I showed up 6am to claim 2 tables at the Pavillion and stay on-site until our party, as the rules are first come first serve. Park officially opens at 5am. I show up. No-one else here. No cars. But ALL the tables are covered with sheets, a happy bday sign, and a sign that says "reserved for today". NO ONE HERE. My guess is this was done last night. Despite my personal feelings on this debacle I now face, I'll pose it to you. Is it kosher and acceptable to reserve overnight? Am I overboard with thinking "first come first serve" means (1) first come on the DAY OF, not day before (or more), and (2) remain on-site to keep your spot? Otherwise, who is to stop someone from reserving a week in advance? Update: it's 830a still no one on site.

The splash pad is great. Amazing, really, how much more fun a splash pad with SLIDES are. My kids thought it was a waterpark (clearly, they've never been to a waterpark). SO FUN though - the best splash pad we've been to in dfw so far. The rest of the park sucks. The bathrooms are disgusting - sticky pee all over the floor, no ventilation, and the humid scent of human waste. It was so bad I made my kids pee in the grass behind the restrooms instead. There is a playground separate from the splash pad. Small and old. Picture the faded Little Tikes plastic playhouse the previous owners left in your backyard from when their kids were toddlers a decade ago. That's pretty much this playground. There is a covered pavilion with picnic benches and 2 benches under a small shade canopy by the splash pad. The park has some trees that offer minimal shade, but it's not enough to cover everyone visiting the park on a weekend. To sum this up, it's a 2 star park with a 5 star splash pad. We will for sure be back to play in that water, but nothing else about the park would bring me to make the drive.

Amazing splash pad, kids will be there for hours. Be warned it gets SUPER CROWDED, even early on in the day. Bring snacks! There is a dry playground off to the side which is great for breaks. My Only complaint is that they do not allow reservations for the pavilion for parties etc, it's first come first serve. I wouldn't even mind paying! Just hate not being able to plan to have that pavilion for certain.

It's always nice when we do get a chance to come here. Just wanted the kiddos to have a lil bit of normalcy. They have been great troopers and had a blast. The park was clean and debris free and smelled like chlorine... when things get back to normal we will be back more. Until then it was fun, nice and cool for the kids to have a day of freedom.

The playground has turf and is good for little ones who still crawl. The splash pad is still on even in October. I enjoy this park because it is almost always clean.

It was great until the water turned off it was 745pm in August! Online shows closed at 10:30pm! That's what I didn't like.. kids had fun went to the playground once it turned off. I just seen the hours and it says 8pm!

The kids had a great time! My little one was a little scared since it was his first time however after watching his brother he jumped right in. Cool little space! Glad we came and will definitely be back!

Those slides in there especially the blue one is adult sized and oh so fun! I went down it a few times an almost had whiplash from the speed and all the twist and turns! And it feels like the slide goes foreverrrrr. The entire playhouse is tall enough for adults to play inside which is hardly ever the case at most places! It was jam packed full of people by the time we left, and we got there right when it opened at 10am. Check in is a breeze. You tell the nice lady behind the counter your name and kids name and they give you a sticker. If it's your first time you simply fill out a form and then get the same sticker. Shoes have to remain on and it is located inside what looks to be a mega church! Ample parking and very nice parents who go there.

The sweet spot for this playground is probably 3-6 years, but there is plenty to do for the younger ages too. The max age for entry is 10. There are slides, climbing areas, and a rubber-bottomed hill for the kids to run up and roll down. Despite being fully closed in, the play area is bright and doesn't feel cramped at all (in comparison to Irving Bible Church's THE TUBES). Everything was exceptionally clean. The playground is open M-F from 10a-4p. It is free and open to the public, but you must check in at the desk in front of the play area before entering. No food or drinks in the play area and children MUST wear shoes. This was a bit of a drive for us, so I packed a lunch and after the kids had their fill of the playground, we headed over to the indoor eating area on the opposite side of the church ("The Commons") to eat. Overall a great morning of free fun - THANK YOU Prestonwood Baptist Church!

