    Adopting the COVID safe way!
    Robert S.

My mother's little emotional support dog passed away just before Thanksgiving. COVID has made the isolation she's feeling very difficult so our search for a new companion began rather quickly. I saw a sweet little dog on Petharbor and contacted the West LA Animal Shelter and they referred me to LA Love and Leashes. I must say that the entire process of communicating with LA Love and Leashes was seamless. The website is very clear and they take the time to provide all the details of how they've adapted for COVID, as well as little bios for each animal. Check out their Instagram account. I was able to show my mother extra photos and even a video of the dog we wanted to meet. They got back to me very quickly after we submitted the application. We arranged a time to meet the dog and I brought my mother in. They require that you bring masks AND gloves so don't forget them! My mother fell in love with the dog and after finishing up some paperwork our search for a new companion for my mother ended. The entire experience was so positive. They really care about placing their animals with the right people. Their adoption fees are the same as the city which is 3 or sometimes 4 times less expensive than other shelters in the city who charge upwards of $400 for their fees. We decided to also give a donation on top of the regular fee because we saved so much money and had such an amazing experience. 5/5 would recommend to anyone searching for a new furry friend.

Jody was extremely rude and refused to schedule me. I talked to 3 employees and was turned away individually by each of them but 1 who didn't say anything. Very disappointing, all I wanted was to adopt a small dog. Guess that's what you get at shopping center adoption stores. Very sad :(

I got 2 dogs from Love and Leashes since 2014, and both became my best friends. Lots of cute, well-behaved dogs are available. They are the best... LAL is diligent about screening adoptive parents (people) to make sure their dogs go to good homes.

Love my Charlotte, formerly known as "Dolce" she is an 9 year old min pin mix. Can't imagine life before her! Loved our experience with LA love and leashes. They were super helpful and supportive. I received quite a few nice goodies and discounts with her adoption as well. She's the love of our lives.

My Hen Wen, the best thing I ever took home from a mall. Thanks LA Love and Leashes!

I adopted my sweet dog from them 3 yrs. ago. They work with the LA animal shelters. Fees are nominal. I highly recommend them.

A few years ago, a friend of mine adopted a dog from here - a beautiful tripod chihuahua mix. She was happy with the adoption process and loves her little princess. I was having dinner next door and stopped in to check the store out. As expected, the place is meticulously perfect and the décor is bougie with lots of cute plush dog toys & merch. Off to the side is a section where the fur babies that are up for adoption reside in posh play pens with white picket fences. There is also a nice area on the rooftop where potential adopters can spend quality time with their future fur baby. The staff here are very friendly, and I got to meet one of the pups named Meatball as he was on his way out for a walk. Thank you LVP for your dedication to helping our furry friends. *Metered street parking

Their adoption process made it clear that they genuinely care about finding the right match; not just for the adopter, but for the puppy as well. They took the time to consider my lifestyle, experience, and capabilities while also ensuring my puppy would be placed in the best possible home. The fact that they rescue so many dogs from high-kill shelters, combined with their incredible network of dedicated foster families, speaks volumes about their professionalism and commitment. It's obvious that everyone involved is passionate about giving these dogs the love and care they deserve. I was especially impressed by the foster who cared for my puppy. He came to me already potty pad trained, incredibly calm, affectionate, and full of confidence. It was clear he had been nurtured in a loving environment, which made the transition into my home so much easier. That experience gave me confidence that Wags & Walks entrusts their animals to truly exceptional fosters. I am so grateful to Wags & Walks for helping me find my new best friend and lifelong companion. If you're looking to adopt, I can't recommend them highly enough.

We found Wags & Walks and sent in an application for a dog. The next day I received a call from Jade, an adoption coordinator. She asked what my family and I were looking for in a dog and right then I knew this was the rescue I wanted to work with. I didn't feel rushed and I could tell this rescue truly cares about all the dogs and the foster/adoption process. We set a time to visit their facility the following week and met Jade. She was so patient with me and my family while we met a few dogs and made our decision. We took our Lil Bit as a foster for a week to make sure he was the right fit for our family and while he was still taking his medication Wags & Walks was giving him for his cold. The week we were fostering I was in contact with Jade and she answered all my questions in a timely manner. We adopted a week later. Jade offered for us to take Lil Bit back so they could do one more medical check before the adoption was finalized. Jade also sat with me and went through all the adoption forms. During this entire process, I never felt rushed or forced to adopt. I was guided with kindness and patience. Also, Wags & Walks facility is super clean and organized and all the staff we met were so nice and friendly.

We met "Greyson" at the East Valley Shelter in Van Nuys and was scheduled to euthanized on 4/17 because of a condition called Enteopion, where the eyelids grow inward. So his lashes have been irritating his eyes his whole life. The surgery is expensive, we went home and did our research calling several Pitbull rescues. So many amazing people lead us to Mahkala, who is connected with PetSpace. We were then connected with Patricia was able to get the surgery approved, if we agreed to Foster to Adopt. She picked up Greyson from the pound and took him to get the surgery. We picked him up, and after 2 weeks of shepherding him through his healing, took him back to PetSpace to have his stitches removed. The only hiccups we've had was unclear communication at times. In dealing with several other folks via text, email, our valid and pertinent questions seemed to be more of an annoyance and not answering. "We don't have that info" or "It hasn't been updated in our system" were frequent answers to our inquiries pertain to the dog. The facility is wonderful, the store is pricy which was kind of surprising. I believe the people here know it's a special place. I loved how when I came by here, there was a staff member reading books aloud to children. There were activities and lots of valuable teaching material. The dogs were also in a clean and wonderful environment. It was definitely a different atmosphere from dog shelters. You can see the care and comfort prioritized for them. When one is napping, they even put down a blind for privacy! This experience definitely made me want to come back here in the future to adopt one day, and to give my dog a companion!
