I'm super sad I don't live in Albany anymore, because this place is truly amazing. (Yes, I've written another review about another laundry place...but this one tops that one by at least 100%). About every other week I would drop off my laundry with the AWESOME, super nice and friendly owner and pick it up again either later in the day, or early the next day. Everything was washed and folded (even ironed/pressed!) and perfect! ($1/lb) All my black jackets, he took extra care to wash inside out and folded them (pea coats, and such) with precision and so nothing was EVER wrinkly. He packages the socks into a seperate bag so you don't lose them, and any extra sock he will also put to the side! He's very honest and super nice. I had once left around 15 dollars (total) between 3 or 4 jeans and he collected all of it (me being absentminded and all, I never ever checked before sending him my clothes), then stapled them all together onto my receipt (along with a button I'd lost)! Although this has happened on occasion at least three or four times (not the money portion, but things in pockets, etc.) Super honest, Super friendly! Very great service. He always has great stories and every time he talks about his wife his eyes light up with joy. It's seriously the greatest thing to see how dedicated people are to others. I do my underwears/bras there at the Laundromat (always found it awkward to have someone do that for you). Super cheap wash (and you can load the big loads) and the dryers are the types that will dry very very well (industrial size) for a lot less than you'd expect! :) If you are in the Albany area, this place is deft one of the best places to either do your laundry, or have your laundry done. read more

I was nervous to go to a laundromat (I'm a laundromat noob and have heard sketchy people are often lurking there)... but this has been a great place to do my laundry. They are clean and my laundry comes out fresh (not stinking like smoke like some other laudromats are prone to). They have free wifi and table space so I can study while my clothes are being cleaned. There are always plenty of available machines. Gordo's is right across the street. More than I had expected from a laundromat. I haven't done the wash and fold option, but it looks like the price is comparable to doing it yourself if you really value your time. The husband and wife that run this laundromat are super nice. They're also very friendly and helpful. On a few occasions they have helped me carry my laundry loads out to the front of the store to load up into my car. The laundromat itself is located in a great spot on Solano: load up the machines, run to the bank or grocery store, come back and load up the clothes in the dryer, and go grab a coffee. Because of this, sometimes the place can get crowded on a weekend afternoon. Weekday mornings are the best for this wonderful little place. read more

I'm not sure why this place gets such glowing reviews - it's a perfectly serviceable laundromat, mind, but I wasn't blown away! Then again, I'm really happy to do laundry since my washing machine exploded a few days ago. There's seating, sure, but it's all weirdly clustered in one corner save one chair so if a stranger is sitting in the corner already you're totally up in each other's business. Unbelievably, even though I am even at this moment doing laundry at 7 in the morning on a Sunday, all 14 dryers are taken up by two other patrons and some dryers only have one bath towel in them. That's ridiculous! How self-entitled do you have to be when you see four other people in the laundromat to do that? I'm cranky about it but that's not the fault of the business. People are just rude. Despite the Towel Ladies, I might have bumped up to 4 stars if the owners hadn't fallen prey to Daylight Savings. I showed up at 6:30 in the morning to a locked laundromat! read more

This is my favorite of all the local laundrymats out there. Hands down. First off, everything is well maintained. Very very very rarely is a machine down. I've never had a machine eat my money, or malfunction. They all do beautiful jobs washing and drying. As far as laundrymats go, this place has a nice atmosphere. It's very well lit,very clean, feels incredibly safe, and doesn't have any bizarre clientele. It;s location is also prime. Dead center between a Safeway, CVS, and a ton of restaurants. It's super easy to take care of all your shopping and meal needs while your clothes spin and fluff. This place can be very very busy, so be prepared for that. Even so, it's never that long a wait. This was a pretty cool laundromat. The price for washing was fine. The price for drying seems a little steep. Maybe electricity is expensive in Berzerkly. There were three broken machines when I used it. Broken machines give the place a bad vibe. But I liked the place and I would use it again. read more

