Haven't been here in awhile. It's a great venue! Good sound, and sight lines from the seats in the balcony are great. The Violent Femmes delivered, by the way!

We have really liked seeing shows here over the years. It's got a great vibe - great decor, slim seats and old carpeting. Lots of nostalgia. We have been seeing the Harry Potter movies played along to by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. The prices have gone up over the years. $14 for a Butterbeer in the plastic mug. Combo for $20. The staff was friendly and very quick to help us find our seats. Security was quick and efficient. Parking can be tricky and expensive but you can usually park a few blocks away and walk if needed.

I seen a show here many years ago, before Yelp existed. Seen Carrot Top and it was awesome (he is way funnier than you'd think in person). Flashback to today's day and age and I'm heading to a hair band show, courtesy of my children and Christmas. I would liken this to the Pabst Theatre, but not as fancy dancy. The theatre has the ornate plaster and is a piece of Milwaukee history. The staff were very friendly and helpful in seating. The sound was very good and the acoustics are great for an old palace. Check it out and fear not to see a show there. You will see history and have a great time all in one.

The Riverside Theater is a historic and absolutely gorgeous theater beautifully located right in the midst of downtown Milwaukee. Came here recently to see the comedy of Taylor Tomlinson. I think I've been to this theater only one time previously and was once again wowed by this stunner of a theater. So many gorgeously ornate details. The chandelier over the audience was my favorite feature. The theater itself isn't huge, so there's not a really bad seat in the house. I've sat on the floor (wonderful) and up in the nose bleeds (not bad). They have a bar on the main floor, which gets busy prior to the show with everyone getting their beverages. Pro tip: They also have a bar in the basement level which doesn't get busy. We were able to walk right up and order, no lines at all. The seats in the upper section are a bit tight but weren't uncomfortable for us. I would absolutely come here for any show. We had such a fun time in this gorgeous space. Get to it!

Went here in 7/22/23 @6:30pm to see Kansas 50th. Never been to the Riverside Theater. My friend and I had a great time. Loved the theater. Very nice in the inside. Laid out nicely and a touch of class! I would easily consider coming back to see a show at this place again. There is plenty of parking close by. I was a block and a half away, cost 8 bucks to park. Really enjoyed seeing Kansas. Until The next review Tell Steve-O out

Beautiful, old theater in a nice area of Milwaukee. We walked from the Hampton Inn and had dinner right around the corner at Mo's Irish Pub. The tickets we purchased were low cost but we could still see the show. I would definitely go see anofher show here. The parking was convenient, the service inside was good. There are a few restaurants very near.

We watched Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo's outstanding concert last night in this beautiful theater. The acoustics were fantastic and we were third row in left center on the first level. Staff were friendly. The theater is very beautiful. It was an easy Amtrak train ride from Chicago to the Milwaukee Intermodal station which is within short walking distance.

    Gorgeous interior. Really old skool!

It's classic 1940's-something, lovely great views from most seats, friendly matra'ds. Drinks are on point. Check it out!

Ask the Community - Riverside Theater

If I am attending a "general admission" concert, is it just first come first served for seating or do the seats come out and its a standing room floor?? I've only been here once, and it was for A Night With John Cusack, so it was a seated event.

I believe on the general admission, it is first come first served. There is not any floor space for standing room. It is set up much like a movie theater.

Furtive Fish fry Bit salty, and breading completely detached from the fish. But still a good crunch and the fish was very well seasoned. Broccolini salad good, nice complement to the fish fry SpyPA Told this was an IPA from Lakefront, but didn't really have the kick of an IPA. Would not get it again. So food, pretty safe. Staff was not prepared at all, actually telling people the guy who usually does speech did not come and they do not know what to say actually. For any alcohol you will buy you will pay in addition which is fine BUT the price for that drink(s) will be surprising you a lot. For 5 sake drinks the bill was around $370. Last two glasses were having less sake than first glasses we were provided, probably because people who already drunk something would not notice the difference. It's ok to have expensive alcohol pairing with high end dinner but in this case the sake was very regular. By the way, at bar 10 steps away from the Dark room (same hotel, same floor, same the floor area) the same sake did cost $23 for two glasses. Well... I understand people try to run business and earn money but everything should not cross some decency borders. These guys did cross the line in my opinion. Alcohol prices are not mentioned in Menu by the way. I do not recommend this place not only due to drinks pricing policy but due to "ok" food/service/price ratio

For obvious reasons, it's a Milwaukee staple. Yes, be prepared to smell like smoke when you leave here, because it is true to the name: a cigar bar. They're sold and smoked inside, and it's clear they have a following for just that. But there's more to this place, for the non-smokers like myself. A full bar of cocktails, brews, and wines. A large menu, which seemed to me like it had a lot of New Orleans style options, plus exotic seafood and game dishes. There are multiple stories of the building, each funky and dressed up in their own way. You'll find live music, ghost tours (it's haunted), decor from decades past, and even a rooftop looking over the city. I've yet to eat here but on a recent visit came for the infamous tour. Our guide was so great and led us from detailing the notable exterior parts of the building, through the basement, and each floor up from there. You'll have to visit yourself to uncover all of the stories and haunted history. Our group also grabbed drinks from the bar (which you can bring with you on tour). I had the gin martini - my favorite cocktail of all time - but asked the bartender to put it over ice, make it dirty, and add a twist. She returned with it made to perfection. Others has old fashioneds and wine, and it all went down a treat. It's probably not for everyone, but if you're looking for an ~experience~ then Shaker's is certainly worth a visit.
