The store and the grounds are really nice. I bought some salsa and jams that I have not tried yet. The cider is good. The downside of this visit is that the doughnuts were completely raw on the inside, paste. That is a first. I did let them know. I also did not like the regular pickles, but other people might. read more

We went to Stovers in the middle of September, and still talk about the fun we had picking apples. Everything was laid out in a fairly accessible way when walking and there was minimal fruit rotting on the ground. 10/10 will come back again next year. read more

The cutest place to pick berries! We are naive berry pickers and the staff was super helpful! Extremely reasonably priced! The fruit was incredible! My little ones loved being able to try different berries in the different stages of growing noticing that some are sweet and some are tart. Wonderful experience! If berry picking isn't your thing- they have fresh produce available that is already picked, baked pies, salsa, the best jam and apple butter. Again all reasonably priced. read more

This is a cute and convenient stop for fruits and snacks. The staff is excellent- Very kind and answer all your questions. You can tell it is a family work environment. We purchased fresh blueberries, sweet cherries, jams, and their famous sweet jalapeño bbq mustard. It all looks delicious and I'm excited to try them out. I took away one star just because the fresh fruit options were slim pickings (that may have been because it's the end of the day and weather has been bad for fruits this year). They were also out of some things we were hoping to get (Apple and cherry butters). It also would have been nice to try samples. Overall really ice and I would go back! read more

I used to go all the time with my grandma when I was little and just went yesterday and it was so nostalgic. I loved it just like when I was little. They had fresh fruit and so many cool jams and salsas & also U-Pick! Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The environment inside was so cute too with the lights and vintage items. read more

I would totally give more stars if could to Stovers! When we got here blackberries and peaches were available for U-pick. The girl behind the counter was ssoooooo personable and told the kids exactly what to look for good yummy fruit and how to pick it. We picked both. CHERRIES IN MICHIGAN Was referred here by friends. Looking for a local spot for cherry, blueberry jams, preserves. Found in my GPS no problem. A nice size setup. Lots to choose from. Red Cherry, Dark Cherry, raspberry, blueberry, all jams. Even no sugar. Other gift items available. Great for souvenirs. I bought a case, plus a few others. Wow!! What a TART punch!! Red cherry almost too tart for me!!! Blueberry better. A real surprise. Ask questions. They have u checked out before u can think!! Also, beware the rugged terrain. This building sits on an incline, sharp big rocks kill ur feet, if sandals. No handicap accessible here. No rails. They did help me back to my car. Just ok. read more

We went yesterday and were a bit leery as the phone number was consistently a busy signal. Not to worry however as the main barn had super cute items (fruit items, lawn and garden stuff, baskets, etc) and very friendly staff. We then went a min or 2 down the road for U-pick. The cherries were picked over and blackberries almost the same, but we went for blueberries and got what we came for. It's not huge, but easy to walk and find what you're looking for (as long as it's in season). They also do peaches, apples, etc. We had a fun time and I would recommend Stovers for a quick trip. read more

I really love this u-pic for the following reasons: - HUGE variety of fruits & berries - staffed by the family themselves (and they're super sweet & helpful) - prices are reasonable - easy in & out - they sell hard cider & even have a vineyard so they sell their own wine which is actually decent Only negative thing I could say is that the sign on their property is tiny. Awesome family operated you pick farm that is friendly and reasonably priced. Went during late peach season and got some great peaches and early apples off the trees. The red barn store has lots of canned goods, including amazing peach and cherry based salas and a peachy hot sauce that is soo very tasty along with a large assortment of jams. They also sell some really stunning carved wooden bowls and wooden stands and also blown glass pieces along with hand carved gourds themed to various holidays. They have installed protective screening around the cash register and customers and staff were wearing masks in the barn. read more

