This is the biggest washer there. It washed our two loads combined, and they fit very nicely.

Very small laundromat, but very clean and efficient machines. If you go during a weekday or evening, it's probably less crowded than on the weekends. There were only a couple of people there when we went, but it was hard to maneuver the carts past people that were folding their clothes because of the small space. Everyone was very courteous, and stepped out of the way if someone needed to get by. I figure if it IS a little crowded, I could just sit in my car while the clothes wash and dry. Other than the space issue, I LOVED how clean my clothes were, and how clean the place is. I'm definitely making this my new laundry spot!

Started going…read moreto Spincycle in El Cerrito Plaza - they are always ridiculously busy and the floor is always dirty. Today while waiting at Spincycle for one of the 3 larger machines, I just decided to get back in my car and drove to TubTown. I was actually pretty excited because I'd read the reviews prior to coming today. When I first pulled up, there was constant shouting. I got out of my car - it's coming from some Evangelical preacher or something across the street who has a bullhorn. Annoying af and it's been going on now for like an hour. But not the laundromat's fault. Now for my actual laundromat experience: There were about ten people here on a Wednesday around noon - not crazy busy and there an ample amount of machines available. Machines smelled clean and the floor is a little run down but not in a way that makes you feel gross. The worker here mopped the floor while I was there, which I appreciate. Average laundry prices - a bit pricey but it's worth it for the machine availability. Spincycle machine for $11 can accommodate more than the $11 machine here (warm water), but you always have to wait for that big one at spin cycle. It was my first time here and getting my wash started was a bit frustrating. I asked the worker and he told me I could buy a card for $2.50 and load it or download the app for now fee. I downloaded the app and spent way too long trying to unsuccessfully connect it. I finally asked the worker for assistance and he tried multiple times but couldn't get it to work either and said maybe it's my phone. I've never had issues with my phone before but what could I really do at this point other than buy a card? So I bought a card - $2.50 for the card plus a THREE DOLLAR FEE to load the card using your credit card!!! I opted for the $100 loading option in order to get a $20 bonus, so after paying the $105.50, I had a balance of $117 to use on my card. I can't believe every time I reload by card it will be an extra $3 fee! Once I finally started my wash with the card, I was wondering when I would be told to "add bleach" as the machine indicates you should add it when it displays. I asked the worker how long into the cycle it normally takes before you are instructed to add the bleach. He seemed like he was a little annoyed but trying hard to hide it and be nice - which I personally think is still good customer service lol because you can't really help feeling annoyed but you're making an effort to hide it. Anyway, he was like "you can add the bleach before you start the machine" and I was like "well why does it say wait to add the bleach until it displays"? Anyway, we walked back over to the machine I was using and the machine was now displaying the message "add bleach" - about 3 minutes into the wash cycle, if anyone is wondering. 4 stars for facilities/machines/cleanliness. 1 star for app not working and laundry card fees - & that's a pretty big deal for me. So I'll give an avg based on that, but it would be more a 3.75 for me

Parked in front since I was unaware of rear parking. Arrived and only 1 other person washing. Noticed I had to download an app (another one to add to the list) and it was a breeze. I did observed an attendant who was busy with the shop vac cleaning out the dryer vents as well as doing loads of laundry. The area is maintained cleaned and no machines out of order. I did run into an issue and approached the lady who I observed cleaning. Catherine when asked her name reset the dryer since it went crazy after trying to add more time. She reset it and asked me how everything was going. Guess it was obvious it was my first time. Lol Highly recommend and great place.

