I had an afternoon tea, but did not stay in the Langham. Afternoon tea makes it sound like a light snack, but it felt like a large lunchtime meal with the amount of tea and food I got. I chose the traditional afternoon tea. It was actually more affordable than I was expecting. Most of the food and the tea were all amazing. The chocolate cake served last was probably the least impressive part of the afternoon tea. Our waiter seemed nervous. But he went out of his way to offer to pack our leftover food and jam at the end of our meal. Our surroundings were beautiful and the pianist played so many recognizable songs flawlessly. read more

One of my most wonderful hotel experiences of all time!!! What really made this trip special was THE STAFF!!! Such wonderful and friendly staff. And I LOVE how they would make the effort to remember our faces and names. The accommodations were pretty wonderful too! We ADORED the hotel's breakfast. Included with our stay for breakfast was access to the buffet along with an entree off the menu. It was SO much food! The buffet alone was enough for a meal and it had so many options including fresh fruit, pastries, juice, smoothies, meats and cheese, etc. BREAKFAST WAS HEAVEN. I also really enjoyed the gym! Plenty of equipment. Upon arrival, they brought up chocolates and fruits. The chocolates were AMAZING. They also refilled our fruits and water in the room when the room would get cleaned. It was all the little things that made this place very special. We even stopped by the hotel pub (The Wigmore) which was great too and spotted a celebrity (Gerard Butler!) We had afternoon tea here as well and it was such a memorable experience. Truly a wonderful hotel and I'd highly recommend to anyone! For the second part of our honeymoon, my wife and I visited three European cities for the first time: London, Paris, and Amsterdam, with London being our first stop from Miami. We are so fortunate to have spent four nights at The Langham, using it as our base for the trip. This hotel is steeped in history as the first "Grand Hotel" in London and all of Europe, pioneering amenities that were truly groundbreaking for their time. It's also where the tradition of Afternoon Tea was popularized beyond aristocratic circles and introduced to a wider audience. The Langham is also known for their signature scent, almost like a spicy rose, that we are still thinking about to this day. It is the first thing that greets you in the lobby but is not overpowering; you know immediately where you are. The service we received was nothing short of warm and attentive. Our Superior Room was ready upon check-in and very comfortable. We stayed in briefly to recharge from the jet lag and time change before heading down for Afternoon Tea at the Palm Court, which is an experience in itself. A special shout-out to our server, who was extremely generous with scone refills when my wife had to step away briefly after the long journey. Complimentary tea is also served downstairs each morning in a quick grab-and-go fashion, which gave us the daily energy we needed before heading out for a full day of planned activities and sightseeing. Marylebone is ideally situated in the heart of central London, with easy access to hot spots like Mayfair and SoHo. The London Underground is just steps from the hotel, putting most of the city within about 20 minutes' reach. Shopping, dining, and museums are all nearby, and the Hotel Concierge was proactive enough to reach out before our trip to help book activities. One highlight was the swimming pool, located beneath the hotel in what was once an underground bank vault. We didn't make it to the gym, but we did peek inside and it was beautifully appointed. Beautiful hotel in the heart of London. Walking distance to everything, just off of Regent street. From check in I knew this was going to be a great stay. I opted to book a club level room and this was a game changer. They took my friend and I to the lounge to check in with an amazing spread for a snack and drink. The rooms are nicely appointed and we stayed in the wing above the gym, so easy to get in an out of the hotel. The Langham Lounge is a game changer. Breakfast was always amazing, you can order food to order or just munch on the food they have out.. and caviar every morning. The staff at the lounge is amazing, hands down the best service always remembering our drink orders or preferences. Housekeeping was AMAZING as well. I have stayed here several times and I would highly recommend it if you can get the club level and a newer room. I always make sure I have the club level which has beautiful breakfast, snacks, and appetizers in the evening plus cocktails, and drinks throughout the day and night. Nice building, historic, great location, no basic lobby bar (though a pub next door), not a great restaurant scene, expensive executive club priced per person not per room, and overall very pricey. The doormen are awesome. The executive club (aka the Langham Club) staff are outstanding as well. The housekeeping is somewhat intrusive (please don't curl my charging cords or touch my meds) and I'm not all convinced that the "Do Not Disturb" and "Make Up My Room" lights work. The entrance is not very mobility friendly, it's about 10 steps to get to the lobby (not uncommon in London), but with good railings. Generally friendly staff. Small and kinda slow elevators. What's unforgivable at this price point is that they sometimes don't answer the phone when you call either in-room dining or the general service number. Sometimes they do, and they're quite nice when they do. There's no question it's lovely, but with high prices come high expectations. That said, London hotels are so expensive that I keep looking for something better, however, and not finding it. read more

