I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience really didn't sit right with me. My mom and I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately the customer service was very disappointing. Our waiter was inattentive and overall didn't provide a good experience. Despite that, my mom still chose to leave a respectful and honest review, simply expressing her concerns in hopes that things would improve. What's even more upsetting is that when she returned to give the restaurant another chance, she was told by staff that they could not serve her because of the review she left. Mind you, this is someone who has supported this business for years. It's disheartening to see a loyal customer be turned away for providing honest feedback. Reviews are meant to help businesses grow, not punish customers for speaking up. I really hope management takes a step back and reevaluates how they handle feedback and treat long-time customers. read more

I will never eat at legend's again!!! Don't get me wrong the food was great the service was all wrong, so I spoke to owner he gave me excuses instead of hearing my complaint. Service is everything for me being I've been in the service business for over 40 years I paid my bill but u will never step foot in the restaurant again. I'm just saying, 20 minutes after leaving restaurant my stomach started bothering me craps hurts so bad I knew I need to get to my bathroom. The few times my wife and myself dined there. The chow was 1st class..ambiance is like a home away from home. Stopped here on a recommendation from my parents on our way back from an airport pickup. I was excited to try their gluten free bread turkey club - unfortunately the bread is less than desirable for this gfree foodie expert. There are definitely better gfree bread options out there. My parents ordered a quesadilla and gyro entree separately. They enjoyed their meals. The fruit cup didn't appear as fresh as we would've liked. Haven't been to this place since way back when it was Arners. Saw mixed reviews, but the parking lot is always full on the weekend. I gave it a shot and really liked it. Did a fantastic job refurbishing the place. It was clean and modern looking. As usual and whenever possible, I sat at the counter. My server, Jodi, was friendly and attentive. I had the vegetable omelette that included, broccoli and spinach. I added asparagus and swiss. Substituted the potatoes for fresh strawberries. Added a side of bacon. Well, we are hungry again and found this place again. We had breakfast here once, and it was wonderful. So, today is dinner time. Let's see what's in store. Our server is Audra, and personable, our soups were delayed. However, I understand the server was helping an elderly couple with their food. My food came, and I was surprised it wasn't a stuffed chicken breast. Also, my food was cold. I guess I will wrap togo. The flavor was ok. I would not order again. My husband and I really enjoyed going to The Legend for a few years, but will no longer go. We went there today, 6/8/25, and the heavyset waitress (Suzy I think?) scammed us on our receipt. When she took my order she said I could get one side. She read off the sides and I asked if I could get a salad as a side, she said yes. I ordered chocolate milk and half way through, realized there was white curdled floaties in my cup at the top. She should have noticed this! I asked her to make me a new one and she didn't apologize, just walked away. Our food arrived, she walked away, and I looked down and realized we had no silverware. She should have noticed this! While my food got cold, I had to wait a while for her to come back to ask her for silverware to eat my food. Again, she didn't apologize. She barely checked on us, never refilled my husband's coffee, and was just awful. She brought the check and I realized my chicken croquettes were more expensive than they were on the menu. I took my check up to pay, but grabbed a menu to see what happened. Sure enough my meal was supposed to be $17.99, not over $20. The guy at the register called our server over and she said with an attitude that I was charged an extra $2.50 for the salad. I said I specifically asked you if that could be my side and you didn't mention an upcharge. She just stared at me with a nasty face, didn't apologize. The guy at the register did nothing to help. I walked over and grabbed her $6 cash tip off our table and we left. In the past, my husband asked for cheese on his eggs and they charged him $2+ and didn't tell him. I read about this place on my Hilton Honors Dining app. It's located just before the bridge from DE to NJ in New Castle. So, I decided to do breakfast here on my way home from the DE/MD shore. So glad I did. The place is large and clean. The service is excellent. I was shown to my table and handed a very extensive breakfast menu. I ordered my standard plate in these situations, a cheddar cheese omelet. It came in good time, along with a healthy portion of fries and hot, well buttered whole wheat toast. I was very pleasantly surprised at how big my omelet was. It wasn't Dirty Pierre's large, but it was close. And it was delicious. The prices are easy on the wallet as well. One of the few places that was open at 6:30 am and I needed to be somewhere at 7:30 am, so here I went! This was obviously a place the locals knew about as the owner knew his people. I'd been meaning to try this place it for awhile and I'm glad I finally visited. Ordered bfast late Friday am. Bfast burrito was on point (I ended up ordering another the following day). The biscuits and gravy was average (I like mine extra creamy and spicy though). Both encounters, the customer service was polite and courteous (always much appreciated). What came to mind for me was Glass Kitchen. My food was bland. Had no flavor and a weird aftertaste. I got the Seafood scampi. Was not the buttery sauce that is expected. Was more like a thick flavorless paste. I am not one to grab salt and pepper but I coated this dish just trying to improve it. The service was really bad. 10 minutes went by before we were greeted at our table. Every part of service took an excessive amount of time. Asked for a drink refill just before our food came and I never go it. I had to suck on the ice to wash down the bad food. On a positive note. My wife said her fried fish sandwich was good. That isn't enough to overcome the service and my food was so bad I just don't want to give it another chance. read more