    ## Review: The Laundry Room (Berkeley & Oakland, San Pablo)…read more I've been to both Laundry Room locations--Berkeley and Oakland--and funny enough, they're both on San Pablo. I actually ended up at the Oakland one by accident (directionally challenged over here!), but I'm glad I did because both spots are equally impressive. Over the past year, I've dealt with housing instability, which means I've spent a lot of time in laundromats across the Bay Area. For me, keeping my clothes clean is a way of maintaining dignity and stability when life feels chaotic. Right now, I'm staying with friends and doing laundry for their whole household every week, so I've become something of a laundromat connoisseur. And let me tell you--The Laundry Room chain is hands-down the nicest laundromat experience I've had anywhere. ### What Makes Them Stand Out - **Top-notch machines**: All brand new, spotless, and seemingly sterilized daily. - **Attendant always on-site**: Unlike most laundromats where you have to call a number and wait for help, here there's always someone present, constantly cleaning and keeping everything in order. - **Cleanliness**: No moldy, grimy machines like you find elsewhere. Everything is sparkling. - **Amenities**: Bathrooms for customers (rare in laundromats!), free Wi-Fi, flatscreen TVs with live sports, and even free coffee. - **Atmosphere**: Chill enough that I once brought in some fried chicken from down the block, and no one batted an eye. ### Practical Perks - **Parking lot in the back**: Huge plus in the Bay Area. - **Machine sizes**: No super-small washers here--the smallest is a medium, starting at $5. Perfect for big loads. - **Neighborhood extras**: Right on the block you'll find two fantastic Mexican supermarkets and a fantastic Arab market (house made baklava!) all of which accept EBT. ### Final Thoughts After visiting laundromats all over the Bay, The Laundry Room has become my go-to spot. Between the cleanliness, amenities, and friendly staff, it's a five-star experience every time. Whether you're in Berkeley or Oakland, you'll feel comfortable doing laundry here--and maybe even enjoy it.

First off, I've been here three times. Its the closest laundromat to my house and I rarely see anybody here. Those are the only positive things about this place. Plenty of parking. I have never seen an attendant. I doubt this place has anyone running it. 2 out of 3 times, the trash was overfilled and I had to step outside once I started my laundry because the smell was so disgusting. Why are the benches so close to the trash?? There was trash on the floor and what smelt like rotting food in the trash. The walls aren't even done being painted and I have to be careful so I don't step on trash. The machines are trash. Every time, at least three of the dryers I use dont work, but I don't know until I check my laundry. And a good amount of the dryers already have out of order signs on them, so I can hardly say the dryers work. They're heating also ranges from lukewarm to scolding hot. Also, all the machines are so expensive! The smallest load to wash is over 5 dollars. I think the high prices is the only way I can imagine this place staying afloat. They offer cards where you can add money to use (rather then quarters, which can be convenient) buy you get taxed by add money to the cards and when you buy one. You can only skip a fee when you add money directly at a washer or dryer. Anyways, if you're not desperate, literally anywhere else will worth it. There's some businesses where people shoild be ashamed to be business owners and managers, and this is one of them.

I thought the washers were a bit on the pricy side, but found out later their prices are competitive with similar facilities. $7 for the large washer and a quarter for every 7 minutes of dryer use. Parking was relatively easy but it really is depending on the time of day you're coming. They have a vending machine where you can get detergent and all sorts of that stuff and they also sell bags in that vending machine that you can put your clothes into. I found that helpful but just keep in mind it's a dollar per each item and that adds up quickly depending on how many loads you're doing. Highly recommend to bring your own detergent. The machines take debit and credit cards and also coins. Washing and drying time are comparable and I love how hot the dryers get. You can add time onto your current drying time which is nice as well. They do have option to have someone clean your clothes for you but that doesn't appear to be an option on the weekend so just keep that in mind. There is Wi-Fi available in some tables available for folks to sit at to fold or just to do work from. The only downside I would say about this place that there's really no places to eat relatively nearby. You'll have to walk or drive and if you've already taken the time to get a nice parking spot , you may not want to move. You can always get the food delivered but just one thing to note if you're like me and we're trying to do laundry and get food while you wait. The facility is nice and well-maintained and everyone pretty much keeps to themselves while they do their laundry which is also nice. Not sure if there's a high time for people to come here but typically on the weekend around early evening was pretty slow. Did start to pick up closer to 8 PM but they're always seem to be a machine available. Something to know is that they don't have a lot of industrial size washers and dryers. I want to say they probably have 2-4 industrial washers and same with the dryers. They may have more of the dryers that are larger than washers but just something to keep in mind because the washers to come in a variety of sizes and the industrial size ones are always the first to be used.
