I don't even know where to begin with this. I'm a big supporter of small businesses and try to do business with them first. I drove 40 minutes to get to this place. I dropped my lamp off to be repaired and was told it would take "about a week". On the 8th day I hadn't heard anything so I called the store. Mind you when I dropped the lamp off for a simple wiring repair I was told it would be a little over 100 dollars which I thought was a lot of money, but the lamp had sentimental value so I agreed. There were lamps all over the store and I wasn't given a claim ticket or anything, I just walked out of the store thinking it was a small business and they would just remember me and my lamp without a claim ticket. My father owned a small business and he could remember every person he spoke to. After a week, I'd heard nothing so called the store, and I was asked to describe my lamp. I was caught a bit off guard by that but I described it as brass looking because it is. Now obviously there are a lot of brass colored lamps, and one would think an organized business person would assign claim tickets to items in order to keep track of them. The person I spoke to, I assume is the owner seemed to have no idea who I was or which lamp was mine, he put me on hold. He came back and advised that, after a week, my lamp was not done but that if I would call him by the end of the day he would have it done. I had advised I needed to travel for my job and I wanted this off my plate before I left town. I called later that day and was advised the lamp is done. The next morning I woke up an hour early to drive the 40 minutes to get the lamp. When I walked in, the lamp was sitting in the same place I'd left it 9 days earlier. I pointed at the lamp and said "I'm here to pick this up" and the man said "oh that's your lamp? It's not done. That lamp is more gold colored, you said yours was brass". If this man didn't have his head up his you-know-what, he would have a clue how to run a business. If you call their phone number, he doesn't answer with the name of the business, he just says "hello" and you have to ask if you've reached the lamp repair store. When I got there to pick up my unrepaired lamp, I found him out front smoking a cigarette. Classy. I left with my unrepaired lamp and the man could not have cared less that he wasted my time. So if you want to do business with moronic idiot who won't respect you, your business or your time, go for it. read more

I drove with my broken lamp to another repair shop. The door was locked (closed on Monday) along with various taped up signs on the door. Closed St. Patrick's Day. Due to staffing issues, repairs might take as long as 30 days. I was bummed. Looked up another shop. Found The Lamp Repair Store. Drove 7 minutes. Dropped off my lamp. $53.00 and ready in two days! He was pleasant and knowledgeable. THIS is the place to go, plus they have parts and lamps as well. I kid you not, they also have custom made sneakers! read more

My Arco floor lamp was too heavy to move by myself, so a "helpful" neighbor offered to lend a hand, only to end up shattering the arm and ripping the cord in two. During this disaster, a connector piece went missing so I had no hope of joining the pieces of the arm together. After 2 months-worth of frustrating and futile calls to every lamp retailer, I had pretty much given up hope that a replacement for the missing part could be hunted down. No manufacturer was willing to sell just one tiny part, and there was no way to convey exact specifications without being able to move the lamp. When I called Andrew, I thought that I knew what the lamp needed and that our only resort was to use plumbing fixtures. If brought back to life, my lamp would most likely look like Frankenstein with none of the original aesthetic integrity of its "arc." Boy was I wrong. To counter my DIY ideas, Andrew pointed out all these considerations when fixing things that I would never have imagined (such as threading and balance.) When I brought the dissembled parts to Andrew's shop, he worked with amazing speed and focus to brainstorm a solution. It was pure genius how he was able to piece together spare parts to fashion a seamless solution, all the while respecting the aggressiveness of the timeline by which I needed the lamp. Also appreciated his gentleness and care at handling delicate parts prone to scuffing. Miraculously, Andrew made my shattered lamp look better than new. The level of service, craftsmanship, and professionalism here is just first-rate, bar none. I had a small vintage lamp that died after probably having it for 25-30 plus years. I tried replacing the bulb but that didn't solve the problem. I started searching on line and found Andrew at The Lamp Repair Store as well as other sites that showed he had good ratings so I took the lamp there and he diagnosed it and fixed it right away. It was a touch style lamp and he said the touch switch went out on it. I am very happy to have my little lamp back again. I would highly recommend him and if I ever need lamp repair again I won't go anywhere else. I only gave 4 stars because the lamp used to have three way function/settings but now just one setting but still I am happy. read more

I have two beautiful lamps and there are huge. They stopped working. I was willing to invest 150.00 in order to get them fixed. My GRAND total was 53.00 including tax. AND THEY WERE FIXED IN ONE DAY. I am so grateful for not getting ripped off and the wonderful personality of the owner. read more