Part of the City of Carrollton park system, Branch Hollow Park is located at the east end of Branch Hollow Drive and is a nice, 3.5 acre area with lots of shade trees. There are 2 lighted, fenced in tennis courts, a pavilion with picnic tables and grills and a large playground for the children. You can burn off a few calories in the court, let the kids work off some extra energy on the playground and meet up with friends for a meal or just relax in the shade. The park is located at the north end of the Carrollton Blue Trail, a 4.25 mile paved path that winds along Furneaux Creek in the greenbelt. So, it makes for a great starting or endpoint for an invigorating run or bike ride, or a leisurely walk. There's a small parking lot and lots of street parking available. Hope to see you there!

The playground is very well maintained with lots of different things for the kiddos to play on. The covering is rubbery which helps cushion falls. The blue trail is right behind it if you feel like doing some walking/riding your bike on a wide divided cement path (is about 4 miles). Very close to the tennis courts are three very well maintained butterfly/insect/bird areas.

We saw other kids his age there as well at the base of the orb with their parents. He became completely fixated on traversing through the orb thing in the middle of the playground, as one would be as it's an amazing structure. He kept trying over and over and over to go up the ropes and into the first layer of the orb. He was scared, the layers of the orb are made with rope, and I had to go with him while helping him physically, which was heavy on me physically, and I am fit. There were certain parts in that first 'orb layer' that had no net and a steep drop off to the ground. My boy thought it might be fun to try jumping off of it so I had to fight against him to keep him from those parts. I went down the slide with him in my lap to get down. We tried every single time to distract and recenter his focus to get him to try the other playground areas but he was fixated on that orb and wouldn't stop. He is athletic at 55 lbs so usually he prefers the big kid areas at parks. We ended up having to carry him out with him crying, kicking, and screaming due to this playground orb feature. We went to another nearby playground, which was a blast.

Andy Brown is a beautiful space, from the pond to the open fields, the sidewalk/bike path, multiple large pavilions, and fun playground. There are large, mature trees surrounding the park. We parked in the wrong lot and had to walk alongside the gym in order to get to the playground and I couldn't believe how beautiful the pathways were with all the trees and the small creek running alongside. Not what I expected from a city park! The playground itself ("Kid Country") is almost fully enclosed and is a sprawling assortment of things to climb up, swing on, and slide down. There is a play area in the toddler section with storefronts to spark pretend play. The ground is bark. There are large trees in the center of the play area that provide shade and make the play structure look more natural than your typical playground. Almost like a tree house. There are benches scattered throughout the play area and a large covered pavilion with multiple picnic tables underneath. The city of Coppell provides free WiFi there and there were multiple moms with laptops out, working, while their kids played. The only big negative is the distance from the playground to the bathroom. I understand that they probably built the bathrooms more toward the center of the park, but the wise choice would have been to also put an additional small restroom right next to the playground. It's too far of a walk for me to feel comfortable sending my younger kids over there alone and it's kind of a bummer to have to wrangle together the entire group every time one kid has to pee. Otherwise, a fabulous park. LOVE IT. Hats off to you, Coppell!

I discovered this park after joining Plano Pacers last night and seeing that this is our monthly location for 5k races. I walked over to check out the course prior to Saturdays race. I loved everything about it! It's truly beautiful in every sense of the word. What I can say, is on a very hot TX day the park itself (not Legacy trail) didn't seem to have a ton of tree coverage. You'll definitely want a wide brim hat and some sunscreen. The paths, wild flowers, lake, creek, trees, birds, bunnies and so on were all very lovely. I've been running a ton of routes since relocating to the neighborhood and I'm always thankful to find new paths to incorporate in, seeing as though I'm a distance runner and have been trying to put together some ideas for various different mileage options from my doorstep. I was very accustomed to an out and back in my previous city that I could easily get over 20 miles on and have been looking to somehow recreate a similar very straight forward route like that. I will most definitely be looping Windhaven Meadows Park and Legacy Trail into my runs. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous peaceful place to walk and relax. I can't wait to bring friends and family here!
