who was even made fun of. They will go as far as making fun of him for being gay when he isn't just for not tipping. I like supporting small businesses but the customer service needs work here.

Elkins has came a long way over the years and to have this wonderful establishment in its town is a plus for everyone including the college kids. Also, the PB&J bar is stupid good and their iced dirty chai lattes with almond milk are stupendous!!! Two must haves when visiting. Go enjoy it as much as I always do when I am in town.

Thanks to Coffee Hound for the refund and educating the employee. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Took my wife here, specifically for a Matcha, and it was TERRIBLE. We went Sunday, June 14th after noon. There was a gentleman and a young lady that wore a hoodie with a hat. She seemed unhappy the second we walked in. She made a severely diluted, watery Matcha. When my wife pointed it out, the barista insisted it was because of the brand of Almond Milk. (Yet, my wife gets Matchas with Almond Milk everyday - and they are NOT watery!) She didn't offer to remake it, didn't offer to make it thicker. Nothing. We ended up getting another Matcha from another coffee shop and DUMPED (wasted our money on) Coffee Hounds almost $10 Matcha (including tip). My wife tried to drink the watery matcha but I just couldn't take it. We stopped at another coffee shop, and got her a Matcha from somewhere that knows what a Matcha is and how to make it. Maybe next time Coffee Hound will teach their employees better customer service and how to make quality Matchas for their prices! Or getter "better" Almond Milk.
