Lauren was an attending midwife at our first daughter's birth, and she brought such a peaceful, calming presence to the birth of my first baby. During my entire pregnancy, Lauren was nothing but supportive and helpful. We laughed, and I cried during some emotional visits, but I always felt supported, loved and safe in her care. My daughter was nearly two weeks late, and while I was nervous about getting to our 'deadline', Lauren put my husband and I at ease and assured us everything would work out! Even though I was not a 'new' mom, getting back into nursing and all things newborns was a little difficult! Lauren was so helpful with all of my postpartum care, as well! Lauren is an amazing midwife, and she makes me want to have more babies just so that I can have another magical home birth!

I loved how soft, sweet & gentle she was. I also appreciated how she remained calm & grounded as my baby was born with his cord wrapped around his neck. She was on top of it and everything worked out smoothly, which I am so grateful for. She was great then & even more amazing when I had the pleasure of having her as my midwife for my 3rd baby boy! As my midwife, Lauren was very involved and attentive to every single need and desire I had. She was so supportive, which meant the world to me. Lauren is extremely knowledgeable and is still always building on that knowledge which I love! With her in charge, I felt more at ease during this pregnancy & especially during my delivery. She genuinely cares. She's there when you need her, even far after delivery. That includes being on top of all the paperwork too! We had Lauren encapsulate my placenta after both births with no complaints. We also loved the umbilical cord art she made. Should I decide to be so daring to have baby #4, I hope to have her by my side again! She is absolutely amazing!

I met with Frida, and she was truly so helpful and supportive. She gave me her full attention during the consultation and was not only informative, but also very real and authentic. Prior to visiting the BF Center, I'd taken a couple of breastfeeding courses online; but there is something about meeting with someone 1:1 (especially someone as kind and supportive as Frida) that really helped set my mind at ease. Unfortunately Ariana was no longer local to my area but regardless she responded promptly and offered a virtual consult. The virtual consult was so helpful. Ariana suspected my daughter wasn't lateralizing her tongue effectively enough causing the bottle refusal. She worked with us on exercises we could try and even referred us to a local chiropractor. After our consult Ariana followed up with an email of suggestions and tools which has been immensely helpful. Ariana has been so patient, answering every question thoroughly. We haven't been able to get my daughter back on a bottle but she is now taking a straw cup at 21 weeks old and I solely attribute that to Ariana's help. We can now rest easy knowing my daughter will be nourished while I'm away at work. I whole heartedly recommend Ariana to anyone. She is a god send.

She gave lot of amazing detailed information that no one else had given me, really gave me hope and trust that the work we are putting in is worth it. She saved my sanity and I will continue to use her during my feeding journey with my son until we feel confident we know what we are doing! Team Tongue Tie saved my breastfeeding journey with my second. One that I thought was going…read moreamazing until about 6/7 weeks in. I started getting frequent clogs, my baby was unreasonably fussy, had silent reflux, and started struggling to breastfeed. I had no idea what was going on -- my first child had no issues breastfeeding and I had been doing the exact same thing with my second. Luckily we were referred to TTT and they were incredible from the first phone call. We called frantically on a Friday afternoon after getting tipped off that our baby might have a tie. They were so quick to respond and Scott even took our intro phone call on a Saturday afternoon. We were in first thing on Monday morning for the procedure!! When you're in this desperate position to feed your baby, you KNOW how important speed is. I was SO thankful they were able to get us in so quickly - I may have cried a few silent tears of relief when he said we could come in on Monday morning. Everyone in the office was so helpful, kind, and understanding. The procedure was super quick and easy (as they tell you!). Although it was a bit traumatizing being freshly postpartum and exhausted, the team was so comforting and reassuring. I had this strange expectation that once we had the procedure, breastfeeding would magically be fixed. This was indeed not the case -- it was a much longer haul to get back to a successful breastfeeding situation. We had the ties (4 total) released at around ~7 weeks, but it took several months afterwards to get fully back to successful breastfeeding with little to no pumping. I say this for anyone reading this to gain realistic expectations. We had to go back for lactation appointments (Heather was amazing!) and I was still having to pump around the clock for a few weeks. Our daughter is now 7 months old, exclusively breastfed, and absolutely thriving. In fact, she refuses the bottle at this point, which some people would be bummed about but is such a win for me. I am SO happy that we had this procedure done with TTT and their amazing staff! This is somewhat of a niche operation and I am so grateful that they exist. Thank you Dr. Sacker and everyone at TTT for dedicating so much time and energy to helping families like us!