TL;DR: The espresso was found wanting, but the mocha, decor, and overall experience made an indelible mark. Highly recommended. I stumbled upon the famous Langham while desperately hunting for the "strictly required" wardrobe for my brief visit. I had heard so much about this famous place it would have been a crime not to indulge. I had to see if a famed location such as this would take coffee to another level. I was given both room to pause and was blown away. I opted for the espresso and picked up a mocha on the way out. I painfully have to admit the espresso was not the highest quality, a fault I'm attributing to being delayed in its delivery. The mocha however, was mind-blowing, and had the perfect balance of chocolate, velvety milk, and temperature that made me pause with each early sip. It made me wonder what's been missing in every mocha I've had so far. Yes, it was that good. Whatever shortcomings from the espresso were more than made up for with the delicious breakfast and its accompanying breathtaking beverage . This is my favorite place I've ever stayed. Let me sum it up this way: my wife complains about customer service non-stop, is never satisfied. She was nearly brought to tears with how kind, attentive and perceptive the staff are at the Langham in London. She had ZERO complaints. I'm not going to get into every detail but absolutely worth the money (it's not an inexpensive place to stay). If it's a choice between getting a room with club access, I'd say the club access does provide another dimension of comfort and convenience in style, and can enable you to get refreshed and fed easily. There isn't an employee there who I would not hire if the position where right in something I ran. Not one. I have never left a hotel feeling "I'll miss these people and this place" until now, thank you guys, from California with love. read more

Loved this hotel. The staff was wonderful. They were friendly and helpful. The room was large and had a great view. The bed was one of the comfiest I've slept in. I appreciated the welcome amenity they gave us of little mince pies and oranges. We had a buffet breakfast on Christmas morning here. It was what you'd expect for buffet food, but there was a lot of different options. I wish we would have stayed at this hotel a bit longer, but sadly we were only here for a night. The bathroom had a shower and separate tub. The shower had some extreme water pressure, but I'll take that over other hotels where you barely get anything. I hope that I'll be able to come back here sometime in the near future, but after a long flight this place is heavenly to relax. read more

My family and I loved this hotel. It was one of the few hotels in London that could accommodate our family of 5 in one room and the very best hotel to begin our holiday in Europe. The room type we chose, the "family room", worked well for our family and was super comfortable after returning from a full day of sightseeing. was spacious and well appointed. The front desk staff, the bellhops and everyone else we ran into was exceedingly helpful. The common areas are comfortable and the lobby water closet allowed for a quick return and potty break with our tired kids. We didn't have time to make use of the restaurants, spa, gym, or pool. The pool space is beautiful, but there are specific hours for kids that we could never seem to fit into our busy days. Highly recommend. read more

Have stayed at The Langham London before and have always appreciated the elegance and location of the hotel. This time around we stayed in room 082 which is in the adjacent building (near to where the spa is) that you have to traverse through by walking a series of long hallways, multiple elevators and a plethora of fire doors that are reminiscent of the old GET SMART tv show opening where you follow the titular character Maxwell Smart through a myriad of doors. The problem with the wing of the hotel where we were staying -- rooms 081-084 was the fact that there was a fetid smell in the hallway. It was truly unbearable and something that seemed to be the result of potential water damage to the carpets that had begun to mold underneath. Whatever the cause, it smelled truly awful. My wife and I would try and hold our breath and make a dash from the stairwell to the inside of our room whenever we were navigating our floor. The room itself was lovely. And I've always been a fan of the hotel. But they have a real issue with this wing of the hotel. The smell of the hallway is god awful and hopefully it isn't as toxic as it smells. We informed Nick at the front desk of the smell. Hopefully they find a way to rectify it. read more