Looked to be Greek/Italian owners, huge salads with real lettuce (crazy I know), and a really good breakfast. Reminded you of a jersey diner. Another trip here during Covid was really bad but hey what can they do. They've since come of out that a bit and look to have changed owners again and they've resorted to super cheap ingredients. Salads with canned black olives, iceberg lettuce. White vinegar and canola oil vinaigrette. Really poorly executed breakfast, blah potatoes, burnt shredded omelets like they were dropped before plating. I was delusional ordering the Shrimp Benedict expecting something worth while. Stale cold muffin, 2 shrimp and broken eggs. It's Diner 101 that if you break a yolk, you start over. $30 later and probably won't be back. read more

If you've got a diner food craving this is a nice little spot to try out if you're in the area with a very extensive menu. I've been there a couple of times now and they've all been good experiences and I've tried an array of their food. The staff is very warm, welcoming and attentive anytime you go in. The coffee is absolute garbage but in a typical bad diner coffee type of way that I have to order it every time I'm in. Their ham steak dinner is my favorite, one of the most flavorful ham steaks I've had anywhere. But their egg salad & chicken Caesar wrap is just ok. Their breakfast meats, potatoes, eggs and sausage gravy are perfect. But their pancakes weren't my favorite. Stopped late Friday night. I had the ribeye and crab cake special, wife had lobster and crab ravioli special. The New England clam chowder we had to start was great. The main courses (sadly I only took the one picture), were ...mmm....okay? My ribeye was cooked perfectly, but not the best cut or flavor. My wife found the ravioli was a bit lacking in crab/lobster. The crab cake I had was a bit overcooked and very dry. It may have been that they were getting close to closing time, so will go back to sample their breakfast items. read more

So good we had to visit twice in a row for the breakfast. I ordered the seasonal pumpkin pancakes with 2 eggs and sweet potatoes fries. I never had sweet potato fries for breakfast and it was fire. The Legend is a legendary establishment located next to the New Castle Airport. While I have my favorite dishes, there hasn't been one that we didn't enjoy. I have found they are willing to accommodate any request. This is a family owned and operated business. Either Oz or Annie is always there to ensure the absolute best dining experience. I am an outside salesman. I used to go to Arner's. Not sure but it went down hill and I stopped going. The Legend opened. I first tried it alone. Had breakfast. Keep in mind I am not a high maintenance person. To me the food, service, cleanliness, and price was on point. I have held several business breakfast and lunch meetings since with pretty high level clients. I have a have never had a bad experience in say 15 trips with different folks along. Great place, I go there often for weekend brunches. They always make great omelettes and the coffee if very good. I saw some talk on a "Neighborhood" website where people were bashing the place because there was an unfortunate incident with an elderly man who was left there after close by his seemingly neglectful daughter. I don't know all the details of course but I read people were bashing this place because of this foolishness and I wanted to stand up and say, "I really like the place" I have never had a bad meal there, or a hard time with a waitress or anything negative. It's one of my favorite spots for brunch! Best around, right there with the Newport Resaurant. It isn't a retirement home or a day care facility just a restaurant that in my opinion, serves great food for a very reasonable price. Keep it up guys! read more
