My family and I have been living at this apartment community since 2019, and over the years I've visited the leasing office many times without any issues. Unfortunately, my experience last week was completely different. I went to the leasing office simply to ask a question about the EV charging spaces. Instead of receiving a professional and courteous response, the woman working in the office spoke to me in a rude, dismissive, and aggressive manner. I was only asking a simple question, yet I was treated as if I had done something wrong. In more than seven years of living here, I have never experienced such disrespect from the leasing office. Residents deserve to be treated with professionalism and basic courtesy, especially when they are asking legitimate questions. If someone does not enjoy working with residents or cannot communicate respectfully, then a customer-facing position like the leasing office is probably not the right fit. I sincerely hope management addresses this issue so that no other resident has to experience the same kind of treatment. read more

Pros: - nice modern unit with decent appliances - good noise isolation on the ground floor - thick door and windows - walking distance to target, Safeway, Starbucks, the park - most responsive maintenance team I have seen Cons: - dog poop everywhere and staff refuses to fix this issue. I've been living here for a little over 8 months now, and I love it! The location is so conveniently close ot everything, and it's in a really good, quiet neighborhood! The maintenance crew is located on site, so if you ever need anything, they are there in a flash! The battery of my smart lock was running super low tonight, so I started to panic a little bit. I got worried seeing that I found out a little after 8pm (the office was closed by then, which made me worry even more!), so I called the number for emergency maintenance and let them know what had happened. They literally got there to help me within 20 minutes! Special shout out to Irving for coming to my rescue! He was fast, efficient, and super helpful! I'm sure he was tired from a whole day of working (I felt so bad!), but he came over with a smile and did his thang with the door fixture. Not to mention, he's so nice! The management team is amazing, as well! They're really helpful with any questions/concerns you have and are always there when you need them! WAY TO GO TEAM, NEATO (IYKYK lol)!!! The lex has become our home. The apartment is amazing and convenient to all the daily need locations a person can ask for (Costco, Safeway, target, restaurants, gym, and more). I would highly recommend people moving here. And maintenance staff? Update lived here 1 year and i moved out due to being a little pricy but I can say it was a great experience. I didn't experience anything negative at all . My view 5th floor hits the park and the hills be aware that if you rent by the park you will have to deal with the park lights and notices but nothing crazy . We were lucky enough to have kind staff . The maintenance team are fast and kind ! Front desk staff are nice I loved in different type of apartments ( way ghetto ) and I can say this one is amazing ! The Lex looks great at first, but a closer look reveals sloppy paint, poor finishes, and noticeable imperfections throughout. It's overpriced for what you actually get. Management is slow to respond and often unhelpful. I was given a verbal agreement that wasn't honored, which ended up costing me $750. When I asked for clarification, even the office staff couldn't give straight answers -- I had to wait days. Policies are vague, and communication is disorganized. Make sure you get everything in writing. Overall, it feels like they just want your rent and don't care much beyond that. read more