Soon after she went on medication for reflux our nursing journey really began to improve. Dawnita always had great advice, she dove into the numbers with me and as a type A mom I really appreciated it. She always equipped me with what to say to our pediatrician and together we really helped my baby thrive. I saw Dawnita both at my home and her clinic a few times and both experiences were great her scheduler Shawna was also extremely responsive and helpful. I didn't have great experiences with the LC at the hospital and clinic, I was so nervous meeting Dawnita but she instantly put me at ease and offered great advice. I can't recommend Dawnita enough!

She works with Dawnita and has so much experience and expertise that I have relied on her for questions anytime. And Shawn is so on top of her game that she will work you in to Dawnita's schedule if needed, even though Dawnita is so sought after. I found out we could do a prenatal lactation appointment, which I was excited about because everyone tells you to get a million different things and spend a ton of money on breastfeeding products and you don't know what to actually get. On top of it, you go to the hospital preparing for labor but no one really prepares you for once the baby comes! So I wanted to get some guidance on how to breastfeed in the hospital as well. We read reviews for a bunch of different lactation specialists and I honestly thought that the reviews for Dawnita and Shawn were almost too good to be true. I even asked her if these were incentivized and she said absolutely not. They are just a testament to who she truly is, which is clear once you get to work with her. My experience at the hospital with breastfeeding was not good, which I understand is many Women's experience. I got conflicting messages and no real help. Then i was tossed out on my butt to figure it out alone at home (the nurse legit said she wouldnt answer my question and said I have to figure it out myself because i had signed the discharge paperwork). I left in a complete panic that I would not be able to take care of my baby. I have hyper sensitive nipples so I was in a ton of pain (felt like super fun razorblades). Everyone kept saying it was the baby's latch, etc. No one gave validation to what I was feeling with my sensitivity. I sent a panicked email to Shawn and Dawnita before we even left the hospital (so glad I has established that relationship so I had a lifeline), and they got me in for a virtual appointment that very day we got back from the hospital - on top of it, they even scheduled me for an at home appointment the very next day too so I wouldn't panic. Our virtual appointment got me through that fear day one - my partner was holding an iPad up to my boobs while I tried to nurse my baby (looking back, i can only laugh). Dawnita never made me feel rushed or crazy. Dawnita and Shawn walked us through the next number of weeks and made me feel empowered during every dark moment and brought confidence. When Dawnita walks into your house, she glows. And somehow she always finds a way to make you feel better about yourself - even when you're barefoot in a nightgown with milk stains, unshowered, no makeup, and your hair a mess. But more importantly, I'm now six weeks in and my baby is completely thriving. In fact, she gains more than the expected weight. Dawnita does baby weigh ins (so fun), weighted feeds, answers crazy questions (even if not directly to breastfeeding - like helping with baby's first bath), and guides you through YOUR problems meeting you where you are at! She helped evaluate my sensitive nipples, checked the baby's latch, took away my fears about ties (because everyone raises this), and gave me tools for what I needed - including nipple shields and ways to increase my milk supply without going overboard. She also reassured me and provided solace every time someone else made me fearful. I also love that she's minimal so you don't have to buy a bunch of stuff! While other people are taking supplements and doing lots of things, she doesn't sell you things if you don't need them!! She also doesn't judge if you decide not to breastfeed, which I find to be so important. No more shaming mamas!! Speaking of which, everyone always wanted to tell me that my diet and other things were the cause for any discomfort my baby was going through and Dawnita always made me see that it wasn't the case!! I could go on about Dawnita and Shawn forever, but they changed our journey and I'm so grateful that they helped us through the tough road of breastfeeding. One sidenote. Do not let cost and money stand in your way. Dawnita works through the Lactation Network and they work with your insurance so that you have no co-pay. Plus, she travels anywhere in Orange County to meet you at your house (because who wants to travel after having a baby?!)!! I think people like Dawnita and Shawn who work through the Lactation Network to help moms are angels on this earth.