New ownership by Lolo & Lola Kowalski has greatly improved this little laundromat. They installed security cameras snack machines and most important have fixed the washing and drying machines. They also provide laundering services at 99 cents/pound. There is often a staff person on-site which helps keep people who shouldn't be there out. I like going here to do my laundry because it is always clean and the machines are in good working condition. There is also many places to go eat or shop while your laundry is washing or drying. read more

I can't say enough about how good my experience was here! Lolo and Lola's is soooo clean and well cared-for. A man comes in for 2 hours a day to clean up and take care of the machines. My friend and I were there when he was around, and he was eager to help us find things and explain which washers were better to use. They have lots of top-loaders, plus a couple front-loaders for lower agitation, plus two HUGE front-loaders for 3x the regular load (not quite 3x the cost, so it's a better deal). The dryers were so effective, I accidentally paid for too much time because my clothes were already dry after only 30 minutes! Safe location, change machines, snack machine, television, several chairs/stools and tables if you bring other stuff to do. I honestly can't think of anything I could improve about this laundromat. read more

The owners are an older couple that always breezes in and out with a smile, greeting, and giving laundry tips (whether you want them or not). It's clean, they've added personal touches. The wifi is, um touchy, but ask them and they'll reboot it. The machines are clean and all of them seem to work. The place is open early and late, folding service is available during more limited hours. read more

Well, this is the saddest place on earth. I was counting on the wi-fi, but there's no wi-fi, so I'm just using my phone as a connection and I could have done that at a nicer laundromat. Everything in here feels 500 years old, including the other patrons. I forgot my detergent so I had to use their gross options which are all perfumed. There's no attendant so, you know, no asking about the wi-fi or alternate detergent options. You can't even prop the darn door open because the thing that holds it open, the door-stopper, is all worn down. Ugh. I hope my washer gets fixed soon, this is getting as old as the few patrons in evidence. Now I just say Ashley N's review and I'm even madder I came here. Dangit! read more

After years of dealing with the laundry machines in my apartment building (a washer that doesn't clean and a dryer that doesn't dry but burns my clothes) I found the machines at The Laundromat to be large enough to wash/dry large loads and actually get the job done. The dryers are massive and I was able to dry a set of bed sheets with a full load of clothes in one dryer. There is not one but two change machines if you run out of quarters. Also, The laundromat is conveniently located next to the Pub so it is easy to get a beer while waiting for clothes to wash and dry. read more

