Laughing Tap stage

Had such a good time at the Laughing Tap seeing Eddie Pepitone. It was our first time there and it wasn't very crowded. It's a smallish comedy club in Walkers Point, right next door to Fuel Cafe. Seems like it's a bit of a hole in the wall place and still kind of new to town? Although several of their shows sell out so maybe I'm just late to the party. I highly recommend checking it out and supporting local comedy! The staff and bartenders were so friendly and willing to help decide what to drink while we watched the show. It's also affordable for a fun night out and they get some pretty big names in comedy! Can't wait to come back for another show soon.

I've been at this location in previous incarnations, but this is the best use of the space yet. I came here to see Atheer Yacoub and Hari Kondabolu, two of the best stand up comics in the business. Perfect small venue, sells out easily because prices are moderate for tickets and drinks (for a club). It's great to be close enough to the stage that the comedians can and do read the whole audience. Walking distance from some good restaurants, Zocalo in particular is one block. Even the MC was funny. I sometimes bring a rubber chicken with me to class when I lecture on humor as a form of social interaction and I ask, "Is this still funny?" The short answer is, no. So I appreciate the rubber chicken décor theme here, they even have a cocktail named "the rubber chicken" which I'll be sure to try next time.

Date of visit: Saturday, February 10…read more This experience was a gift from a friend that had always wanted to do a murder mystery dinner/party. I too, have always been interested in this concept though the results were a mixed bag. Check in was a bit of a cluster as there were two tables next to each other, but no signs and that resulted in people shuffling back and forth because there was nothing to guide us. Once we got in the right line, we were asked to come up with a name for ourselves for the evening. Wish we had known this in advance so we could have been more creative. We then were checked in and given tickets for our food choices. There was a color-coding system that almost everyone forgot as soon as they found their table and wish they would have just labeled the damn things, "pork," or "chicken." Speaking of pork, the food overall was just okay. My apple pork was pretty good but I didn't care for the green beans. The salad was pretty good, as were the rolls. The cheesecake dessert was pretty pedestrian, likely Sara Lee or the like. After you were seated, the "host," Sue came in to lay the ground rules. I think much of my dissatisfaction stemmed from her and the two police office actors who were just a bit over the top for my tastes. Sue did not have the qualities of a good host, in my opinion. She was efficient and knew her stuff, but wasn't charming or gracious. I found her a bit grating, unfortunately. I am sure she's a lovely person she just didn't set the scene for me. I also didn't like the "interactive" portions of the event where we were encouraged to mingle with the other participants to see who was "suspicious." For those more introverted folks, this was not great. Given all that, kudos to the rest of the acting staff for injecting some fun and mystery to this event!

My guy and I traveled from Chicago to Milwaukee on the coldest day of the weekend to see Bruce Bruce perform. Unfortunately, we arrived after the doors were locked due to taping. Normally, late entry isn't allowed, but he was incredibly understanding and accommodating. He made sure we were seated and even sent us a complimentary drink when he could see we were disappointed. Our lateness wasn't his fault at all, yet he still went above and beyond to make things right. That level of customer service did not go unnoticed, and for that reason alone, I'll definitely be back. The self serve menu with the QR code on the table was very helpful and easy to navigate. The servers were Swift and friendly. I enjoyed all of the items except the temporary shrimp. They were very tiny and heavily breaded, even though it said lightly battered. I enjoyed all of the sauces and dips for the chicken and waffles, which were very lovely and fluffy fresh. The mustard dip for the pretzel was my favorite as the imitation nacho Cheese Just tasted out of a can. All in all it was a great experience and the food was very good. Highly recommend for a relaxing and truthful night. There's even a game you can play at your table on your phone to spin the wheel and when prizes! Bonus.