During our visit to London, my girlfriend and I stayed at two hotels. The other is the Goring Hotel. Both are high-end 5 star hotels, but they could not be more different from each other. Location: The Langham London is a modern stylish luxurious hotel. The location is excellent for (high-end) shopping as it is on Regent Street. It is only two blocks away from Oxford Circus and also within walking distance from Piccadilly Circus. Amenities: This is a large hotel with a lots of amenities, a spa, a couple of restaurants and bars. There's even a beautiful swimming pool in the spa area. The clientele is mixed (business people, tourists, etc). So, although people here are overall well dressed, there are some tourists who are not. Their main restaurant is particularly stylish and beautiful. I don't think they have a strict dress code, but I think you would feel out of place if you wore shorts. Service: The staff here are professional and polite, but I found their service to be a bit too impersonal and not very friendly (except for the doormen and 3 Italian front desk clerks). They pretty much leave you alone during your stay unless you initiate a conversation. They do treat you with high respect and make your stay as comfortable as possible. For example, because of our flight, we checked in early. We were offered to use the spa to freshen up until our room was ready, which was very nice. Booking: We booked our room through American express, which came with room upgrade, late check-out (4pm), and a hotel voucher, which we used for food and drinks at a pub (The Wigmore). Transportation: They can arrange airport transfer from Heathrow to the hotel. We decided to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station (15 minutes) and then took a cab to the hotel (15 minutes). It was extremely easy, quick (45 minutes), and save us a lots of money. If I could give more stars, I would! We have been to London a few times but this is our first time staying at the Langham and I doubt we will stay anywhere else after this trip. The staff is beyond accommodating. We arrived very early from an international red eye and since our room wasn't ready yet (which we knew would be the case), they offered to let us use their spa facilities to shower/change/etc. When we did get our room, it was beautiful and very comfortable. The bed and pillows are awesome! Plenty of dining/bar options here, a very quick walk to the main part of Regent St and is in a very clean/safe part of the city. We will be sad to leave but can't wait to come back! read more

I came here the other afternoon for afternoon tea and had a wonderful experience!!! The staff is extremely attentive and considerate of any allergies and the venue is exquisite! They were very considerate of my husband's allergy and made him special sandwiches that did not contain any allergens. The ambiance is elegant but relaxed and the pianist plays beautiful music as you enjoy your afternoon tea. One of the things that was so charming about Palm Court is that they are so child friendly. Every child here had a huge smile on their faces. They give them hats, a special menu, and a stuffed animal! It was so precious to see. The tea selection is fantastic and our server was very good at helping us find teas that we would enjoy. The finger sandwiches consisted of: English cucumber with cream cheese and chives; egg, artichoke, and truffle; crab salad and avocado in a brioche roll; mozzarella, tomato chutney in basil bread; and confit chicken coronation and sweetcorn. The sandwiches were delicious and fresh! They also walk around with more of them if you desire more! We opted for the extra course and I got summer pea hummus with za'tar breads and this was delicious! The hummus was smooth and fresh. Their scones were amazing!!! So fresh and exactly how a proper English scone should be. These paired perfectly with the clotted cream and strawberry preserve. We also had a selection of wonderful pastries: strawberries, citrus and cream rolled in sponge; a cherry and tonka compote with a choux bun topped with mousseline and marscarpone cream; a slice of chocolate ganache; peach melo with a verbena meringue; and a Muscovado and citrus sponge steeped in honey. The desserts were absolutely exquisite. I have never had anything like them. They were each so complex and flavorful. This was an absolutely amazing experience and I will definitely be back! We love The Langham hotel group, and this location in London is no different! We've stayed at The Langham before (in Chicago) and had an amazing time. Our experience here has been the same. We booked through the Amex Platinum Fine Hotels & Resorts site, which comes with a complimentary room upgrade, breakfast for 2 daily, late check out, early check in, and a $100 property credit. Our room is so incredibly comfortable. The food at the Palm Court is wonderful. But most importantly, the service is AMAZING -- everyone here is so kind, welcoming, and warm. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home as well (i.e. welcome amenities, lovely turndown service, and the ability to make nearly any request happen, including when my SO craved popcorn at 1 AM...). Wow wow wow. This place exceeded expectations. I stayed here with my family last week, and I would definitely go back. The rooms are recently renovated, and the entire hotel is BEAUTIFUL. The inside is very classy and elegant. The hotel is clean, and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. We ate at one of the restaurants one night and the waiter brought us over complimentary dessert. All the bars and restaurants are delicious, and I especially recommend the Wigmore for a classy pub experience. We arrived early so the front desk let us check in early, AND they let us check out late because we had an evening flight. The hotel is about a 5 min walk from the Oxford Circus tube stop, so it's easy to get to. The neighborhood is nice as well: there's lots of good shopping around, and it's a little isolated from the touristy sites so it's very quiet. I would 10/10 recommend the Langham London, and I want to try all of their hotels now!! read more