I lived at the Lex for a couple years then moved away for grad school then came back here to the Lex. We could have gone elsewhere, but we love the location, accessibility, familiarity, and the people. Is it perfect? No. Is anything though? Also no. I will say that it has been nice that the people who work in management and maintenance are always fun to talk to, even when I might be frustrated about something haha. As far as maintenance specifically go, I have to give a special shout out to Irving. He has been here since before we lived here the first time and it has been great. We don't ever really know who is going to come fix anything we need fixing when we put the service request in, but everytime it has been him, we end up having fun conversations too (while he is doing his job haha). He also has a way of explaining what happened that led to why we needed to put the service request in in the first place that is nice and not condescending, which I really appreciate. I've been living here for 4 years, and The Lex team has been the best while living here. Irving the maintenance supervisor has helped me tremendously. Every time there's an issue in my unit he fixes them within the 24 hours of the work order being placed. He's efficient in the work he does and is mindful of your space. I love living here at The Lex. This is probably by far one of the best apartment complex I've lived in. The property manager really cares for this building. I've never stayed at a place where they continue to strive and keep up with the facility maintenance, upgrading their systems, painting the walls, changing out the carpet in the hallways, you name it. You don't see trash on the ground etc. It's so clean here ! There's a cleaning maintenance lady every morning and a vacuum robot that cleans the hallway daily. The Service team is impressive here ! Let me tell you. Any time we've had any issues, and submitted a ticket for service, Irving have been so quick to respond and take care of any problems we have. He's super friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Such a dedicated employee. Thank you Irving for your excellent service! You really do make living here so stress free when we have any issues in our apartment. The amenities are also great. The pool is never crowded and they have cabanas. We love the gym as well. I have been a Resident at this property for almost 6 years . I have experienced 3 different management teams but I must say working with Bernard has been my favorite experience. He is so calm ,professional, patient and personable. Irving and the rest of the maintenance team are just simply amazing, respectful and very professional. They made me feel at home and heard! Never dismissive or disrespectful. I love the location of the property, walking distance to everything. Literally EVERYTHING! .15mins to SJC airport if you are a traveler like me,15mins to Downtown. Cons Package thefts! Residents (including myself) experienced a lot of theft packages by unknown individuals. It got really bad at some point. The management had upgraded the security systems. Two words. Money grabbers. My husband and I recently moved (Thank God) from this place. They constantly tried to overcharge us. They towed my husband's car from his parking space because when we transferred apartments, Barnard at the leasing office said he would make sure to transfer the spot to our new lease. Apparently he never did. We had to pay almost $700 to get it back. They never gave us our deposit back, instead took our entire deposit and are charging us another $400 for "painting fees". There were minor wear and tear issues that we didn't cause. I have the pictures to prove that. They sent us pictures 1 week after we moved claiming that we provided damage but that damage was not in the pictures I took. Also, when trying to put our notice in, the website was down. Sent an email to them and tried calling multiple times. They still tried to charge us another 2k for rent until I went down there and went up to them to fix it. Monique tries to be nice to your face when in reality it's a manipulation tactic to make it seem as though they're doing what they can. The only good thing about this place was Irving. The maintenance team is the only reason we stuck with this complex. I strongly recommend you find elsewhere. And I promise I'm not one to complain unless there's an issue I've noticed. And they know me by name at the leasing office because of how many issues they've given us. So that's probably saying something. read more

Generally speaking, it's hard to come across a place that doesn't have any issues at all; that being said, the biggest thing for me is how quickly and efficiently these issues get resolved ... If you want to view the units it is better to call or schedule an appt. online from their website. We went in on a random Saturday but was turned away because they were booked solid. Parking is tough for future residents. Even for households w/ more than 1 car. Every unit gets a spot in the garage and if you want another spot you will have to pay a monthly fee and get on the wait list. I think it's worth it because parking sucks. The apartments itself was beautiful. We looked at 2 different styles.. one w/o the island and one w/ the island. I like the one w/ the island. I don't care much about overlooking the pool but I was told you pay more if you want to be away from the pool due to the noise but the pool closes at 10pm when it's operating season. There is no dumpster. There is a trash collector service from Mondays-Thursdays. I only saw one unit w/ trash by the door... but the thought of having trash sitting there bothered me a little. I love the 24 hour gym which has the basic free weights and cardio machines a person needs. We were told it was only busy in January... *typical, haha* I liked the business center, too. It's a first come, first serve basis but for large parties you can reserve a slot. Pretty neat. Maryssa was sweet and very thorough. She gave a tour to Ronnie and his son just awhile back. They are looking to move very soon whereas I'm not looking to move until a little later. I love where I live now but having the fancy amenities and posh feel plus washer/dryer in-house is a major plus - I'm seriously considering it. If you want the one w/ an island you can buy stools instead of adding a dining table to the mix. I like my place to be as minimal as possible. It's not only a cleaner look/feel but easy to clean. Having that island will allow me ample space for all of my kitchen appliances. Now that Ronnie has tried my cooking - he calls me his personal chef. I wonder how it'd be if and when once we are neighbors. Oh, the price fluctuates daily based on the market and availability. The lowest I have seen for a 2-bedroom was $2715 and the highest $2990. It's true.. it's expensive but you get what you pay for. I will probably be a resident here by end of the summer or by the end of the year. I can't wait. read more