Super manageable u-pic orchard for full range of seasonal fruit. Just went first time for strawberries and cherries. Top notch. They grow several varieties of peaches so there's always something perfectly ripe to pick. Been bringing the kids here since they were little. Prices are about as low as you'll find. The market has top quality jams, sauces and pies. The prices are the same as they charge at the farmers markets they work in Chicago. This is not a mom and pop shop on the side of a road.It's a big operation with overhead. This is a fun day trip from Chicago or an afternoon activity after the dunes. read more

My family took me here for my birthday. I have to say it was worth every second and every penny. The owners are so kind, they greeted us and gave us buckets to go pick. After explaining to us what to do, they let us go out in their fields and pick whatever fruits were in season! We picked the most delicious fruits including peaches, blackberries, and apples! We stopped around Labor Day and they had great peaches and picked up some frozen sour cherries. Plenty of shopping to do just in the barn if you can't pick. Plus some Native American gifts. I could probably spent 30 min just browsing through things. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. They let us take our dog into the barn to purchase a few things which was nice. I recently visited the Stover Farm this week while on vacation in New Buffalo. The U-Pic that I originally chose was closed because of rough season. My boyfriend and I started at the Farm that offered many selections from salad dressings, jarred fruit & veggies, salsas, etc. They also had local grown fruits & veggies in the barn for purchase. I bought two bottles of salad dressing, a pint of cherries, and two pints of blueberries. The cherries are amazing, I will say that. However, the prices did not amaze me. The salad dressings were about $6.50 each, the blueberries were 2 for $7, and the cherries were $3. There are other local farms that carry homemade dressings at a cheaper price. However, I did sample one of them and it is delicious. After making our purchases, we headed down the road to their U-Pic area. We went there to pick peaches. The peaches were just at the end of the season, so they were a bit soft. However, this has nothing to do with this business. My boyfriend and I each had a large bucket that we filled all the way. This came to about 10 lbs each. We paid $11.50 for $0.59/lb. The selection was wonderful and it was a great experience. The only negative thing that I would say is that they should have given us wicker bushels instead of plastic bags. Upon getting back to the hotel, the peaches rubbed against one another and some bruised and skinned each other. My only suggestion would be- bring your own wicker bushel basket if you come here! I would highly recommend the U-Pic area based on the price and quality. read more

This is our favorite U-Pick in the Midwest. The owners and employees are extremely friendly and helpful, and they have a good selection of fruits and vegetables. We learned about them from the Oak Park farmers market, where we got hooked on their jams, dried fruits, and salsas. I highly recommend supporting this farm. read more

This was the first time my family and I have picked blackberries and peaches. Getting to Stover's was not too hard and I love that they are a little off the beaten path. Went to the red barn first and was told for U-Pick blackberries we needed to go to the white barn just a short drive away (one minute). Girl at the little farm stand was friendly and helpful. She gave us our buckets and told us where to find the fruit. Lovely peaches and plenty of berries. I was wary as the sign said limited amounts of berries available but we were able to get quite a bit. The price for peaches were $1.25/lb. Blackberries $2.99 (a little steep I thought as other farms offer for $1.75/lb) But still delicious fruit and fun family experience. Went back to the barn for some jams and other goodies. They do not have a ton of knick'/knacks but just enough to look around and buy some honey, jam, soaps, etc. You can also buy already picked blueberries, apples, peaches and other fruits and jarred goods. I called to see what kind of apples they are currently picking I live a hour away. The guy that answered the phone was rude to put it bluntly he was a jerk. When I asked what Apples they are currently picking he said we have no honeycrisp I never asked about honeycrisp and he goes on say I could stand here for 5 minutes telling you what kind we are picking. I went else were to pick this place lost my business I went to tree mendus fruit farm were they were helpful didn't have a problem telling me what they were currently picking unlike this rude dump. read more

Just opened a fresh can of Mom's Marvelous Peaches from the Evanston Farmer's Market. Stocked up on the peach salsa before the market ended too. Nothing compares to the fresh peaches from Stover's, but the canned peaches and salsa are a heavenly taste of summer in the dead of winter. read more