I used to really enjoy coming here - the place was clean, the owner friendly (although a little strange), the machines worked well, and the wash and fold job was always good. It frustrated me that on more than one occasion forgot my request to not use plastic bags when returning my clothes to me (you know trying to save the planet) but just to put them back in the basket -- but I overlooked it. The last time I went there to drop off my wash-n-fold the owner told me with a mean tone "you better pay in advance." I told him I was happy to but inquired into why the new policy and the sour tone. He went on to explain that I did not pay last time I came in and pulled out an invoice for some woman named Erica. I clarified that I was not Erica and have always paid with a check. he went on the say "I don't care who you are, you have to pay in advance!!!" Again I said that was fine as I do not care if I pay before or after. I then pursued to write a check and asked him to note that the name on the check was not Erica. He then repeated "I don't care who you are!" as he snatched my check and laundry. At that point I took off my hat and asked him to take a good look at my face as it felt important to me that he know I was not Erica. It was not fair that he was treating me this way when I was not the person he thought I was. He then started yelling at me "talk! talk! talk! you always have something smart to say . . ." then his wife came out of nowhere and grabbed me and started shoving me out of the store yelling to him "call the cop!!" I yelled in response "yeah you better call the cops your wife is assaulting me!!!" then told her "you better get your hands off of meI!" At that point it was clear I needed to leave. I pursued to reclaim my clothes and demand my check back (which he refused to give to me at first and then eventually relented). I returned to my car and burst into tears. I am very clear that this Erica person triggered some high level drama for the owners. I am also very very clear I am not Erica and I always paid for my laundry. I also do not know what more I I need to do to prove to him I was not Erica than to pay him with a check that clearly noted there is no Erica in my name. I am not one to call the race card easily, however I can not help but wonder if this was a case of all those black people look alike (yes I am of African decent). whatever the reason I felt compelled to share this with the public especially other POC (and our allies). this is not acceptable behavior. I am sad as I really liked bringing my laundry there. update: I found another awesome wash and fold -- Albany Washing Well -- right on San Pablo off of solano. It owned by a really sweet family. the place is very clean. the also do wash&fold at $1 a lb. And they do a really good job, every thing came out clean and thoughtfully folded.. they also do a really quick turn around -- I dropped off my laundry around 12:30 and it was done and ready for pick-up at 4pm. I'm new to this area, but saw that this place had good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I got there at about 8:50am and the place was open, but I found out that the wash & fold service doesn't start until 9am (and there was no one there to receive my laundry). Well, I was in a huge rush, and the place was so clean and looked so nice that I just took a chance and left my bag of laundry at the wash & fold service door. No note, nothing... I came back at about 5pm, was greeted by a very nice man (the owner) who told me he found my laundry and had it all ready for me. The laundry was very clean, perfectly folded, smelled great, and organized into several bags (for example, underwear and socks in one bag, put inside of a bigger bag with other folded stuff.) Most importantly, the owner was EXTREMELY friendly and cheerful. This is not the closest laundromat to where I live, but I will definitely be going back here for the wash/fold service in the future. EDIT: I've been going back about every two weeks since I made this post. The guy and his wife are SO nice. He always remembers my name, he even knows how much my bag usually weighs. He accidentally forgot to give me my laundry bag back one time, and when I came back in two weeks later he remembered without my asking, fetched the bag from the back, gave it to me, and apologized. After I had been bringing my laundry there for wash and fold service for a couple of months he gave me a really nice, HUGE laundry bag for free because he noticed my laundry didn't always fit in the one I was using. The last time I dropped my laundry off he put my dress shirts on hangers and use the steamer on them. He said, "It's not a service we usually provide, but these shirts are just so beautiful and they wrinkle so easily." Such a nice guy! They've got my business as long as I'm in the area! read more

CONTRARY TO A COUPLE OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS, THE OWNER DOES *NOT* STRIKE ME AS A BIGOT I just had a long conversation with him about these reviews. He had sensible explanations for how these two reviewers seem to have misunderstood his and his wife's intentions. He struck me as an extremely nice, honest guy; I'm inclined to believe his explanations. He said he didn't even know the ethnicity and sexual orientation of one of the reviewers, and laughed at her suggestion that he inferred the latter from her phone call with her girlfriend. Came here to wash my king down comforter. One of the jumbo washers was occupied with a neighboring restaurant's laundry, but a lady with a stroller (and no child, in fact, I'm not sure how she got that stroller) told me it was OK to move it out of the way. Ahhh.. laundromats read more

The cleanest and least sleazy feeling laundromat I've ever been to. This mom and pop shop is so great and it's on Solano so you can easily put your laundry in the machine and go for a stroll. There's free wifi so I love to come here and do a bit of laundry and also a little work as well. I also love that there are people here who I can talk to and ask questions about the machines if I need to. Four stars instead of 5 because parking can be hard to find and there aren't a ton of machines. But regardless, I'll definitely be coming back! read more

This place is a much better space than the one on solano/Cornell that is closer to me (though the woman who works there is wonderful, the owner not so much but anyway back to this location...). Smaller in size, but all the machines are in working condition. Two change machines that work well. I've never met the owners. Deducting a star because the wifi doesn't work, pretty sure they provided the wrong password for it. There's also weird ethnic dolls along the wall here that are super creepy but I'm just writing it off as old fashioned? read more

I had been a customer since 2007 but am not coming back. I had two problems with two machines, and the owner (a senior white man) was rude and annoyed when he refunded me a wash on the first occasion, and 25 cents on the second one... It was really crowded and I had to wait 20 minutes to do my laundry, after driving for 15 minutes looking for a parking spot. Granted, my laundry came out great. I suppose it was worth the wait. Also, I purchased one of their laundry bags and the handle broke the first time I used it. I hope I can exchange it! read more
