I used to come up to Niles, Mich., occasionally, and always wanted to stop by the lavendar farm, but my schedule never aligned with their hours. Well, luckily, I had another trip to the area with some friends, called, and they were open! June 5, 2023 - we are hitting the farm beofre everything is in bloom or ready to u-pick, so we basically just shopped in the little store. There are sachets, food stufffs, books, dried lavendar, lotions, lip balms, live plants for sale, and more! The young woman behind the counter was very friendly and chatted with us about the different vaieties of lavendar -- did you know, one is better for sachets and one is better for cooking? We all sampled the lavendar honey -- so good! I am having some in tea as I type this. Also bought a big bag of sachet buds, ome culinary lavendar, & some small purple spray bottles. Glad to find another great local place to visit from our place in New Buffalo. Selection of products is very good covering sprays, soaps, lip balm, essential oils, body lotions as well as food grade products such as dried herbs and lavender extract. I use the lavender extract in my tea and plan to use in some desserts. We look forward to visiting here in the warmer weather. read more

The only reason I didn't give it a five-star rating is because the hours don't always work for me. During some parts of the year it's only open a few hours on a few days. But that being said--when you catch them open you'll love the products! I've gone several times--and enjoyed just sitting outside taking in the scents. The lavender lotion is absolutely the best! The honey is phenomenal......and who knew lavender chocolate was so good! Worth the trip--but always call first to make sure they're open. read more

I like this little farm! We visited the other day, pretty late into the season, but we still grabbed a bucket and some scissors to clip some lavender. It ended up costing $5 per bundle, and they have all sorts of other lavender products in their shop as well (oils, soaps, lotions, etc.) We bought some culinary lavender and the recipe guide - I'm looking forward to trying the lavender shortbread! I'd like to try to visit the farm when it's at peak season next summer! read more

This is a darling little lavender farm and I was lucky enough to come during $5/bunch picking season (early July). It's nice that the owners have a presence at the local farmer's market to get their name out, but I am still surprised that so many of my South Bend friends don't know about this farm (or at least have never been there). When I went, there were 7 varieties to pick (5 English and 2 hybrid). The person I spoke to was knowledgeable about the uses for the different kinds, which I appreciated. There is a little shop indoors, and under a giant tree there were a couple of ladies spinning yarn and selling handmade gloves/blankets/etc. My husband bought a pair of well-made wool gloves. I hold back from 5 stars because I think that Lavender Hill could grow beyond where it currently is in terms of its shop and its outreach. Holding lavender craft lessons/gatherings (like wreath-making or cooking lessons or sachet making or essential oil making) would be a cool option for Michiana people. It's a beautiful pastoral setting and I think a lot of people would enjoy more excuses to go out there. read more

Wonderful lavender farm! I've been to all of them in West Michigan, and this is the best. Shop is charming, they sell lavender plants in some of the more desirable varieties that aren't the common ones found everywhere. The farm itself is beautiful! They have rolling hills that make it the perfect venue for lavender! read more

Beautiful little lavender farm! We made it on the last day to cut a big bunch of lavender for $5--the gal in the gift shop said the best time to visit for fresh lavender cuttings is right after the 4th of July as many of the varieties are in bloom then. There's a shop there too filled with wonderful smelling things including bath products, lavender honey, and some fantastic lavender essential oil that they steam distill right there at the farm. I also purchased a couple of lavender plants for my own garden. We spent about an hour and a half there which included a good amount of picking time as well as sitting in the shade admiring the views. Very peaceful, quiet setting. Highly recommend a trip if you're in the area! read more
