What a special place and stay! Do NOT let the word "Motel" sway you. This place is so cute, with amazing amenities (pool, hot tub, eucalyptus steam room, sauna, lobby treats, comfy beds, and many more), as well as very obvious love poured into your stay from Lisa and her team. I will continue to stay here as long as the doors are open for business and Lisa & team are running the show. Truly a gem with great views, centrally located, and such a welcoming atmosphere.

We stayed here because of an American Airline delayed flight. It was really nice and the staff was so friendly. I spent hours the next morning in the redone basement pool/hot tub/sauna/gym. Regretted not spending our other nights in Bozeman there.

I first stayed here in September with my parents. We just needed an inexpensive option for one night before my parents' early flight out the next morning. I was blown away. The friendliness of the staff/owner was very refreshing. The pool and spa area were absolutely incredible. If I lived in Bozeman, I'd find a way to pay for a monthly membership. Luxury does not begin to describe it. And that shower! I've told an obscene number of people about that shower. Then when I finally did stop enjoying the amenities and go to bed, I was blown away again. That bed is the single most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I don't know how they did it. The next morning, the owner had arranged to have the breakfast set out a little earlier than usual so that we could get something to eat before taking my parents to the airport. The variety was exceptional. I had planned to drive home after dropping my parents off - but since check out was not until noon, I returned for another swim, soak, and a nap in that marvelous bed. I have daydreamed about this motel many times since. Finally I got another chance to go back with a friend. We took a trip up from Wyoming to ski at Bridger Bowl and I have to admit I was just as excited for the hotel stay as I was for the skiing. Lewis and Clark did not disappoint. I enjoyed the hotel just as much as the first time, and was just as reluctant to leave. We ended up getting trapped at the hotel under 17 inches of snow, but thanks to some shovels and encouragement from the owner we were able to dig out and make it to the mountain. She even offered us a discounted rate if the weather turned worse and we got stuck in Bozeman overnight. Unfortunately, the roads cleared up and we didn't get to stay a second night. It's not an authentic stop on the Lewis and Clark trail, but that is lucky for all of us. If Lewis and Clark had stopped at this hotel, they never would have left.

I love that this motel is still privately owned and managed by the original family. I saw the picture of the pool online but didn't realize they also have two infrared saunas and a steam room. Great fitness center. Room was very clean and welcoming. Surprisingly quiet as well given the glass sliding doors. Highly recommend this place over any chain hotel!!

Hidden gem!! ! Staff is very welcoming, proud of their history! Amazing pool, jacuzzi, steam room is a welcome to cold weather!! Coffee & breakfast treats too!

I've travelled a ton for work the last 7 years, and this is hands-down the best all-around hotel I've ever been to. Views of the mountains, proximity to downtown, a gem of a spa, and outstanding service are the main things, but there are so many little touches I can't possibly list, such as classical music greeting you in the cool original retro room, comfortable beds and pillows, fascinating lobby, on and on. Don't stay at a chain, stay here, they are so worth it!

To be quite honest, I don't think I'd stay here again when in Bozeman, depending on the circumstances. The hotel is nicely situated near Main Street and is an easy walk to many of the shoppes and restaurants in the area. Checking in was fairly easy and the person working the desk was extremely informative and friendly. The lobby was decorated nicely, with plenty of seating. It was strange that there were just stairs up to the front door, the accessible entrance was all the way around the building. We checked out other areas by the lobby. You can walk up to the balcony of the theatre and take a look at it from there. It was being decorated for Nutcracker brunch so it was super cute when we saw it. We visited the restaurant and both the bars. We also joined the social hour a couple of times. The social hour is great and I appreciated that they did this. We went up to the pool but didn't swim. It was nicely heated so you could be in it year-round. Our room was clean and smelled nice when we entered. The bed was comfortable and clean. We were on the 8th floor so there were no people sleeping above us so it was nice and quiet after the bar closed. For some of the flaws, I booked a mountain view and would not do that if staying here again. The train horn was super loud and went on all night. The shower leaked and the water landed on the huge metal plate over the drain. It was the loudest thing ever and we ended up having to put a towel in the shower to dampen the sound in order for us to sleep. Also, the fire alarm had a really erratic light that made no sense and sometimes lit the whole room up in an eerie green light. These flaws were fairly manageable. The worst thing (and the reason I might not stay in this hotel again) was late check out. They do it "first come, first serve" here, meaning you have to call around 7am to try to get a late check out, which is just given to you, no question about WHEN you need to check out. We decided to just hang out at the airport for the rest of our time because our late check out was just one hour. They also don't preemptively re-key your card, you have to wait until you can't get into your room anymore.

Vintagey and mid century modern I cannot get enough of it. Tiny details everywhere you look. Staying for only one night is tragic, and I might cancel our 5 star hotel anniversary celebration last day of vaca splurge stay next week when we fly home just to stay here again. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Price is a little bit high but I think that's everywhere these days right but so worth it. Little bit of street noise but honestly nothing to really mention but I didn't hear any neighbors, not sure if that is the usual or not but I was extremely satisfied and happy and hope when we return I have the same experience. Be warned the cafe attached makes the parking lot completely full but it clears out after breakfast at least it did on a Saturday so not sure how that works for guests if they can't find parking! The swimming pool was nice, with windows to the outside so it was bright. Clean pool, and clean pool area. it was big enough. I think there were five hot tubs! Breakfast was pretty good. Hot eggs, sausage links, slightly spicier smoked sausage slices (yum!), grits, potatoes. Biscuits! Also a pancake machine! That was a little slow when everyone was there, but it was fun, especially for the kids. Good tasting hot coffee. A wide-open high-ceiling dining area. There's large fireplace in the lobby, of course not lit in July (2026). The top of the walls at reception are decorated all around with antlered mounted trophies. We loved the log-cabin look.