From 2 rounds of complimentary champagne to surprise chocolate giveaways to carefully-decorated crackers - The Langham thought of it all. And fantastic collaboration with Liberty. The decor was unique and fashionable, but still festive and not just focused on Christmas (much appreciated from a Hanukkah-celebrator). ----------------------- I had tea yesterday and I'm STILL full. We came here on a Sunday, which brought moderate crowds but thankfully the tea room remained fairly quiet for easy conversation. The crowd was a mix of tourists and locals celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, etc. You can make a reservation ahead, so no need to worry about timing. We chose the high tea with champagne, which can come with either 2 or 3 courses. Spring for 3 if you're starving, otherwise 2 is enough. The 3 course came with a selection of finger sandwiches, which were all lovely but I liked the cured meat + chocolate bread the best. The second dish was a selection of mains, where we chose the crab quiche and the pea hummus. Didn't love the hummus (like everything in London, it needed salt), however the quiche was good. The last course is made of several cakes and des, as well as scones with various jams and clotted cream. There was an amazing chocolate & salted caramel pudding that I couldn't get enough of, and the strawberry jam was addicting. You can purchase the jams afterwards if you'd like them! I would also suggest coming here if you have children who aren't too rambunctious. They have an excellent pianist who low-key plays Disney songs the whole time and they do a dessert plate that lets children decorate their own biscuit. Very cute and insta-worthy. Lastly, I would recommend coming for the festive set menu or Christmas set menu for a little something extra this holiday season. read more

What . .no 10 stars? OMHeavens! Sweet Baby James! Without a doubt, the best hotel we have enjoyed! EVER. Again, our Tauck tour offered a choice of 3 hotels for the end point. My world traveling husband researched all & chose the Langham. The poshest, plushest hotel in my life . . .I'm 70 & have traveled extensively. All the personnel were helpful which they should be in any hotel, right? Well, a lovely lady is always posted in the lobby to assist anyone with anything. She took me directly to the area I requested. As we left the lobby, I realized there was a back up person who stepped in while my 'lady' guided me to the business area for computer use. Clever. The beds are wonderful. Of the pillows, something perfect for every neck/head on this earth. The housekeeping woman was understanding we really did not want the duvet & from the first morning we never saw it again. Hallways were quiet. Our doors were thick wooden doors which most likely aided the quiet. We never heard chatting in the halls as is usually the case. Our window was on an inside courtyard. A quiet room. While they have one electrical outlet for US plugs, it's located at the desk. Having a CPAP machine, we needed one closer to the bed. When I enquired about an adaptor from the hotel it took less than 5 minutes for a bellman to appear at our door with not one but two adapters! Service is their motto, I'm thinking. The bathroom was a marble marvel! The towels are heated and exceptionally large, plush & optic white. Built in shelves were conveniently located for all my goodies. Weirdly, their hair dryer plug could NOT be used in the bathroom, not a concern to me, but it seemed strange. Great hair dryer, tho. Using their shower gel, shampoo, etc. was perfect. I'm picky about shampoo & theirs was exceptional for hotel shampoo. A swiveling double mirror with magnification on 1 side was my savior. But the piece d'resistance was the main mirror. Even in the steamy bathroom the center of this huge mirror remains clear! Since the countertop was deep, I doubt whether my reach would have been effective. Most happenin' place was the Artesian Bar! Apparently, a very popular hot spot we swiftly discovered. Holy Mackerel, you are even seated by a hostess in a bright, open, large-windowed room. The actual bar is big, long, modern and beautiful. We had a small table for 2 until we saw someone from our Tauck group who were seated at a like table next to us. The server immediately realized we knew the other couple and pulled the tiny round tables closer. Apparently, over the course of our 3 day visit the hotel was having a serious promotional video in the throes of production. Pink, is the Langham's signature color, so main rooms were touched with this color in large and small doses. Honestly, this was enchanting & exciting and not at all encroaching on our visit. Breakfast in Roux were great with excellent coffee, btw. We enjoyed one dinner in the hotel main dining aka the famous Palm Court. Beautiful room was superb as was the service for said dinner. Our last evening was spent in private dining with our Tauck groups farewell dinner. Again, we had choice of several main course option. Main course service for the table was unique. A table for 8, 1/2 of us were served simultaneously by 4 servers strategically placed every other person. Moments later . .not minutes later . .the remaining were served in like fashion. And everyone received the correct dish. . . of course, right? Its not practical for me to list the high end hotels I've/we've been fortunate to visit. The Langham Hotel is at the pinnacle. I contacted The Langham to book my son into The Cooking School. I emailed in to book, no response. The price jumped from £115 to £125, so I asked in an email, again no response. Anyway a few emails later to Lauren and still no response so I escalated to her manager. Despite the complaint being about Lauren her manager referred it back to Lauren and she finally responded, though disregarded much of what was in the email. She then offered my son a place in January. It got to the point the customer service was so poor that I decided against booking him in. Ive heard every excuse, holiday, sickness, not receiving emails, leave etc and when I finally did get a response it didnt answer anything from my email. The Langham should be providing the best service. I also mentioned booking in to stay when booking the cooking class but again no interest. I did mention I would be be posting a review and contacting the hotel manager but both Lauren and her manager didnt seem to care. My first experience with The Langham was a couple of years ago in Palm Court when I took my son for afternoon tea and the waiter got angry with another member of staff and started shouting and swearing in front of my son and slamming things. The manager did come over and apologise and didnt review at the time as thought it was a one off, but what with this recent experience perhaps it is an issue with customer service. read more

The service and standards of the hotel and staff is worth so much more than just 5 stars. The rooms are pristine and comfortable. If you have any questions, concerns or request, you'll get the impression that no request is too much trouble and the staff here will go out of their way to assist you. This beautiful elegant hotel has a children's tea. I loved the live piano music. The kids loved the adorable food and their new hamleys bear present from the hotel. Yes, I just called food "adorable". It was. The kids tea sandwiches were cut into a jigsaw puzzle with 4 different types of sandwiches pieced together. I will post a picture of the kids desserts which were almost too cute to eat. I had to coax them to eat the piggy. They also enjoyed a fruit tea and hot chocolate and a mini lemonade. The 150th anniversary tea that I drank was special (with 150 ingredients!) The service was over the top great. I felt like a queen for a day (or, really, a queen for a few hours). After more than a few visits to the fabulous Artesian Bar, I finally decided to try The Langham out for my latest stay in London. I would recommend The Langham for first time visitors to London as it's location caterers perfectly to those who want to see all the popular sites and be in the middle of it all. The hotel itself is beautiful and the service was great. Despite all this-it just wasn't the hotel for me. Everything felt a bit too impersonal and the hotel was bigger than some I'm used to staying in, which may have contributed to this feeling. I also stayed in the Regent Wing which is about a mile away from the main hotel area. I would recommend asking for a room in the main wing to avoiding navigating a series of staircases, hallways, and lifts to get to your room. In short-don't let this review deter you at all from booking The Langham. It's a lovely hotel but just not really my thing. I prefer to stay at smaller hotels deeper into Mayfair, but that's just me! read more

Spectacular. Superb. Beautiful. 5-Star Experience! Architecture: The outside of the building has true English charm, the inside is smart, clean and modern. Meeting Rooms: Top of the line AV and all rooms have windows with natural sunlight. Staff: Professional,educated and extremely well-mannered. Deluxe Room: I had beautiful views and the bathroom was pretty fabulous. Gym: Clean, high-tech machines nothing like I'd seen before, huge flat screen, and much more. Afternoon Tea: A divine English experience. (See pictures) Price: Not cheap! The pool was closed, but they are currently remodeling part of the hotel and creating a new spa and gym. Per the inconvenience of the pool being closed they offered to show me to another nearby pool if I felt the need to swim. I stayed at the Langham for business in February, and Isabella our Sales Manager helped make my experience a pleasant one. She was so polite and very knowledgeable, I hope to work with her again one day. The Langham London is the mother-ship to all Langhams across the world. RE:LANGHAM HOTEL, LONDON OK: So you pay $500+ per night and expect reasonable service. Wrong, at the Langham. Tried to reserve a scooter; done it dozens of times , no problem. However, in London they want copies of your passport, credit card, letter from your mother and dog, Pure harassment. But! I have a coincierge to overcome idiots, right? No, concierge complains to me about my inability to book thgis huge engagement and is annoyed atr my lack of compliance. OK: End of Langham. I cancelled my resewrvation and am booked at, I hope, a hotel whose concierge knows who is to be served.PS: Other concierges just made the booking. read more

My favorite place of the hotels I've stayed in while in London. 4.75 stars Highlights: - Upscale English spot: nice decor and luxurious feel but not gaudy or pretentious. Their soft pink brand color is comforting. - Rooms: good amount of space and big comfortable beds - Daily treats: a small bottle of water on the nightstand and chocolate on my bed are a welcome addition - Celebrities: heard Lady Gaga stayed here last time I visited - Bar and restaurants: nice to know quality places are just on the lobby floor - Pool and spa: I haven't used it but cool to have - Staff: pleasant and professional at check in and out - Location: just off Regent and a few blocks away from Oxford station in the heart of everything (and more importantly close to my office) Midlights: - Not part of a major chain to gain points I can easily use, but they do have a loyalty program and a few hotels around the world. Lowlights: - Depending on the time, it can be super spendy. - Stairs up front can be challenging with bags I've been in town often over the last few years for business in different hotels and this is my first choice of where I choose to stay. read more
